Tahigwa had been spending the day swinging from tree to tree as usual. She loved to hang upside down and launch herself upon the next tree, it was just as fun as running! Sometimes she'd fall down and bump herself on something, but she'd just get back up on her feet again. Tough little Tahigwa doesn't need a cuddle or a kiss to make her "boo-boos" better, no sir!
Today was also a very exciting day for Tahigwa. She was anticipating her "older brother", Yaholo's arrival, as he often walked down this path to visit the other Alkidikes. Much like a hungry jaguar, she skulked around the trees and peered around until, at last, she spotted him. "YAHOLO!" She squealed, latching herself onto his shoulders. "I thought you would never come back! Who are you going to see today? I can take you! You can meet my mother!" She continued to squeal and ramble on to him as they walked, her arms wrapped tightly around his head.

Yaholo had been through this part of the forest many a time and had grown accustomed to being latched onto by a certain enthusiastic Youngling. He chuckled and reached up to fluff her hair a little as he continued along the path. She was such an adorable child, even if she was keen on getting into trouble with the other Alkidikes. He found her quite humorous, despite her irritability.
"Aaaahaa!" He laughed. "Looks like you caught me again, Tahi! You always know when I'm coming back for a visit, don't you?" He patted her on the head again before sighing. "You know what the elder said, sweetheart. Your mother is too sick for visitors, I wasn't allowed to go in. But I would love to meet the mother of such an adorable little tree climber!" The pair of them began to laugh and chat together as they wandered along the path.

Ilyra had been looking for Tahigwa everywhere! Finally she heard her voice, though it was kind of far in the distance and there was another voice. A male one? What male did Tahigwa know? Carefully she raced towards the voices, trying to make sure that she wasn't heard or seen.
Finally she could see Tahigwa and Yaholo and her eyes grew wide. He was like them! An Alkidike, but he was a boy and he also had funny colored skin like her! "Tahigwa you've been holding out on me!! Who is this!" she said excitedly as she ran up to the pair. While Tahigwa was wrapped around his head she went straight to clinging on his leg. If Tahigwa thought he was cling worthy, then he had to be! Plus he was different like her, and that was always exciting!

"Whoooaaa!" Yaholo gasped. He hadn't expected another Youngling to be hanging around! This one was interesting looking, too! Was she a half-breed or something else? He knelt down, allowing Tahigwa to hop off of his shoulders, and greeted Ilyra with a hug. "Well, hi there!" He exclaimed, chuckling. "I don't think I've ever seen an Alkidike like you before! What are you doing out here all by yourself?"

Tahigwa squealed with glee at the sight of Ilyra and happily hobbled off of Yaholo's head as he knelt down to greet her. "Ilyra! I know, I know, I KNOW!" She cried, giving her best friend a quick hug. "This is Yaholo, and he's my mom's missing baby! Remember I told you that story? THIS IS HIM! I FOUND HIM!"

Ilyra smiled. "Well that's because I'm one of a kind! Or at least that's what my new mamma tells me." she said with a laugh at Yaholo. "I've never seen an Alkidike like you either! And my new mamma said it's okay to explore, as long as I'm close to either our home tree or where these sisters live. Plus, I knew Tahigwa was here. And she say's that being with Tahigwa is good for me." Ilyra said with a nod before turning all her attention towards Tahigwa.
She returned Tahigwa's hug and gasped out loud when she told Ilyra who the boy was. "No way!! You found him!" she said in awe, looking at Yaholo in a new light. "How did you find him! Oh your mom will be soooooooooooo happy!" she said excitedly hugging Tahigwa once again.

"Well, it's fantastic to see another 'one of a kind' out here!" Yaholo replied, grinning. "I'm part Leaf Tribe, which is why I look different. Most of the time, I live with my father's family, but I love to travel to Jauhar and visit my fellow sisters." He turned and ruffled Tahigwa's hair. "Especially Tahi, here. She's always a barrel of excitement!"
Then, he paused, and gave a perplexed look to Tahigwa. Did she just say that her mother was his mother...? His long lost mother? The one who didn't come to get him when he was born?! He placed a hand on Tahigwa's shoulder, a look of shock on his face.
"You haven't told me this, Tahigwa!" He exclaimed. "Is she really my mother...?"

"I KNOW I KNOOOOW!" Tahigwa squealed, hugging Ilyra. "She just needs to get better and he can go see her!" This was all so exciting! Her best friend was meeting her big brother and they were all getting along so well! Then, when Yaholo addressed her, she paused. Oops, right. She didn't let him know. Letting him know that her mother was his mother would have been the first step to filling him in on the reunion plans, wouldn't it have been? She smiled, took a breath, and hugged Yaholo.
"My mom said she couldn't get my older brother because he got lost," She explained. "He got on the wrong boat home and got left in the forest. No one bothered to look for him and told my mom to move on." She puffed out her cheeks and shook her head. "But I said that I would find my big brother and bring him home one day! Mom said that he would be half-Leaf tribe and half-Alkidike, which is what you are! SO YOU MUST BE HIM!" She squealed and turned to Ilyra again. "WE SHOULD GO SNEAK INTO MY MOM'S HOUSE AND REUNITE THEM!" She cried.

Ilyra was so excited for Tahigwa! Maybe now that she found her brother, her mother would get all better! She had to so she could meet her son! When Yaholo interrupted their little part she tilted her head. "You didn't realize she was your sister! Come on, I knew that from the first time I saw you two!" so maybe she hadn't known that exactly, but she had a good feeling. Plus Tahigwa had recently told her the story.
When Tahigwa suggested sneaking into her mothers house Ilyra jumped up and down with glee. Yes! Sneaking was something that the two of them did best. "She is going to be SOOOOOO happy when she sees him! So when are we going to do it!" She was ready, more then ready, all Tahigwa had to do was say the word.

Yaholo seemed to space out for a moment or so. Tahigwa was his little sister? That was why she followed him around and clung to him so much? No wonder she had been so desperate for him to meet her mother! That was his mother, too! He watch the pair giggle on a little longer before a smile grew on his face.
"I think we should try and sneak in today." He said, although he was quite unsure how he was going to sneak in, being so tall and freaking obvious to spot. "I would love to meet my- our, mother, Tahigwa! I've been waiting for so long!"

"WE SHOULD DO IT NOW!" Tahigwa squealed, practically bouncing out of her own skin. This was going to be AWESOME! Yaholo was going to meet their mother, Tahigwa was going to get to sneak around with her best friend, and no one could stop them! She grabbed Ilyra's hand and began to race forward, waving Yaholo along. "Come on! Hurry! She's really hard to wake up once she falls asleep! Let's go, let's go, LET'S GO!"

Today! Now! Well she didn't want to wait, but still now! It was all so spontaneous and exciting. Luckily she had told Briella that she wouldn't be back to later. She had told her she would be with the sisters in the village where Tahigwa lived, and it wasn't really a lie. Even if Yaholo was a boy he was still a sister! He had antennas! When Tahigwa grabbed her hand she started to run as fast as she could at her side. What an adventure! "COME ON SLOWPOKE!!! FASTER!!" she called back towards Yaholo as the two younglings raced towards Tahigwa's house.

"WHOA! Wait up you two!" Yaholo called, leaping up from his kneeling position to race after the two girls. Wow, was he really going to meet his mother? This was all going to happen? It seemed like a dream! What would she think of him? Would she be proud? Oooo, he didn't want to start thinking about that just yet!

Tahigwa lead Ilyra and Yaholo through the forests and to the back of a small, but sturdy looking house that stood at the edge of the village where she lived. There, she paused and motioned for both Ilyra and Yaholo to be quiet, before crawling through an opening in the side of the house.
Once inside, she tip toed around the room, which happened to be the kitchen, and waved Ilyra and Yaholo forward. "She's in this room!" She whispered. "But be quiet, there are spies everywhere!" Carefully, she moved along the walls and peered into a room where, sure enough, an Alkidike lay among blankets and pillows. After a moment or so of glancing around to make sure no one else was in the room, Tahigwa shuffled up onto the bed where the woman lay.
"Mom! It's Tahigwa!" She chirped, gently nuzzling her mother's shoulder. "Are you awake...?"
"T...Tahi-gwa...?" Her mother said weakly. "What are you doing here...?"
"I found my older brother! He's here!" Tahigwa replied, squealing. "Do you want to see him?!"
"Your o-older...B-brother...?" Her mother replied, her eyes growing wide. "Th...Tha...That's impossible!"
"It is not!" Tahigwa protested. "Go get him Ilyra!"

Ilyra kept close to Tahigwa. She already knew where Tahigwa lived, but she had never came this way. She was as silent as a mouse, making sure that she was heard by no one! When Tahigwa said there were spies Ilyra looked around, narrowing her eyes. No spies would be messing this up for them! Tahigwa would reunite Yaholo and their mother!
She waited, and when Tahigwa's mother spoke up she waved to her happily. When Tahigwa told her to go get Yaholo she nodded before running towards where the boy was and grabbing his hand. "Come on! It's time!" she said pulling him towards where Tahigwa and her mother were. She kept her eyes on Tahigwa's mother's face, eager to see her reaction.
