The DeVey family was proud that day. A bright eyed little boy, a new home, a new town to financially secure as their own. Hogsmeade already featured a few of their own product, but they would finally see to getting a foothold in the traditionally longheld family businesses. It didn't come without some regrets.

Isolated from the rest of their family, the parents, the older sibling, and their new bundle of joy would take what life would give them. They were proud, they had networks, and they could always tackle another smaller town. Thus, they left Hogsmeade, and went back to their numerous cousins and family who actually knew them.

Sadly, not the truth, journal mine. No..we had to stay here. No number of Honeyduke's candy will cure this heartbreak of mine. I've got cousins glorifying the name of Durmstrang, and I'm. not. going. there. What happened to family connections?! Decent potions master? The best here is gone. Goals to achieve since I've gotten this Hogwarts letter? Graduate. Go home. Stupid business empire.

New house, new bed(or old. I can't tell.), new faces, old problems. Everyone is so excited and they all keep giving me the stink eye because I didn't 'dance and party' like everyone else. Have I told you yet I might be able to play muggle 'air hockey' on the floors of the hall outside the common room? We're in the basement. I ever see snow cold enough to stick, I'm getting a water charm, four bowls, three other students, and a puck.

Supposedly fit me, this house, but I think the charmed hat thing has it's own network of connections. I'm been surrounded by Durmstrang my entire life. Reckless and nosy, I'm not. The hat told me I didn't belong in Gryffindor and I couldn't argue for the house period. Would I really have scared them all?

Got this really strange note from my dorm bed. Very suspicious. I want to hunt the sender down, but there is this homework I've been putting off. After I get my homework done, I'll see if I find the sender.

My rat learned a new trick. She can play dead. We still need to work on 'dig through the wall and steal precious ingredients' but I'll have more then enough time for that trick.
