Lydia stumbled out of the Main Dining hall, out into the fresh and open air of the island, gasping for breath. She was only a few shaking steps out the door before she found herself falling, sinking to her knees in the dirt, her body racking with shivers and her hands coming up to her mouth, either to stifle sobs or in an attempt to force back the bile that was rising in her throat. Her whole body ached, and blood was still oozing from open wounds that itched and burned. She had left her canvas bag behind, a thought that for some reason only made the tears flow faster. It was ridiculous. Her new friend was dying, possibly even dead, and she was finding herself more upset by a bag, one that contained notes, photographs, and various other useless paraphernalia.
She stayed like this, huddled in on herself, hair a tangled mess, clothes rumpled, torn, and eaten through by webbing, and waited. Though it was foolish not to get up and start moving immediately, she couldn't make herself do so until she knew if others were going to follow her and somehow make it out alive as well.
There was still a tiny part of her that hoped to believe Algie was going to make it.

Kiera had no doubts about Algie's death, and that was what steeled her onward without a glance over her shoulder. Apocalyptic scenario or not, he had been part of /her/ group, and now she had to deal with his death as a burden on her shoulders. Lydia looked awful as well, but damned if she wasn't going to save her arse from this.
"Curiosity Coast isn't too far," Kiera told her between pants, still yanking bits of web off her skin. "We should head there. Lydia--" A sound behind them made her stop, hands made into ready fists--
Ah. Just another guest. She'd seen the woman near Algie and Lydia before. "There's company," she murmured, lowering her hands. "Least you don't looked so banged up. What's your name?"

Tooly came flying out the doors shortly after the two women, nearly tripping over Lydia in her haste to get away from the spider inside. The petite girl had made it out with only minor burns from the webbing and some torn jeans. She winced when she realized just how much of Lydia was now covered in red, irritated skin.
"Jean Toulouse. Call me Tooly." she replied automatically, throwing a frightened look back over her shoulder. Considering the spider still had victims, it probably wouldn't come outside, but she could still distinctly hear the sounds coming from in there. "I really think we should get out of here while the getting's good."
She moved over to Lydia. Algie had introduced them only a short time ago. Part of Tooly felt she had a responsibility towards the wounded lady. So, she gingerly took a hold of Lydia's arm, and tried to coax her to her feet. Tooly called to Kiera. "Can you help me support her, um... what's your name?"

The sounds of footsteps approaching behind her so shortly after her own escape had Lydia's hopes rising. The sound of Kiera's voice, however welcome, quickly dashed those hopes. She gave a small nod of her head, feeling oddly numb inside as she reached up to swipe away the tears that stained her cheeks, rubbing away some of the webbing that still resided there as she did so.
"S-sounds like a....a plan." She murmured, glancing up with red rimmed eyes at the woman who had been their tour guide just the day before. At the mention of company, she cast a quick glance over her shoulder, only to see Jean...or Tooly as she apparently liked to be called.
"Algie?" Her voice was tiny in comparison to her usual, but she had to know, had to have what she knew must have happened to him now confirmed. The other two wouldn't have left him unless he could either have gotten out on his own, or was already dead, she was sure. Not with the way Kiera had been attempting to help him.
With Tooly's help, she struggled to her feet, her body protesting the movement with pain that lanced through every limb. Gritting her teeth against it, she spoke again. "Any chance theres a boat on this coast that's nearby?"

"Kiera." She paused, then took Lydia's other arm and helped steady her. Albeit a bit awkwardly; human interaction wasn't what she was known for.
"Right then. The docks might have a boat left still if it isn't overrun, but there should be supplies in the staff buildings. I know Curiosity coast has a few guns and bandages like the rest. Maybe we can wrestle out a vehicle on the way over."
She cast a wary look around and began to move forward with them, feeling naked and vulnerable.
"Algie is dead," the lab tech went on to say in a neutral tone, unable to sugarcoat it. "The webbing burnt brought too much. I tried..." She trailed off and shook her head. "That won't stop us. We can mourn once we're safe."

There was a man running towards them.
He was rather normal looking, only... he looked panicked. Because giant ******** spider. He was unhurt, and at worst, just had some sticky white stuff in his hair. He had managed to avoid most of the carnage, but then, he'd been playing with his camera, trying his hardest to just get the right candid shot when all hell broke loose. Maybe it was the fact he did yoga and aerobics, maybe it was because he was used to running while looking through a camera lens and dis-attaching himself to what he saw.
Either way he was alive. Others were not. He was sure it would catch up to him, but for now, he was still running on adrenaline.
Stopping just short of the women he stared, panting, catching his breath before he managed to form a few words. "Tell me that some of you might know a way out of the hell hole?" He shot a look to the dining hall- "............you alright though? Not dead?"
The sight of a man, a fellow visitor from the looks of it, running towards them, made Tooly pause. His question, though, surprised her enough to get her to laugh.
"Nope. I'm a zombie." she replied, before it occurred to her that, considering their predicament, that wasn't the most tactful answer. Her brain to mouth filter needed tightening. Tooly refocused on Lydia. "Lydia here isn't doing too well. I'm Tooly, and I'm alright. Kiera there is... okay?"
She turned the last bit into a questions, cause she hadn't thought to check on her. Kiera was moving around and making plans, so, she couldn't be too badly off.

At the confirmation of Algie's demise, Lydia felt her knees buckle, leaving her sagging between the two women that were attempting to keep her upright. She struggled to regain her footing while whispering in a hoarse voice. "He was my mate. My beautiful Merman."
With a long and loud sniffle, she wiped her nose awkwardly with the back of her hand, then resumed nodding as she slowly plodded along between Kiera and Tooly, knowing full well that they would be better off if they just left her behind.
She was dead weight.
With the arrival of a new member to their small party, Lydia gave him a quick glance over, and a small shake of her head before coughing. "Not dead yet. Don't know how long...." She let the negative thought spoken out loud trail off.
"Following Kiera. Supplies." Why did talking seem like such an effort now.
Dorian nodded. "Good good, being not dead is always good. And Tooly? Well I'm sure you handle men very well then. Lydia-" he looked at her, "-I'm sure she will do better once we move away from the threat that is this ******** island, And okay is good. Nice to meet you all even if I already did in passing. Dorian Hart and I want to not get eaten."
Because he was just a ball of sensitivity. He was. Because his spidy sense was tingling. Ladies
No wait that was horrible crippling fear starting to settle in.

"Great idea." Tooly agreed, and grunted as she put more effort into holding Lydia upright as she slumped. "We're headed toward Curiosity Coast. I was there yesterday. It didn't seem too bad, creature wise. I'd definitely steer clear of the Mountain, though. I almost got squished like a sardine in my groups SUV cause of some dragons."
If the creatures were out of control now... Tooly shuddered as remembered what had happened in a new light. The creatures had barely been in control then! What had caused them to go completely off their rocker? The loss of power? Or had the creatures caused that, too? Either way, it seemed the handlers had been able to bribe the creatures with meat, and...
"Sirens!" she suddenly exclaimed. "The creatures behaved when this security car with sirens came to rescue us! If we can find one, maybe we can use it to keep them away?"
She looked to Kiera. "What do you think?"

"I think the less noise you make, the better," Kiera hissed, her eyes darting about. She was almost in your guide mode: if you look to your left, you'll see the impassable ocean. To your right, half destroyed buildings! And we're walking, and we're walking...
"Dorian Hart, welcome aboard again. Keep sharp. Tooley, eyes on our sides. Lydia, do you feel you can walk?"

Lydia felt like she didn't have much to contribute to the conversation, her body still trembling like a leaf with every shaky step that she took. At Kiera's question about whether she could walk, she just turned her head to gaze at her with eyes glazed over with pain.
"Maybe. Slowly, though. If...if you need to go on ahead and leave me..." It hurt to say it out loud, to admit that she was the one that was the weakest link in this group right now and that they would be much better off without dragging her crazy a** around the island. "I'll find a way to manage on my own." She finished after a deep and somewhat steadying breath, pulling herself gently away from both of the women so that she could stand on her own.

Oh holy ******** hell. First a giant spider, and now this?? Lydia wasn't sure which was worse. Scurrying out of the trees in front of them came a crab the size of a large pony, pinchers snapping at them, eyes swiveling, and a hissing sound emitting from it's mouth.
They were so screwed.

Tooly's hands hovered over Lydia's arm for a moment, waiting to make sure the lady wasn't just going to collapse on her. Good news, she didn't. Bad news, ominous noises.
Ominous noises whose origins were a giant crab.
"Oh great." Tooly muttered, before a glancing blow from a giant claw sent her tumbling backward.
"Why does everything that attacks us have too many legs?!" she demanded of life in general, and attempted to scramble away from the crustacean horror.
She was apparently a skilled scrambler. Within seconds, Tooly had put distance between herself and the crab. She stopped to see how the others were doing, but loud noises coming from the nearby foliage prompted her to get the hell out of Dodge.

[ENTERING!]
Fluffy was in a foul mood. Sort of. Apparently he was immortal, since death still didn't mean death. Even without the chip. Well good to know... even if he didn't feel so great. Just like before 'dying' was not the best of feelings. And he'd wound up with the dragon in an area. It was off from their own staff building and he was a bit disoriented from it all. So rather than just trying to get back, he'd struck off in a direction. Apparently with a dragon. The wrong one.
This was definitely not the way to the staff house on their mountain. Rather toward the coast. OH WELL! He'd always wanted to visit!
Still as Fluffy moved along he couldn't help but notice something of interest. PEOPLE! Fighting a giant crab. [I bet that tastes yummy...] The canine was a bit curious about the thing, but obviously not moving closer to the humans or crab. Rather he was off out of the way and staring. And probably making the poor humans more paranoid than before. Now they had a crab, dog, and soon to be dragon to 'deal with.' Fabulous for them.
[The humans are kind of doing tricks for us now. Y'think?]

Name: Fluffy Species: Cerberus Short Description: About chest height for a tall male human, all black with black eyes, and a bit wild looking. Only one head and is just a 'pup' of a cerberus.
Tavast had been mere moments behind Fluffy, grumbling the entire time as he walked. He was in a very cranky mood, and anyone who knew dragons, would know that you steer quite clear of a dragon when its cranky.
<I don't care if the humans are doing tricks...> His roar was flat, angry.
<What I care about, is them running away - because I am in no mood for more pain today...>
With that, he charged the nearest human he saw. Head down wings tucked close. He hoped he could at least bump his target with his horns.
