Kiera had told her where they needed to go next, and had given her point, likely because she now had a big shiny gun with which to shoot at things with, though when she checked the chamber there had only been one bullet.
Great. Better keep it and make it count, then.
Revving up her engine, and wincing at the sound as she was sure it would attract predators, Lydia was off, with Kiera following close behind.
And tree. Bu-bump. Lydia winced at the sound of scraping metal, and hoped that it hadn't hurt her vehicle too much.

Lydia would know the pain of taking the brunt of stuff. Kiera was glad she had healed up nicely since the first attack.
She would have shouted encouragement, really, but making noise would probably just attract more creatures their way.

Okay, okay. The road had leveled out, and cleared, leaving nothing blocking their path as she continued on. Casting a quick glance over her shoulder, she gave Kieara a thumbs up to show that things were still okay, even if her vehicle had just gotten a little beaten up.
Hopefully it wasn't much further.

WHERE THE HELL DID THAT BOULDER COME FROM?
Lydia swerved her vehicle in an attempt to avoid, but still impacted hard on the passenger side of her vehicle.
And of course, then the engine quit. It was not going to start again, either. This 4 wheeler was toast, and it's occupant stumbled back out, clutching her items in a stunned daze.
"..........I'll walk. For now."

Oh, bloody hell. At least Lydia wasn't injured in the resulting crash, but God she wasn't sure how much more she could take watching near incidents like this . . .
"I'll keep an eye out," Kiera muttered, back on the edge again as far as nerves went. "Maybe we'll happen along something on the way. Half way there."

The only reason Lydia felt remotely safe while walking, was knowing that she could jump into the other 4 wheeler at any time. Also she had slung the medkit with her ice pack over her shoulder, was walking in new shoes, and had her shotgun cocked, locked, and at the ready in case something should jump out at her.
Which they never did. "How much further?"

"There." She pointed out a little to the northwest as a building stood just above the treetops. "Just a bit further that way."
Kiera paused, then added with a little grin, "You look like someone out of the action fliks. I'm impressed. Here I thought you were just a piss-carrying tree-hugger."

"Tree hugger?" What a misconception! She'd never hugged a tree in her life! "You know, urine has a lot of uses. As do boogers. Bigfoot's love boogers."
Glancing in the direction that Kiera pointed to, she veered in that direction.
For once they actually made it to where they needed to go without being attacked once.
Rocks and tree's totally didn't count.
