Kilian's trip to Eowyn had been a long one. He'd finally found his destination and would be happy to stay as long as Erionda would welcome him. However, they needed supplies. So he had offered to go into town for her to get them. No way would he let her venture into the town. There were bound to be some of those that were hunting for hybrids like her. Amadia grunted with agreement. Lanzecki and Uassae will keep her occupied while we're gone.
Kilian nodded as he took a swig from his water skin. He hung the skin back at his waist and made his way into town, making a path straight to the vendors that lined the streets of the market. He bought a couple of more water skins and hung them from the packs on Amadia's back.
As he wondered through the market, his eyes caught on the glinting of many jewels adorned in necklaces, rings and such. His fingers ran over a necklace that had an ice blue crystal, wrapped in silver wire hanging from it. His mind flashed back to Erionda and he quickly snatched the necklace up and paid for it before anyone else could lay claim to it.
As he stored the trinket in his pocket he scanned the market place. Something he did out of habit every once and a while. As his eyes traveled over the crowd they fell onto a female Dovaa. She looked familiar in a way and he couldn't seem to take his eyes off of her.

Kavanna decided to visit Eowyn for once in a long while. Word was spread that the Gypsy Caravans were found within Eowyn this month and she knew she wanted to catch them before they moved on. They always had very exquisite things and it was always a surprise at what she would find when shopping with them.
As she went from stall to stall down the market's row, she caught glimpse of an Oblivionite. Something about him was familiar, she went on about her way, glancing back at him every now and again.
Finally, one time she glanced back, he had his eyes locked onto her. Her heart skipped a beat a moment and she quickly glanced away, only to meet eyes once more. Finally, curiosity got the best of her and she quickly strode over to take up conversation with the younger Oblivionite.
"This may sound strange, but do I know you from somewhere? I don't normally talk to Oblivionites, but there is something about you that I just can't quite put my finger on. I'm Kavanna. Kavanna Kaalia-Naraama. Ring a bell?" she asked the boy, twiddling her fingers between each other and with a raised brow of curiosity. Maybe he had heard of her? Or maybe the two had met some time ago?
She had seen many an Oblivionite before, but none gave her a feeling like this boy had. Where was he from?

Kilian eyed the Dovaa as she made her way over to him. The sense that he had met her before getting stronger. Amadia snorted and moved closer to Kilian. Shed protect him if she had to. All she knew was that if Kilian did know this female, then it had been before she'd become part of his life.
He was not use to others just coming up to him randomly. His dark skin and eyeless sockets were enough to deter most from even giving him a greeting of some kind.
He took a step back as the Dovaa stopped close to him. Kilian's fingers twitched with the need to go up to his daggers. He held them at bay, however. There was nothing to indicate that this female would attack. Yet.
Kilian's eyes widened as she told him her name. It couldn't be the Dovaa he'd met on Soudul so long ago. Now that he looked at her, though, she did have some of the same features. "Kavanna? Really?" He looked her up and down, wondering what all had happened to her in the years they'd not seen each other. Obviously, from the name change, she had married. To who?
"I'm not sure you'll remember me but my name is Kilian. We met on Soudul a long time ago." He rubbed the back of his neck with his left hand while his right hand laid atop Amadia's head. A nervous habit he still had to this day.

The Dovaa eyed the Drakein with him. Now that she had met a couple of Drakein, it was so easy to tell them apart from the dragons. She just gave a puzzled look to the two, and when he said his name, things began to click within her mind.
"Kilian...Abronaxus help me...it's really you? Wow, you've grown up so much since last we met. You were the one who helped me with my research on Lake Koralifel all those years ago, right? Oh my, how have you been?" she said, her face filled with joy. The two weren't ever close, she knew that much. But just the fact that he was alright, safe, and okay. One of the two Oblivionites that she didn't totally detest. Him and Eanah were the only two Oblivionites that seemed to save the race in her mind. Everyone else was an utter disappointment. She was glad to have heard that Nayal, the little b***h that had actually been there when she and Kilian met the first time, was dead. Her memory wasn't a fond one of that girl.
"And is this your Drakein?" she asked curiously. Obviously she knew what it was, and it was likely that the two were bonded much like Maslin and Lazuli were. But the Drakein was new to the fold, for she didn't remember there being a Drakein at that time. It was long ago.

Kilian just smiled as Kavanna talked and asked questions. He had only met her that one time but she had seemed alright. It seemed that she had also grown as well. And married. Kilian's thoughts went to the necklace in his pocket. Would he have that same fate one day?
"Yes, I'm the one who helped you. Though I do remember some coaxing from you to get me into the lake." Kilian gave a mock frown, teasing her. "I've been alright. I've had a couple of rough dragon hunts though. A pretty bad scar on my back from when I blocked an Ayrala from clawing someone." He shrugged at that. He'd do it all over again for Erionda. There was no doubt about it.
"Ah." Kilian said as he looked down at his Keindred friend. "Yes, her name's Amadia." He looked back up at Kavanna. "Though I'll be the first to admit I was a bit reluctant to be around her at first. They're so similar to dragons and yet so different." Amadia snorted at that comment and head butted Kilian in the behind. She proceeded to walk over to Kavanna and sniff at her feet. Looking up at the Dovaa, Amadia spoke up. "Hello."

Kavanna gave a smirk as the lake was mentioned from his side. Yes, she was very good at getting her way back then. Not so much nowadays. If she had it her way, her husband would be home every night and her son wouldn't have ever left for the Plane in the first place.
Kavanna knew what was meant by rough dragon hunts. "Yes, I completely understand. My scar was from a Firani many years ago. It's really grown to be apart of me. Battle wounds are wounds to be proud of though. I received mine when on a dragon hunt with the love of my life. He saved me from death. He and his family. I don't know where I would be without them. Anyway, I am very glad to hear you're doing alright." she said with a grand smile, watching as the Drakein came over to sniff her feet.
When the Drakein spoke up, Kavanna gave a slight giggle. "Why hello to you too, Amadia. It's a pleasure to meet you." she bent down a bit and pat the Drakein on the head a bit.
"So...what did you think about that Nayal woman's death. She's an Oblivionite like you. Is that difficult for you? I mean, last I knew she treated you like a piece of dirt, as she did all of us as well. Personally, I couldn't care less to see her go. But hey, we all experienced her wrath that day at the lake." she said, nodding her head a bit and standing back up to put her full attention on Kilian.

"Ah, found yourself a man, huh?" Kilian smiled. He was glad the Dovaa had found herself a mate and was happy. It seemed to have also mellowed her out a bit. Kilian smirked at the thought. He remembered how feisty she had been all those years ago. He thought about the scar on his back. He was proud of it. "The scar.... If it meant getting another one, I'd still do it over again to protect that person." He had never come so close to admitting his feelings for Erionda to anyone before. He couldn't even let Erionda know so why was he telling someone he'd only met once, long ago? "I am glad you are happy." He said, trying to switch the attention from what he'd said to her.
Amadia chirped and made happy noises as she was patted by the Dovaa. I like her. She said as she looked over at Kilian. He gave a slight nod at that. He did too.
Kilian crossed his arms and frowned at the mention of Nayal. He had heard about what had happened but hadn't been home much to see the impact it had had on Soudul. He hadn't even been mildly upset. Sure, she was an important figure to the Oblivionites but the one time he'd met her she'd been such a b***h. He shrugged and looked around for any near by Oblivionites. It was all he needed, one to over hear him talking about the deceased Nayal. "I didn't rightly care too much about her. I'm not saying I'm glad she's dead but it's not turned my world upside down."
Kilian's lips tightened into a straight line. "This stupid war. I may be a battler and an Oblivionite but that doesn't mean I have to agree with everything they say." He shook his head. "I have a..." Kilian struggled for the appropriate word and finally settled on friend. "Friend...that you wouldn't even imagine an Oblivionite to be around, let alone befriend. She's a Dovaa and Orderite hybrid." A smile flitted across his face. "If I were to be discovered around her, Goddess only knows what they'd do to me." He grimaced at the thought and the stories he had heard. "I may feign interest in the Great Engagement but it is only so that I survive. I want nothing to do with it, in all honesty. Except maybe doing all I can to end it." Though he knew that that was an impossible task he did wish there was some kind of organization he could join that was dedicated to that very task. A kind of...rebellion.

Kavanna smiled at boy's words. She knew all too well about forbidden love. She wished to get to know this girl some as well, had they ever the chance to meet. Obviously, she knew that Kilian was only just a boy when they last met, and it had been years since last they did. But hearing the story he told, gave Kavanna a new respect for him. Even though he was an Oblivionite without a soul, he did seem to find comfort in someone. Just because he hadn't a soul didn't mean he hadn't a heart.
"Yes...I have found myself a man. And he's perfect. He works for the Order's Guard in Serenia so he's hardly home. But we have a beautiful son together and he's growing up more and more by the day. I wish I was able to see him more too. He's now studying in the Celestial Plane. I stay on Serenia to care for my mother-in-law." she paused. She knew where this was going to go. But if he had a friend that was a Hybrid and them not even being an Oblivionite whatsoever, maybe he wouldn't be so judgmental.
"You see...he's an Orderite. My family didn't take well to it at first but after a while, they grew to love him and his family as well. The only one that hadn't gotten past the fact is my mother, and we haven't heard from her since before Damian, our son, was born." she said, a distraught look on her face. She brought her hand up behind her neck and began to scratch at the nagging itch that seemed to creep up whenever she was nervous.
"I'm all too well versed in forbidden love. I was excommunicated from the Celestial Plane for many years. Luckily my son doesn't resemble an Orderite, aside from his angelic wings, which are easily hid. So after much turmoil with the situation, they finally let me back in. He lives there now with my father. I just hope he isn't found out. He would have a much worse fate now." she concluded.
She knew what it would be like to be found out, she's been through that. Of course, excommunication with your race and family is a tough thing, but hopefully he would make it through with this woman by his side. The way he talked about her...was she really just a friend?
"I don't want to pry, but your scar...you said you obtained that because you were protecting someone? Would that someone be the friend you just described to me?" a sly smile crept upon her face. She was happy for the boy, especially if he was happy. Even though it was a forbidden thing to do, you couldn't help who you love. She knew that better than anyone else. She had lived through the pain and suffering and yet it made her all the better for it.
"I'm sure either way, your friend appreciates your loyalty whether you attend to the needs of the war or not. I do agree, the Great Engagement should be ended by any means. But until either the Oblivionites or the Orderites win the war, I don't foresee that in the future anytime soon." she said with a concerned look. She would love to see the war end just as Kilian had said he wanted it. She agreed with him upon that point. The Dovaa believed that one day there would be something out there to help stop this war. If there wasn't, than the world would just end in chaos.

Kilian listened to Kavanna talk. It seemed as though she had been through a lot in the years they hadn't talked. She had been through so much heartache and troubles that it amazed Kilian she was so friendly towards him. He remembered her reactions towards Nayal and though she hadn't been as frosty to him, he could tell that she would have rather of been somewhere else at that point in time.
So it amazed him to be standing here, talking like they were old buddies. "You must love them very much to leave your child and home." Kilian said as he began walking through the market. He felt strange and rather exposed just standing in one spot. His need to move overtook him. Kavanna had a child. It was so strange to hear about but he supposed that was normal. They were older now. It was a normal occurrence, he knew that.
Kilian started at Kavanna's question. She was very perceptive. Either that or Kilian was too easy to read. He sighed and nodded his head. The scar on his back tingled, like it did from time to time. A reminder of what he'd done for her. "Yes, it was my friend..." He was hesitant. Were his feelings really love? Or was it too soon? He wasn't sure yet. "My family doesn't know about Erionda yet." Kilian fingered the jeweled necklace inside his pocket and let out a sigh. "I'm sure they wouldn't mind her as my friend." He put emphasis on the word friend.
Kilian was grateful for the change of subject, though he wasn't all too happy to talk about the war. "What about the Dovaas? You guys get dragged into all this too. You say you want it to end but that the only way is for either the Oblivionites or Orderites to win." He frowned. "Who would you rather win? Who would do a better job at controlling things? Each race has their pitfalls." He knew what her answer would be. It was obvious. She was married to an Orderite and lived with them as well.

Kavanna nodded and smiled. It was very strange how the two seemed to just click after all these years; not to mention the fact that they weren't close to begin with. He had done her bidding all those years ago and now it seemed as though he was doing this Erionda girl's bidding now. It was definitely nice to catch up with him.
"I do, I love them very much. That family saved my life. I still visit, of course, but I've had a distaste for the Celestial Plane ever since my excommunication. I only go back on special occasions to visit my family there." she said. She then began to follow the Oblivionite as he started walking. As fine as she was standing there, if he needed to walk a bit, it was fine that she followed; after all, she wasn't done talking with him.
Was he trying to be obvious? Sure he may have tried to deter her from thinking that they were more than friends, but his attempts had failed. Kav noticed how he looked when speaking about her. There had to be some type of attraction there. She had no doubt about it now.
"I would love to meet this, Erionda, one day. If she means that much to you, even though she isn't of the Oblivionite race, than she must be someone special. After all, you don't take a hit and risk your life for someone you don't care about, right?" she said with a smile as she walked beside him.
Kavanna was definitely one to want to know things about other people. She was always interested in their ways, thoughts, and reasoning. Getting deep down to their very own beliefs. She would ask questions when necessary and always figure out the truth; a downfall of hers...being overly curious about other's lives when it was actually of no concern to her. That's how she was, she couldn't help it. She liked her ways and oftentimes people did appreciate talking to a stranger (or an acquaintance in this case) rather than those closest to them. She had seen that many times so far with Kadryn, Rosetta, Esmeralda, and Maslin...and it always seemed to work. Why not dive into Kilian's personal life as well?

Kilian coultn't imagine not seeing his familiy often. Even though he traveled a lot, he still made it a point to return home so his family wouldn't miss him. This trip to Eowyn, however, was turning out to be an extended stay. Not only was the Kiandri dragons here and he was hunting them, Erionda's home was here as well. It seemed to keep him here.
Kilian put his hands behind his head, lacing his fingers together, as they walked along the town, talking. "I suppose you're right. I do have feelings for her. It's just...complicated." He let out a long sigh as his arms dropped back down to his sides. "I get mixed feelings from her though. I'm not even sure she feels the same. I mean...why would someone like her want to be with someone like me?" He frowned at the thought. He was soulless and it was so painfully obvious that Erionda had a soul that was vibrant. She deserved so much better than him, that was for sure.

Tangled Puppet Sorry for taking FOREVER to respond to this. I don't want to drag it out much longer since I'm sure you guys are much further in your relationship now haha. Kavanna shook her head and stopped dead in her tracks. She placed a hand upon Kilian's shoulder, forcing him to stop as well.
"Don't think like that at all Kilian. You're a great person, anyone can see it just by looking at you. Don't think you're any less of a person than anyone else. As far as I'm concerned, you're probably the best of the Oblivionite race. I'm in your shoes as well. That...forbidden romance is a sad ordeal, since you must deal with the consequences. But I really hope it all works out for you in the end." she said, a smile creeping upon her face.

Kilian's steps faltered as Kavanna stopped. The hand on his shoulders was enough to make him stop. Her grip firm enough to show that she meant what she was about to say.
His cheeks flamed as she spit out praises to him. Kilian was not use to hearing others talk about him like this. He turned his face away from Kavanana, unable to look at her as she told him these things. His sockets widened as she confessed her own problems to him.
"You too?" The question came out on a whisper as Kilian's gaze shot back to Kavanana. So she had someone she loved too, that she wasn't suppose to. His lips thinned at the unfairness of their situations. Why should they not be free to love who they pleased? "I will make it work. She's worth it. I promise you that." Kilian's words were strong, a conviction set in his voice that hadn't been there before.
