Melvin walked with Rin with their bottles of stolen booze with a tight mass of emotions working into a tangle of knots. Walking away from the party, he knew he went too far and said more than he ever wanted to reveal about himself. Not only did he appear weak, pathetic, and spiteful, but he had openly displayed an attack on Jordan and Rep, something he never did before. Did he even have friends at this point? Jordan probably felt assured he was a nut job that actually needed private sessions and Rep ...
Melvin gripped the bottle tighter. He wanted to trust Rep and told him more than he told anyone on the island, even kept his secret with Sasha to protect him, and the man openly admitted that he thought he was too low to date Rin, that he rather he be miserable, and would work against him to get his own ends. After all that crap about being honest with him. It hurt too. It hurt and angered him both in the same time, because of the few people he really did try to connect to, he was betrayed.
Even Rin....
He looked at her, blue eyes unsure as he watched her. She wasn't happy with him. She made due with him, but it was clear she was unsatisfied and unhappy. Then she had to go on comparing him to Rep. Why the ******** couldn't Rep just be single and want Rin and then everyone could get what the hell they want? It was even worse when Rep could be drunk, smug, and surrounded by two men as if he got everything he wanted.
He shouldn't. Even with all the punishments, he was still making death threats. Melvin had hoped with Rep in Life, they could be closer friends, that he could help Rep control himself more, but now he wanted nothing to do with him. Not with anyone.
Melvin went to his door and opened it, letting Rin in and turning on the light. He wanted to drink and never think again.

Rin was thinking more distantly as she followed after Melvin. The truth wasn't always a warm comforting thing. It downright hurt sometimes. She wouldn't let the hurt get to her though. s**t happens. Sometimes people you trust, simply don't trust you back.
She led the way into Melvin's room.

Closing the door, he took off his shoes, set them neatly by the door, walked over to his bed, and sat down. There was a moment where he just looked at the bottle before he opened it and started to drink. Usually whiskey was to be enjoyed slowly. He wasn't, and once he drank deeply from the bottle and breathed out.
"What are you going to do about Rep?" His eyes remained looking at the label on the bottle.

Rin didn't jump right into the booze so readily. She watched Melvin get comfortable and looked rather uncomfortable at the new question, "What do you mean?"

"What do you think I mean? He said he wanted to destroy you because you belong to him. Said he'd rather have you miserable, us miserable, than having you with me. He even said he'd secretly sabotage it without us noticing." He held the bottle tightly. "Doesn't that bother you? He's supposed to be your friend, not some psycho working to shove you off a cliff."
He continued to stare at the bottle. "He doesn't think I'm good enough for you."

"It bothers me, yeah, but dwelling on it means he's won. He wants stress on the relationship - look what you're doing right now. I'm not worried," She was but.. not about that. She was more worried Rep might actually want her dead more than he wants her happy now. There was always a sort of... balance and it seems this might have tipped the scales.
"He can think whatever he wants and will continue to do so regardless."

"There you go again! You keep making excuses for him and ignoring what he said. Why aren't you calling him on his s**t?! He said he was going to DESTROY you!" Melvin rose up a bit too fast than he cared to, and he held a hand to his chest and continued standing. He set the whiskey bottle on his nightstand.
"He's supposed to be your friend. What friend says they are going to destroy you? How can he want to stress on our relationship and you just ignore it? He should be supporting you as a friend. He shouldn't want to keep you as his when he has his own guys to ******** around with. Do you want him to want you still?" Because Rep ******** her better. "This isn't DWELLING on it. It's ADDRESSING it, Rin. If you ignore him, he could wind up stabbing a knife into your back. He already gets sick kicks over playing murder knife games with Sasha."
He moved to her, looking wide-eyed at her, pleadingly at her. "Are you just going to pretend everything is okay until he really does hurt you again. What if he does and says it was an accident? To cover it up like he said he would. He's strong enough to do it. And I'm..." He lightly touched her, gripping her one arm while the other rested against her side, shaking. No one else wanted him around. Rin was the only one that could even tolerate him. "...I don't know if I can protect you." Especially if she was so willing to let Rep remain close to her without having her guard up. Rep could destroy him with just his fists. How could he fight against that.
Should he......attack Rep before he got to Rin?
His fingers gripped into the fabric of his clothes tightly a she looked down. "I won't have no one ...no one else left."

"Why do you think I chose you over him with his question? This is what he's like. This is what he's always been like. I've told you already. It's not like this is the first time he's ever threatened me. It's not like..." then he grabbed ahold of her and she could feel he was shaking with emotion. Something she's never really seen from him. What was wrong? Why was he accusing her of such stupid s**t? Why was he hurting so much over this?
"I... I'm fine Melvin? It's just... I've not spoken to him in months is all. He must be getting restless."

Restless. Rep remembered talking to both Rep and Sasha. How they made a game out of nothing and were now separated from the island for trying to rip out a jaw. It said something about how ruthless Rep could be for fun, and if he was restless, would he get bored and want to play games with Rin? Would he try injuring her, when he already took her arm, and say it was an accident.
Was....was the lost arm part of an accident now that he thought about it or did Rep just get bored or angry about something and covered it up?
"But he wore that ring. He said he would kill you to keep you from me. He doesn't want to let you go. He never even wanted us to get together." He continued to hold her. Now that Rep knew that Rin picked Melvin over him, what would he do?
He had to do something before Rep tried something. He had to make sure he never touched Rin. He couldn't do it with brute force, but if someone was nuts as Sasha could manage, Melvin was sure he could.
Still looking down, he took a moment and swallowed. "Don't go near him, and promise me you'll be on guard around him if he shows up. Avoid him." He looked up at her, eyes wet and large. "Promise me you won't go near him." He wouldn't let him kill her. Rep had used up his luck more than enough times. He wouldn't weasel his way to another division this time.

"I know he's not okay with us. He made it clear when I visited him in the infirmary. It's why I've been avoiding him for months now. Heh. Kinda hard with him in the labs right now, though, huh?" Rin didn't exactly get what Melvin was driving at. While yeah, death threats suck, they aren't exactly uncommon. No less threatening with a ring involved.. Rep was always a drama queen and a bit exaggerated.
Rin looked at Melvin with surprise, "Are you okay?" Then the surprise shifted finally to concern, "You're scaring me Melvin."

She ignored her concern, just shaking his head and giving her a shake to make her focus. To just, PAY ATTENTION. It was vital and of the utmost importance that she kept away from Rep because, at least on the island, it was a treat no one else seemed to notice or care about. "Then keep avoiding him. Will you keep avoiding him?" He had to hear her say it.

"What do I have to do to make you take this seriously? I don't want to have him sneaking around and hurting you while making it look like an accident. I don't want to think that he'd make a game out of it and get a knife to stab you. I don't want to be in the Infirmary and have you rolled in because someone said there was an accident and there would be no way to prove that Rep did it intentionally. I want you to be safe." His grip was tight as he continued to look at her, no longer shaking her but still shaken. "Please. Being around him won't make him happy if he just wants us to not be together. That just means he'll have you close by for when he wants to hurt you. Could you just tr-" The word was cut off quickly as it came back as a bitter reminded of their previous talk at the party.
His grip loosened. "You trust him more than you trust me. Right?"

"He get's like this sometimes if I just like... he only gets dangerous if I keep..," Rin felt Melvin's grip tighten and she was looking more and more scared of him by the moment. All the talking and knowing what's best but not listening, at all. What he said with the ring on was true, he didn't trus-- Rin shot Melvin a look. "When the ******** did I ever imply that I trusted him more than you? You don't even trust me at all! It shows, Melvin."

His hands were removed quickly, and he slowly moved them back to his side. He just looked at her. "You never did. It just seems like that."
He was quiet a moment. "I didn't say I didn't trust you at all. I just...not all the way." It wasn't good to say, but at least it wasn't a 0% like she thought.
