A little pet shop/veterinary clinic owned by the off island business monger couple, Joe and Mary Smith. Having heard that there was an island somewhere in the middle of nowhere in development, they rushed there and bought a bunch of building and opened various shops that were missing on the island. This is only one of them! Of course, they'll be more then willing to sell it back to anyone with a right prize.... and if whoever decided that they changed their mind and leave the island (or, most likely, die in a horrible death), they'll be more than happy to rebuy it for half the price! This is how they make their money. Until someone take over the ownership of this shop, they'll be happy to run it from the mainland, almost never coming on the island to see how it's going. The employees, NPC or not, are then free to work like always and customers to use their services.

When Trev arrived to work, he was being trailed by three chipmunks, a slew of squirrels, a beaver, four stray cats and something that looked vaguely like a baby walrus. It was like something straight out of a movie. One could say it was merely the man's charm and his clear animal magnetism. It was his giving, caring personality that somehow just spoke to the animals of his love and generosity and let them know that he, indeed, was a friend to all living things and that by his mere presence on the island he would surely treat all their ills and injuries and make Nirvani a veritable paradise for four legged creatures.

Then again, it could just be the baggie of bacon he'd left in his coat pocket when stepping outside the door that morning. Trev just knew that if he did not get into the building before the disturbing conga line of animals reached him, he was definitely going to be mauled.

Unfortunately, it didn't look like anyone else worked in this building or that, in fact, it had been opened in ages. The key worked just fine, but the door was slightly warped from moisture, and it did not want to budge open until he gave it a huge shove--and just in time, too.

He was able to leap across the door frame and slam the door shut behind him about three seconds before a deranged looking cat jumped on his back. But the movement of the door stirred up a cloud of dust and he spent the next few minutes hacking and coughing and sneezing as he looked around and realized...

he had a hell of a lot of work to do to get this place ready for work. Honestly. If people were going to run island practices from the mainland, the least they could do is make sure their place was actually running properly instead of just being left to rot!
