NOTE: THIS IS A YOUNGLING! <3
Nyah is Tahigwa's adoptive sister and is only about two or three years old.

Name: Nyah (Meaning: "Purpose")
Race: Alkidike
Gender: Female
3 Base Traits:

Jittery
(Nervous or unable to relax)

Slow

Focused

Class: Blade -> Warrior -> Sacred Heart (Bow)

Personality:

Description:

Sketch

Clothing: No clothes on a Youngling! >D
Accessories:
A simple gold headband made out of tree bark and gold dye.
I hate to use an existing character as an example, but please make the headband look similar to Kayin's. <3
History:

In late winter, upon Isle Ekene, a dew drop covered lotus bloomed and produced a tiny, wide eyed Youngling. She was frail and cried like no other before her, at least that's what her parents remarked. They carried her off from the Isle, cooing and soothing, and gave her a name suitable to such a sweet, emotive child. "Nyah", meaning "Purpose."

Her name spoke volumes to her mothers, Najala and Ezirae, they had been pining for her for many years. She was their purpose, their reason for being. Nyah was swaddled in love, bathed in love, and given affections beyond what many would call the call of duty, but neither woman could bear to see their child hiccup or cry. This was not their nature, they wanted her to grow up strong, beautiful, but also filled with kindness and empathy. Their baby girl would be a lovely example for what love could produce, if used in the proper amount.

Then, the village of Andile, where the three had settled upon, woke one day to find that something wasn't right. Najala, Ezirae, and Nyah hadn't come out of their dwelling for weeks, even months, and no one had bother to check on them. One Alkidike, Luljeta who was very close with both women, took it upon herself to enter the home in search of why they may have gone missing. Upon entering the dwelling, the scent of rotting flesh filled the room, and Najala and Ezirae's bodies were the source of it. Neither woman was seriously injured, there seemed to be no reason for them to have passed in their sleep, they were both so young and healthy. What could have caused them to pass so suddenly?

All attention was turned to their daughter, Nyah, who was barely more than two years of age. She was found tucked between her mothers, despite the awful smell, and would only leave if Luljeta promised to stay by her side. She recognized Luljeta, she felt safe with her, and soon took to calling her "Mami" when around her. For Luljeta, the loss of her best friends was gutting and left her feeling weak, but the sounds of both her daughters, Tahigwa and now Nyah, kept her from falling into a deep depression. However, towards the end of summer, Luljeta fell ill and was quarantined. The elders were convinced that a disease had taken Najala and Ezirae from their daughter, and Luljeta had contracted it while visiting the home where they lay rotting away. Luljeta's girls were taken from their home and given to her direct sister, Arjeta, to be cared for there.

The third move, from Luljeta's safety to Arjeta's strict rule, took more of a visible toll on Tahigwa than it could be seen on Nyah. Tahigwa spent most of the first days running away from her aunt or hiding in the forests, while Nyah was left alone with her "cousin", Mirjeta. Eventually, Tahigwa came to somewhat of a term with the situation and agreed to live with her aunt, for her baby sister's sake. Nyah was overjoyed to have an older sister and felt that Tahigwa was exactly the same as Luljeta. Safe, warm, and brave.

I've entered Nyah in the connections event, but I've updated the form from here with the connections form because I completed it. :3

As always, I'll start with the appearance and work to the personality.

Her hair and headband are fine, but her markings are a little all over the place and not very likely on an Alkidike. Alkidike markings take on abstract shapes for the most part and usually have some sort of pattern, like mostly dots, mostly stripes, organic shapes, hard shapes, not really a combination of all of the above. I can run with the suns appearing on herself, but they would be more abstracted like Tahigwa's was. So they could maybe be suns, but mostly just look like some sort of array of markings.

Personality and History:

She's paranoid almost always and delusional most of the time, is there ever a time when she's just happy and carefree like a three year old should be? Toddlers really haven't developed the cognative ability to feel mistrusting of the world, though delusional at her age could really just be overactive imagination? Perhaps she develops the paranoia later in life when she's more mentally capable of feeling it?

What causes her to see these burnt people? Why burnt people? Why something so strange and out of the ordinary that she wouldn't even know what it looked like (burnt bodies)?

If her mothers both died of an illness and Luljeta seems to have contracted it also just from being in the house for that brief amount of time, why hasn't Nyah caught it? She was with her mothers for extended amounts of time while they were still alive and dead.

How did Nyah survive for weeks or months without coming out of the house?

Why is it that moving from Luljeta's to Arjeta's care had more of an effect on Tahigwa rather than Nyah when Nyah is paranoid of the world? Wouldn't she have started seeing some sort of delusional version of Arjeta or been unreasonably afraid of her or something?

As always, whatever you need to do with the appearance is good with me! <3

Yes, there are times where she is happy, but she's never really carefree. She feels the need for constant security or a hand to hold. It's not so much "I'M GOING TO DIE WITHOUT YOU" than "Please don't leave me alone in this big crowd...", she's afraid of being left on her own again. An over active imagination could compensate for a large portion of her delusions, but they are very vivid to her, like she feels as if she could touch them is how vivid they are.

The "burnt people" are shadow-like delusions. Essentially, any shadow can become one of these, but human-like shadows are typically what she sees. I guess you could say that what look like simple shadows to us, are dark, menacing people to Nyah.

No one is entirely certain what killed Nyah's mothers, all they know is that they passed away in their sleep and didn't have any external trauma. Whatever Luljeta contracted could have been what killed them, something entirely different, or a malady from an unaddressed internal wound she could have had. (Because she had been attacked by that animal and lost her leg, she could have had more unseen injuries to her insides that may have left her weak to infection) They quarantined her because they didn't have enough information but based the reasoning off of her having come in contact with Nyah's mothers.

Regardless, Nyah could still be in danger of falling ill herself. No one knows what the disease was, or how it kills, all they know is that something killed two beloved women and it could strike again. All they can say is that it may have something to do with fevers, upset stomach, and increased fatigue, which is what Luljeta displayed. Nyah hasn't shown any signs of falling ill, which is a relief, but that doesn't mean that the disease doesn't linger within the body before striking at random. (If you want more info on the disease, because it will be a plot, just ask. :3)

Nyah could have snuck out or made do with what her mothers had left behind. To be honest, I actually haven't thought of that. |3 However, she could have sought help from Luljeta and that's how her mothers were found. Whatever sounds more feasible.

Tahigwa doesn't get along with Arjeta. Arjeta is strict, fairly grumpy and doesn't take back talk from anyone, so naturally moving in with "dear aunt Arjeta" isn't going to sit well with little Tahigwa. In Nyah's case, though she may exhibit apprehension or anxiety towards Arjeta, she trusts that Luljeta wouldn't give her away to just anyone. Plus, Nyah is fairly young and Arjeta is far more lenient with her than she is with Tahigwa and her own daughter. You could say that because Nyah is little, she's treated differently in terms of chores and being told off.

Alright, most of that sounds pretty alright, and having shadows look menacing is a good enough explanation for her "burnt people" thing.

I do have a couple more questions about this disease though. If Nyah was with her mothers for so long and Luljeta caught it also, why wouldn't the others want to quarantine Nyah to make sure that the disease doesn't spread? Wouldn't they want to make sure that more people don't start falling ill?

Luljeta started to fall ill quickly after visiting the home, Nyah hasn't shown any signs of being sick or even feeling sick. Keep in mind that Luljeta was already weakened by her injuries and may have been more vulnerable to contracting the illness. Sure, Nyah is kid, but her immune system could have been stronger than Luljeta's at the time. :3

Anyway, I'm going to put Nyah on hold for a while, I want Tahigwa to be at least half-way through stage two before getting her. <3

While she's on hold, I thought I would let you know that I've decided that this girl I drew as a possible concept for Nessie, will be used as a ref for Nyah's Prentice stage. <3 This

> I don't think I plan on getting Nyah until Tahigwa is closer to her third stage.
> Nyah might be bumped up to Prentice like Ogbonna was, because I like the idea of her running around Jauhar and causing issues as a young Prentice rather than a Youngling.
> Also, her personality will be altered when I have more time. :3

Notice: Nyah won't be actively quested until all this happens

- Yaholo is in stage three
- Natsu is in stage three
- Viveka and Rastian are close to stage three
- Pahana and Tahigwa are close to stage three
- Ogbonna is close to stage three
- Yaholo has his daughter or son
- Sasaya is being actively quested

She will be remaining a Youngling. :3
