General & Item Information
Survival on the island is up to YOU. Scattered across various places in the damaged Wonder Park are small pockets of hope, weapons that you can try to reach in order to increase your survivability. These are often extremely risky to take and carry. Items are classified into the types below. All weapons are first come first serve. A reminder that while items are important and may save you, carrying too many will slow you down, and decrease your escape roll chance!
Weapons available: All weapons are classified by allowing you to gain attack power, but are difficult to find. They are of limited supply and may break. - Handgun They seem to be everywhere but none of them are standardized meaning the bullets for each one is frustratingly different. This one is loaded only with half ammo. You can fire three shots from the handgun. Each shot does + 3 damage on top of your normal attacks. If the normal attack is result is 0 or negative, the result with the gun is 3. (subtract 1 from your escape rolls for every handgun you carry) - Shotgun A very large, unwieldy gun that is a lot more effective. This gun is loaded only with one shot. You can one shot from the shotgun. Each shot does damage equal to 50% of your opponent's REMAINING HP. (subtract 3 from your escape rolls for every shotgun you carry) - Throwing stars .... Really? Throwing stars are light but extremely difficult to use. You may only use this once. Roll a 6-sided dice. If you roll 1 or 6, you do 10 damage to your opponent. Otherwise, you do nothing. This takes up a turn. (subtract 1 from your escape rolls for every set of throwing stars you carry)
Healing Items available: All healing items are classified by their ability to heal a player. These can be found in a number of areas and are of limited supply. - Polysporin This will prevent at least the infection of wounds and help your wounds heal faster. You may use this up to three times on whomever. Each use heals you +5 HP (subtract 1 from your escape rolls for every polysporin you carry) - Ice pack This helps ease the pain and bruising. Phew. You may use this unlimited times. As long as you carry it, every single 24 OOC hours that pass will heal your character for +5 HP. It can only heal the person carrying it. You can use this indefinitely until discarded. Does not stack. (subtract 3 from your escape rolls for every icepack you carry) - Medkit Painkillers, gauze, a needle, thread, and anti-septic needed to treat a severe wound. You may use this once. It will heal you for 15 HP. (subtract 2 from your escape rolls for every medkit you carry)
Defensive Items available: The most common type of item. These ones may spare you from otherwise terrible damage or ward off enemies or even camouflage you for a bit. They may also break easily. - Chains Chains will slow an enemy down. If you fail to roll to escape, roll a 20-sided dice again. If you roll 5 or higher, you manage to escape! . You can only use this once. (subtract 2 from your escape rolls for every chain you carry) - Pair of Shoes It's a pretty decent pair of shoes. Maybe you can run faster with these. Your equipment load feels lighter. (add +1 to escape rolls.) You can use this indefinitely until discarded. Does not stack. - Kelvar Vest: Not the most comfortable, but b Add +10 permanently to your HP. You can use this indefinitely until discarded. Does not stack. (subtract 2 from your escape rolls for every vest you carry)
SPECIAL ACCESS CARDS: - Occasionally, you may run into a SPECIAL ACCESS CARD. It looks like in the chaos, a high-level staff member has dropped it by accident! Each SPECIAL ACCESS CARD leads only to a specific area. For instance, you may find a SPECIAL ACCESS CARD labelled PARABLE POOL. You will only be able to use it for that location by finding the secret security point.
SECRET SECURITY POINTS: - If you have a special access card and you reach that specific security point, congratulations, you have found a loot and shelter area. This will provide you shelter for 24 IC hours as well as some useful loot, such as attack, healing, and defensive items.

A four wheeler that was practically careening out of control came to a jolting halt in front of yet another staff building, this one empty and clear of any attacking mob of monsters. Didn't mean things were safe, but Lydia would take her chances inside.
It wasn't until that moment that she realized another four wheeler probably should have come roaring up to park beside her by now.
"Kiera!?" She called out, sliding out from the vehicle and turning towards the forest she had just driven through.

Kiera wasn't sure she had run faster in her life. Not even the first time they left the Realms felt as bad because at least then she had a group. Back there, watching Lydia get out on the four wheeler while she herself took a tumble . . . That was some real fear she felt back there. And she was starting to wonder if these creatures that were made of "imagination" and "emotion" might in fact be feeding on it . . .
"JUST. GET. IN," she huffed at the woman, boggled that Lydia was still even outside. Kiera just simply through herself into the building, on her hands and knees as she fought for breath. There was a stitch in her side - maybe literal - and she couldn't speak for a moment. Just drip sweat and relief and anxiety.

Lydia didn't have to wait long before rapid footfalls and heavy breathing were coming straight for her, and she sighed in relief though had to wonder what on earth happened to the other four wheeler.
Probably best not to ask at this point.
Following Kiera into the building and shutting the door behind them, she limped over towards her, but remained standing and on the lookout.
"You know...I got lost in the Congo once. For three days. I thought that was going to be the scariest moment of my life."

Kiera didn't answer for a while, panting heavily and turning to let herself lay out on the cold floor and be off her feet for a moment. When her heart stopped beating so loudly in her ears, she swallowed a breath and pushed the hair sticking to her forehead off. So much for her neat little bun.
"Yeah?"
Glasses, ID badge...She searched her pocket and sighed when she still felt Algie's. She was starting to think he was lucky, just dying without dealing with all this.
"How'd you get out?"

"You don't want to know." She replied with a grim smile. "It involves drinking my own urine."
Most people would tell her to stop talking right about now.
"What are you looking for?" She asked, facial expression shifting to a puzzled frown when the other woman began searching her pockets. "Don't suppose you have some kind of access card to some super secret underground complex that is completely impregnable."
Because that would be way too much to hope for, Lydia gave a small shake of her head and a sigh. "Is there a helicopter somewhere on this island by any chance? Oh wait, silly me, the dragons probably already destroyed it. You know, I think I've seen this movie before."

Kiera made a small face as her...friend? Is that what they were now? Lydia's comment made her vaguely remember something either way. "No, no access card here . . . Only one area needed that, and it involves dealing with a kraken."
Come to think of it, that might be a great deterrent if the thing couldn't differentiate between monster and human.
"I was just . . . checking for something." She slid Algie's ID card out and flipped it for her to see before pocketing it and forcing herself back onto her feet. With a small stagger, she moved to one of the counters and rummaged for a kevlar vest, a new set of keys for the four wheeler, and started to put on some new shoes.
"Helipad, helipad . . . If I recall, there's one on Imagination Island," Kiera went on to say with a thoughtful look. "Damn, why didn't I think of that. It was closer when we were back at the Faerie Forest."

A kraken, hey? Well they just seemed to have everything here, didn't they?
Lydia leaned forward as the other woman removed something from her pocket, eyes landing on a picture of a very familiar face, and a name.
Nothing could stop the tears that suddenly began to slide down the cryptozoologists face again at that moment, as for one fleeting instant she was allowed to catch a glimpse of her beautiful merman one last time. "He..he didn't..." She shook her head, attempting to clear her throat, though the sound that came out sounded more like that of a strangled cat. "I should have stayed behind to try and help him more. He was my mate." It was like she just couldn't emphasize that fact enough.
Following Kiera through the building, Lydia shuffled along behind her, sniffling from time to time now that it seemed like she had a chance to mourn, however briefly, over the death of somebody she had become rather fond of in a very short time span.
When the other woman stopped, Lydia stopped with her, glancing around and spying what appeared to be a shotgun on the counter top. Walking towards it, she picked it up, hefting it in one hand.
"Think this might come in handy?" She asked, and though she knew how to fire a gun, it left a bad taste in her mouth to think about using it on any of the creatures she had encountered so far.
But if there were worse things roaming the island.....
"Like I said, it might already be destroyed....did you want to make another trip out there to try and find out?" She raised her eyebrows and nodded back towards the exit, and where they had left her transport.
Item pick up: 1 shotgun.

Kiera had said they needed to wait to mourn, and now seemed as good as time as any. She wasn't going to force tears out and say meaningful things about a man she barely had time to know, but she could share in the sadness that a life had been taken. So the lab tech remained quiet and bowed her head a bit as Lydia cried.
"Don't talk like that. Better to live and fight than die to some damn insect," she told her after a moment, her expression going stern. But then she blinked hard, calmed herself, and patted her shoulder sympathetically. "Let's just keep going and give these bastards what for."
Kiera nodded to the gun, a bit antsy about carrying live ammunition but knowing they'd probably need it at some point. "Might. Come on, let's check the visitor center and see if we can get something."
Grabbing her keys, back to the four wheelers they went.

Dean entered in a hurry, shutting the doors behind him and collapsing on the floor with a soft whimper.
He was still, somehow, alive.
Rooting around the building proved that he wasn't the first here, however. He noticed another set of four wheeler keys - and ignored them judiciously; he had no interest in leaving. He finally dug out a tube of polysporin, and applied it to his many scrapes and cuts liberally.
He sank to the ground behind a desk finally, crawling beneath it and curling up with a soft whimper.
Tooly stumbled into the building, and basically collapsed on the ground, trying to regain her breath. That run in with the Naga had been intense! As she panted, Tooly did wonder that she was pretty lucky in being able to get away from these things. She really hoped it was because she was quick, and not just because the creatures weren't used to hunting their food.
She pulled herself up into a sitting position, and waited to see if Nadya would come. She willed the door to open again, momentarily forgetting that her other friends were supposed to be here.

Nadya pretty much ran in much later looking scratched up and worse for the wear. She didn't even look at Tooly yet as she collapsed next to her companion and let out a small tired sob.
This was not in her job description.

Tooly could only wait anxiously as the minutes ticked by. She'd recovered her breath, but still no Nadya. She didn't want to move from the spot. Nothing was moving in the building. She couldn't hear anyone else. It seemed that if Lydia and Kiera had made it here, they'd moved on already. The thought that she might be alone sent her heart pounding. It was worse than being attacked by creatures.
She flinched visibly when the door opened again, but let out a relieved, inarticulate cry when she saw that it was Nadya. Tooly flung her arms around Nadya, and hugged her tight as the handler collapsed.
