I have these quirks: Arnet is frequently a cauldron of emotions, even switching quickly from one extreme to the other. His attention skates from one thing to the other, as if there aren't enough hours in the day. He is most often brash, and impulsive, leaving real thinking to the last minute or more often until later. He can be moody, childish and becomes very frustrated when it comes to things like reading, which he never learned how to do.
Shockingly his behavior is worse without the ring, which exerts a mild calming influence.
We cant all have sad stories now can we? The story of Vol'Versio, Arnet's home word really begins with a fantastic meteor strike. Passing alien races didn't know if the native plant and animal life would ever recover, but recover they did, and in record time no less. And yet that was far from the most astonishing thing; in less then a few thousand years a sentient, near-human race had evolved!
In the short time (at least in the galactic scheme) since the meteor hit the local plants and animals have come to display unique traits, for example the size of native man eating plants, some of which could easily take up a city block, but that is nothing compared to the speed of the evolving humanoids which had reached what Earthlings would call superhuman proportions. They move, they think and they learn quickly, which might not be so surprising as they also grow old and die quickly (again, from the galactic perspective).
Arnet was born in a small mountain top village. Like most of the Vol'Versian people his family lived as far away from the forests as they could. They're abilities made them a strange mix of agrarian living, and hunter gather behavior. Arnet was a dreamer, who used to run out to the highest places he could find to look at the stars. He used to stare endlessly into the heavens, never knowing what he was looking for in that night sky, that is until it fell into his lap.
It all started with a new, strange blue star, brighter then any he had ever seen before. It fell, almost to ground where floated in front of him, and to his amazement it actually spoke to him. Then, before he knew what was happening, he was pulled away to Odym, home of the Blue Lantern Corps. There he learned much from Saint Walker, who was surprisingly patient. Arnet had never seen anyone sit still that long who wasn't asleep, and would never know anyone as sympathetic.
After a short while (not so short in his mind) the young man, seemingly still a child, flew off into space with the understanding of Saint Walker who recognized his nomadic spirit. Arnet spent a few months following the flow activity in the universe before he found himself in Oan space and interrupted a green lantern training session. He not only curious was about the other color of lantern which he'd never heard of, but that game looked like fun.
The young Blue Lantern formed a friendship with one of the Green Lanterns there. His relationship with the corp on the whole however was more of a mixed bag; some liked him because he brightened up the place, others because he supercharged every lantern within ten feet of him, and plenty of others were strongly irritated by his habit of coming and going as he pleased disrupting things in the process, but they couldn't manage to chase him off, at least not permanently.
Now he is looking forward to going with his friend, and seeing his plant of origin, which by the sound of things might be weirdest one he'd ever seen. He tried to magian an entire world where they all move as slowly as his green friend does, but information apparently moves faster then any of them!
