Leaving Imbali behind had been a little to easy for the male which should have troubled him but in all honesty the leopard didn't feel anything. Or so he thought. There was that small piece in the back of his brain that called out to him to go back for her. Pretend like he'd just went out for a hunt and not to get away from her. Moke was pretty good at ignoring that part of his brain though. At a young age he was taught to be tough and shut out that piece of him ruled by his heart. Ignoring that part would trigger him to be grumpy and distant rather than sad.

Moke had been careful in his 'get away' to not leave a trail. Or at least not an easy to follow one. Something in the back of his head told him Imbali probably wouldn't have followed a trail even if it was easy. Covering his tracks at least gave him comfort if nothing else. The fact that maybe she would gave him a very secret smile in the back of his brain.

A small water pool up ahead offered something to wet his muzzle with and shade. Moke of course couldn't resist some rest after a long day of tracks covering. He was in the green now. Rest would be good. Very cooly the leopard approached the offer of water and lapped up its cool goodness.

the leopard probably wouldn't have even noticed the strange wild dog sitting in the water- her coat matched the clear liquid so well that it was always difficult to see her when she was hiding under the water. She was happy to hold her breath and look around underneath the surface, the stinging of the water in her eyes didn't seem to bother her at all, which was probably not very surprising. She loved the water- she would do anything to be around it. Slightly red eyes and a little swimmer's ear were small prices to pay.

From under the water, she noticed a shape appear above. Smiling, she moved towards it, popping up to the surface with a smile. She grinned, tilting her head slightly to one side.

"Hello!" She said brightly, a small leaf that had been floating on the water now resting merrily on her head.

The sudden appearance of this water dog had Moke falling over to his side in disbelief. For a split moment he swore he had happened upon a mystical lake and that this was a spirit. But seeing the canine features and none leopard ones Moke was quick to change his mind on that.

".........." He didn't return her hello. Moke instead took a seat and stared a hole through her. A grumpy snort was given.

"What kind of game are you getting at dog." He went straight to business. This had to be some kind of scheme. "Is another mutt going to fall from the trees and another emerge from the dirt? Are you planning to ambush me." His tone was flat.

Nguva frowned, looking thoughtful for a moment. "Will they? I don't think so- there's not a lot of other wild dogs around here," she commented after a moment, as though she had really considered it being a possibility.

"But if you want, we can play another game! Tag is fun! Or hide and seek! We could go swimming too, if you want to." He seemed like he was unhappy, and she knew games were a good way to stop being unhappy.

She smiled.

"My name is Nguva," she hummed lightly, "what's your name?"

"Moke" He offered. It didn't matter if she knew or not. The name did not carry to much weight so he was alright giving it up.

Moke was steadily backing away from this wild dog. Her excitement was some what terrifying. At the very least she seemed to not know of any other wild dogs around here. Moke frowned at the offer of a game.

"Game? Swimming? Why would I do that," He thought for a moment. Was she being sincere or was she trying to manipulate him. Moke had a hard time with trusting others. Suspecting others of anything vile was survival. Plus a wild dog was not a leopard which made her that much more untrustworthy. Still he couldn't help but wonder where her 'game' would take him. Perhaps he could turn the tables on her.

"Is there a wager for this .. game?" He wanted to know before hand.

Nguva liked the name Moke- it seemed to fit him somehow, though she couldn't imagine why. In any case ,she smiled when he introduced himself, happy she at least managed to get that much from him. now if she could just get him to smile, then she really would have been able to call it mission accomplished. She was sure he just needed to have a little fun: wasn't that the best way to make the day better?

He seemed to be backing away from her- she was sure that didn't mean he didn't want to talk to her. Maybe he just didn't like getting wet.

"Why? Well... because it's fun and it's a good way to relieve some stress, you know? I think you look very stressed out, not to be rude or anything, and a game might make you feel a whole lot better!" She smiled again, hoping to prompt him into agreeing to the whole thing. He didn't seem like he was going to completely throw it back into her face, so that was good.

"Wager?" she looked thoughtful, "well, I've never played a game like that before... but I guess there could be one if you want there to be!"

Stressed out? That was one way to put Mokes grumpiness. Moke merely frowned deeper at that.

Truth be told Moke agreed with this wild dog that games were fun. Any thing he could prove how awesome he was at something was a okay in his book so a game was fine by him. It would be fun.

"Alright a game and a wager. It might make me.... feel better.." He grunted the last bit at the end, "How about a contest of who can - " He looked thoughtful. It seemed this canine was pretty good in the water. Moke him self was a born tree climber. He thought for a moment. Water, climbing... Fishing?

"How about we have a fishing contest. Who ever fishes the most wins both fish piles." That seemed productive and entertaining.

"That sounds like fun!" Nguva laughed, looking towards the water. "Since you made up the game, I think it's only fair that I go first, right? Besides, ladies are supposed to go first!" She moved to the water. Normally, she was a very good fisherdog, but she was sure he wouldn't have asked for a game he wasn't any good at. Who wanted to play a game to lose?

She smiled. This was going to be fun!

She waited for a fish to come, and made to snap at it when it was within range. but in her excitement to kick things off, her timing was misplaced, and the fish got away from her. "oh no!" she laughed, looking at the leopard. "I missed! Now it's your turn! How many tries should we have before we call the winner?" She was already having fun.

The wild dog had missed which gave Moke a thin curl of a smile. Moke carefully approached the water and slowly dipped his paw in before allowing him self to have all fours in. Perhaps it was the feline in him that made him wary of water. Slowly, he waded his way towards the wild dog.

"I was thinking... Three tries. I like the number three. It seems magic." Moke didn't know why it felt magic. If leopards were better at math he'd realize that three was the best number because three times three made nine and nine times three made twenty seven and that was a pretty great number. But as a narrator I digress.

"Let me show you how its done," He spoke with a bit of arrogance. A fish was heading their way. Quickly, Moke swiped his paw in to the waters with confidence and power only to have his paw reemerge completely empty. His arrogance dropped and was replaced with disbelief and embarrassment. The leopard had sworn he'd had it. There was a loss of words on Mokes part.

Nguva didn't laugh that Moke had missed the fish- she had been pretty much laughing the whole time they had been hunting together. Stifling it, not wanting to disrupt his hunt, but it had been there the whole time. She was having just too much fun! She had no idea of any kind of gain to be had from their encounter other than the happy feelings they were both going to leave with.

And, with how things were going, that might have been all they left with. "Three it is!" She hummed, "my turn again!" she happily moved for the water, waiting in a new position for the heat of the last attempt to die down in the water. The fish soon returned and she made another attempt to catch one. She shoved her head into the water with speed and precision, just as she had done before. This time, her efforts were rewarded- she had managed to pull up a fish without any trouble, the wiggling creature flapping about in her jaws.

Merrily, she put it on the ground, pressing a paw against it victoriously. "I caught one!" she laughed in delight, "yay!"

Moke could really learn a lesson from Nguve. Being a grumpy poor sport just seemed natural to him. Possibly his upbringings fault but there was an age one should start taking responsibility for their own actions.

Moke frowned deeper when the wild dog revealed her fish. Frustrated and possibly a little embarrassed the leopard quickly swiped his paw at the water to reveal his efforts fruitless when his claws reemerged. He lowered his head some and eyed the wild dog silently.

Nguva smiled at the leopard, though she didn't know that he was feeling mad. She didn't tend to get upset, even when she lost at something, so she didn't know that he might be upset. She was just happy to be playing a game with someone. When was the last time she'd had so much fun with another animal?

She smiled, looking at the water. Since it was her turn, it was back to watching the water carefully. She attacked at just the right moment, pawing into the water and swiping up a nice, big fish. It landed on the dirt right near the other one she had already managed to catch.

"That's two for me!" She cheered, moving out of the water and sitting on the ground to dry off. Her three turns were up, weren't they? So now it was time to watch him with his last effort.

"Do you best!"

She had two and he'd not even gotten one? How could that be! He wasn't blind with anger over this but he was still greatly annoyed. The leopards tail twitched from side to side greatly agitated. When one is so agitated taking a step back is usually a good idea but Moke never got that memo. Mainly because leopards didn't know how to work email and also because email had yet to be invented yet.

The leopard gave the water one powerful swipe only to send the rest of the fish scattering. He had not gotten a single guppy. And he called him self a feline and a hunter?

He stared down at the water mostly in disbelief and partly in shame. Facing this wild dog after losing to her was a lot. Sure, he could do the dishonorable thing and just take her fish but something about this wild dog he actually kind of liked to much to do such a** hattery too. Also there was the fact that she might have some secret fighting skills. Under estimating this female would not be a mistake he was willing to make again. Losing and then getting his a** handed to him were not all that appealing.

"Well looks like you win" The leopard got up. His eyes slowly lifted to meet hers. He wasn't sure what else you were supposed to say so instead he just frowned and stared at her intensely.

((Shes so cute Caj ; v wink )

Aw! He hadn't gotten any fish! That made her feel bad- everyone deserved a gift for having a fun game. She smiled and looked down at her fish, then back at the leopard. "You can have them!" she offered brightly, "I'm not very hungry and I think you would enjoy them more!" hadn't she heard somewhere that cats loved fish? So did she, but she wasn't lying about the whole not being hungry thing. Sometimes it seemed like she didn't even know how to lie.

Probably true.

She smiled at the other, hoping to get him to cheer up a bit. She didn't like seeing upset animals, and she had wanted to make him happier from the start! It looked like she had done the opposite of that! It was a little shameful, if she was honest. How could she say she was good at playing games if the animals she played with were not as happy as she was?

That was just being selfish. "I'll let you eat alone, if you like! I think I should probably go home now, anyway. Thank you for playing a game with me!"

She was giving him the fish? This sort of kindness was not something the leopard was used to. With out a catch ((Not the sort of catching the fish had endured))... but some how he didn't suspect that there was one. He managed a smile that some how looked more creepy and out of place on him than it really should have. He gave the wild dog an approving nod in thanks.

"Thank you."

He took the fish and scurried up a tree with them.
