Amarilla was so tired.
Finals were over (thank god), and her brain felt like it was on a permanent, or at least extremely extended vacation. All she had wanted to do when she got home that friday was pass out on her bed. But she had a schedule to keep, and that meant going out and running around Destiny City dressed as a girl straight from a Renaissance fair.
So she donned the guise of Esquiline and took to the streets, following her usual route that passed by Destiny City University. Maybe she would see one of her professors in their classes grading. Then she could sneak a peek at her grade! The thought made her pick up the pace until she was by the track, where she slowed. That reminded her, she needed to give Trevor a call and see if he would come over...
Esquiline shook the lovely boy's head form her mind. Now was not the time to be thinking about dates. Not when some awful youma could pop up literally out of nowhere and attempt to devour her before she could find out what she got in her Chilhood and Culture class. Unacceptable!

Leucite tried to avoid DCU when he could - it was never good to gather energy near when you slept - but he was in crunch time with exams and he knew that wouldn't fly for an excuse if he didn't gather energy. Not only that, but his own reserve was running low after the last couple fights he'd been in - so he didn't want to risk running out of his own personal stash. He tended to hang out by the athletic buildings mainly because there were more people to drain there later in the day - and also more energy to drain per person. Win/Win all around. However, he frowned now, feeling the signature of another ping on his radar - and not one of his own. Grousing, he moved along the wall till he could see the track. He didn't see anyone at first, so he slowly moved out into the open, keeping his eyes peeled as he tried to stick to the darker areas. He followed his radar toward the source of the energy - he wasn't great at it, but he at least knew he was going the right direction.

Esquiline was making her way from one classroom to another...just in case, when she felt a ping in the back of her head. Or more like pressure she figured, feeling her temple. None of her professors were around, and she sighed glumly. A whole night wasted. And she could have been enjoying a gin and tonic at home in her best pajamas and trashy english subtitled korean dramas. But noooo the world had to be in peril!
The pressure increased, and she spun in a circle slowly peering through the darkness. Was there someone out there? She considered calling out, but decided that surprise was her best interest if the other turned out to be an enemy. The pink haired page found a large bush, and ducked behind it, gathering her skirts up to her knees in tight wads to prevent the bright fabric from showing from behind the leaves.
"Alright, let's see who we are dealing with." she whispered, blowing her bangs out of her eyes.

Leucite HATED being out in the open. He preffered to spring ambushes when he could - or at the very least see the enemy coming. But it was dark - some idiot had deemed it necessary to turn the track lights off tonight, so those were of no help. A blessing and a curse really. his dark blue uniform tended to fade into the night - granted the gold accoutrement of his uniform probably stood out in the dark - but he didn't have a chance to worry about that at the moment. Leucite moved slowly through the dark, taking his time and letting his eyes adjust, once he was able to make out shapes and some details, he moved with a bit more confidence, but he still kept a slow pace. Passing by some bushes, he felt the pull of his radar grow strong, but he still didn't speak. If the enemy was out there - he wanted them to make the first move.

At first she did not see him coming. She looked through her small hole in the bush for what seemed like forever, but she couldn't find the reason of the pressure in her head. Only when she began to shift did she notice that one part of the darkness was wavering, and edges of clothing could sometimes be seen. She pulled the gold hair piece from her hair. Though no bigger than a tuning fork used in music, she figured the element of surprise might make it seem scarier.
Esquiline took a deep breath and forsook her cover, leaping free and pointing the hair ornament at where she thought she saw him last.
"Hey! What are you doing out here?"

Leucite thanked god and all the saints that her outfit was by far more brightly colored than his. Even in the inky black of the near darkness - without even decent moonlight to sight by - he could make out the vague outline of her outfit and her personage. He wasn't exactly sure what she was pointing in his general direction, but he already knew that he wasn't in the mood for games. "I could ask the same of you, Sweetheart," The voice had sounded female, even if he couldn't make out the full breadth of her features. "What's a pretty girl like you doing out here in the bushes, being naughty with a boy perhaps?"He tried to keep his tone level almost - upset that he was being accosted in the middle of the night on campus. She screamed order - and it was making him twitchy. "Well, I'll answer yours when you answer mine."

Esquiline colored when she accused him of being in the dark with a boy. How rude! And very untrue. She had her own apartment, why on earth would she be out here in the dark when she could be at home with someone? And more importantly, why was she even denying what she was doing in that? She wouldn't do that in the first place!
But this kid was trying to mess with her head. She reapplied her focus on the voice, and adjusted her point so that it more accurately faced her opponent. Now that he had spoken, she had found him in the dark and could better focus on his face.
"I'm out here making sure people like you don't hurt anyone. Especially teachers trying to do their jobs."

Leucite wondered for a moment just how much he could toy with this one. He didn't know why he took such an enjoyment in playing with their heads before he brutalized them - maybe it was because they were so easy to mess with. "Whoa, hurt people?" Leucite sounded properly confused he thought. "Why would I do that! I'm part of the ROTC program here, we were having a party in Blues and it was getting late and I needed to get the hell back home and I got lost in the dark."He gave it 80:20 odds she wouldn't buy it - but on the off-chance she did he might be able to convince her to guide him to "safety" then pounce when she was properly lulled. "I mean, I'm not the one lurking around the bushes like a creeper right?" He chuckled sheepishly. "I mean, you'd be a bit snippy too if someone jumped out of the bushes at you and waved something in your face..."Oh he knew he was giving off an chaos energy signature - but how accurate could her senses be - maybe there was a youma around. "So uhm... I kinda can't really see you in the dark but...are you like part of some cosplay club or something?" That's right Leucite - play dumb.

Her arms wavered for just a moment. Now that she was paying full attention to him, he did look a bit like an ROTC member...
But the Chaos signal was a dead giveaway. Her face colored more when he accused her of being a creeper.
"I was not lurking!" she protested hotly. "I heard someone coming and did not want to be attacked!" Her instincts were telling her that perhaps this one wasn't so quick to jump to attacking as the others had been. Maybe he really was just on his way home, and decided a powerup was safer than going it civilian style.
"No, I'm not part of a cosplay group." she said, taking a step backwards. His calmness was unnerving. "You know what I am, just like I know what you are."

"I haven't the foggiest clue what - or who - you are, ma'am, I just know that I've had a fair bit to drink, I'm tired - it's dark, I'm lost and I want to go home." Leucite allowed himself to huff and whine a little bit, rubbing his temples with his hands like he was nursing a headache. He slowly walked toward her, intending to keep the ruse up as long as possible - unless she attacked him - then it was going to be no holds barred business time. He twisted his face into a frown, reaching out for her in the dark. "Look, I can barely see, can I get a hand or what? This really isn't funny, and if the Major and the guys put you up to this, I'm sorry - but this is getting out of hand."He stumbled toward her, "groping" in the dark as he tried to keep up the ruse. He started listing to his right, trying to look like the "drinking" was finally hitting him.
"Look... can you just get me to the dorms? I'll... do whatever you want me to do after that - but please? I'd rather not be sick and spend the night out here..." He allowed a bit of panic to creep into his voice. "Please?"
He was still reaching out for her, all she had to do was take his hand...

This wasn't going how she imagined it would.
She withdrew her hands, placing them close to her chest. He really wasn't acting like a Negaverse agent, more like a drunk idiot. Could you even power up when intoxicated? She placed that in the back of her mind to be weary of.
She sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. The first time she gets a drop on a bad guy, and it turns out to be a bad guy with too much to drink and lacking in subtlety. She placed the hair pin back into her hair, but keep one eye on the man in front of her. She couldn't trust him as far as she could throw him. But heck, maybe she could ask him some questions about his faction, and she could always go back to the place to find out his civilian identity...
"Alright look." She said, holding her hand out to stop him from advancing. "I will help you back, but you have to give me directions. And I won't go down any creepy alleyways or anything like that."
No use taking her chances.
She twisted her held up hand into a held out hand. Alarm bells were ringing in her head, but she muted them.

This was going better than expected, but Leucite wasn't going to hope solely on luck to see him through the evening. With a quick nod, wincing to mimic someone who's moving too fast for their body's liking, he took her hand in a semi-firm grip. He had to fight back the urge to bend that hand back until it snapped at the wrist, but that would have to wait until they got somewhere where he could actually fight. "My dorm is that way," he motioned vaguely towards the dorms. There was one benefit for being a student at DCU, at least he knew his way around well enough to bluff. "I'm probably go to catch so much hell from the guys being dragged home like this..." he chuckled weakly, letting her lead them on. That is, until they hit their first street light and he could actually see her well enough to make combat an option. As they hit the first street light, he chuckled again. This one was a little darker. His grip on her hand became a vice and he started to twist her wrist and her arm toward her back as he moved the rest of his body to try and get her in a behind the back arm-bar, a hand moving for her throat. If she struggled hard enough, she would probably be able to avoid the arm bar, but she was gonna have to do some seriously wailing on him to get him to let go of that hand and wrist. "Remember that nagging little doubt you had? Probably should have listened to it."

As soon as he took her hand, she regretted it. She was in the grasp of a stranger who was either drunk or a bad guy that she should be beating into a pulp. She led him through the campus, following his directions. He knew where he was going, that was for sure. It gave her a bit of ease to know that. Maybe he really was just a dumb student....
Until they were flooded with streetlight. Then his grip became menacing rather than necessary, and her whole body stiffened as he chuckled. That was a chuckle of someone with ill intent on their mind. She realized too late that she was right the first time.
Her arm went behind her, and she instinctively pulled forward, feeling her arm stretch in the socket. Bad idea. Another arm came around her face, and she lurched out and under it. Her heart started to pump adrenaline through her veins, and the first thing she thought to do was kick behind her with her right leg into his shin.

Grunting as he felt her heel impact his shin, He cursed and let her go. This was not going as planned, but truth be told, it was going slightly better than it could have. Though really - what was it with these girls and not knowing how to fight! They were at war for God's sake. They should at least have taken some basic self defense! Almost every knight or senshi he'd fought up till now had either ran away crying from him or fought like a scrub. The shin kick hurt, but was far less effective than she would have hoped. Leucite was used to taking hits - from bigger and stronger opponents than she. Granted, none of them went for the shin - mainly because it was just one of those places that hurt to hit barefoot, but still. Growling, he lashed out at her, one hand going for her hair in an attempt to pull her back toward him while the other went to punch her in the neck. He was trying to be brutal, to drive home the point that she was not ready to face a foe in real combat. Maybe it would be enough to send her skittering home so he could gather energy in peace.

She felt her shoe impact his shin, and heard him grunt. She aimed again, hoping that he would just let her go. Mentally she was berating herself. You are such an idiot she thought, feeling his hand wrap around her hair. There was a lot of it, by far the easiest part of her to grasp.
How could she let this happen? Her instincts were telling here there was something wrong with the situation, and yet she ignored it why? Because she hoped that he was just a poor soul that needed help.
Her heart was hammering away, bouncing against her ribcage in a painful manner. Her arms went around her head, one hand grabbing his and trying to release her hair. The punch for her neck hit her arm, and she hissed.
"Let go!" she managed to strangle out past her fear and adrenaline.
She was so not ready for this.
