Gnat had woken up that morning with a headache, awful breath, and more than a handful of regrets. It was just icing on the cake when she'd stopped by her brother's room only to realize he hadn't spent the night there. No, he was probably off with that hussy-lookin' Mist.
If she is a hussy, what does that make you?
It was always disturbing, having the knight's deep voice in her head; and never more so than now. She could feel him judging her. Worst. Morning after. Ever. After a long, hot shower, a very irritable Gnat made her way down to the training fields to punch things.
It was very cathartic.

Jerry's morning had consisted of feeling as though he had been smashed in the brain by a train. This was then followed by a long bought of lecturing from Roar about the proper pouncing of females and how Jerry had been doing it wrong all night.
He was sorely tempted to locate another drink to chase the hangover away and quiet Roar down, but no. No. Self control. From what he could hazily recall it had been a nice party- at least he thought it was. It was still coming back to him in bits and pieces.
And then he remembered Gnat. Oh god. He needed to apologize at least, the poor newbie. After a shower, a clean set of clothes and general grooming, it was thankfully easy to track down a Sun.
He spotted her on the training grounds, and watched from a distance as the young woman took out her frustration. Deep breaths. He owed it to her.
"Um.... um hi?" He called down as he meekly made his way across the field.

Thwack. Thwack. Thwack.
Natasha didn't look up at first, lost in concentration and taking a few more shots at the dummy before desummoning her weapon and turning around. Oh. Perfect. She was sweaty, wearing gym shorts and a horribly tacky 'bikini body' shirt her mom had gotten her from the beach one year. Not exactly the impression she was looking to make on some guy she'd been mackin' on the night before.
"Hello, Jerry." This was awkward.

"I um. Thought I should apologize. About last night. Ahahah I um. Wasn't entirely at my best." Sweat and old clothes were nothing new to him. She still looked pretty in his opinion, and he smiled meekly as he picked at his loud shirt shyly.

Ah. "It ain't no thang. I kinna started it anyways." She scuffed at the dirt with a shoe, before glancing back up with a glint in her eye.
"D'ya at least 'member my name now?" Gnat squinted at him.

"Uh - oh!" She laughed awkwardly, scratching the back of her head.
"Sorry, like, my head is all full of cotton."
A pause. She gestured at his jacket. "So, you're like, a Sun, right?" She squinted at his face again. Now that she mentioned it, she did kind of recognize him...

"Yes, ma'am!" He beamed, bubbling his way through his own hangover through sheer willpower. "Fully trained and traumatized!" He gave her a playful salute before shriveling back down into his standard state of nervousness. "So um. About... last night. Um."

Gnat looked away.
She was not blushing. She was indomitable. A bad a**. A bad a** who had made out with some random drunk guy who was standing RIGHT HERE.
She chose that moment to reflect upon what a very very tiny island they'd all found themselves on, and how perhaps her decision making skills were not as up to par as she had hoped..
"Um," she added helpfully.

"I feel like... we got off on the wrong foot, ahaha. Um. So like. Um. If you wanted to... I mean you don't have to but if you wanted to maybe... have a proper date?" His expression behind his frumpy hair, thick glasses and even thicker scars was beaming with optimism.

She gave him a once over. Well indeed. However, she HAD sort of used him in her battle for sibling supremacy, and that hadn't been very nice. Besides, it took serious balls to come out here and ask her like that.
"Okay," she said cautiously. "What uh, did'ya have in mind?"

"Oh, that's alright I under-" He hesitated when his premeditated brush off for rejection suddenly became moot. "W-wait, you would?" Immediately, his expression picked up. He hadn't considered her saying yes, that wasn't usually how these things went. "Oh! UH! Oh! Well, we could... I don't know, have a picnic or um. I don't remember what sort of leave trainees have but we could um... see a movie or ah... oh man, I have no idea."

Gnat leaned against a dummy, tucking her hands behind her back.
"You didn't really think this through," she observed blandly.
Maybe a change of subject was in order. "You seem like a nice kinna fella. How'd you get them scars?"
