Hello and welcome to your new room.

Your room consists of two full beds, a walk in closet, a desk, and a bathroom with 2 sinks.

Get along with your room mate and do not cause any trouble or there shall be consequences for your actions.

CAN YOU FEEL IT CRUSH YOU?
Does it seem to bring the worst in you out?
THERE'S NO RUNNING AWAY FROM
THESE THINGS THAT HOLD YOU DOWN
DO THEY COMPLICATE YOU?
Because they make you feel like this?
Of all the colors that you've shine
THIS IS SURELY NOT YOUR BEST
But you should know
THESE COLORS THAT YOU'RE SHINING ARE
SURELY NOT THE BEST
COLORS THAT YOU SHINE...

Jaelyn shuffled in, wide-eyed and curious, standing in the doorway for a moment to survey the room. It wasn't grand or anything she hadn't seen before, but it was in no way unsatisfying. Plus, it felt sort of cozy, and she liked that feeling of warmth. She found that homeliness such as this wasn't evident in living spaces that were filled with sleek marble and golden doorknobs, and not being a stranger to these circumstances where that type of living wasn't anything out of the ordinary, she also felt the posh life extremely boring. The only thing Jae felt this place lacked was a good window; she liked having a view. Everything else, though, really pleased her, despite the lack of finery.

With a content smile, she walked further inside and shut the door behind her, dragging her suitcase behind her, the wheels squeaking from the carpet rubbing against them. It smelled like pencils, paper, and cleaning product, which she suspected was pretty normal for a dormitory. She had actually never really been to a school such as this before, due to either leading a life of wealth and power or one of extreme poverty, she never really had the chance to feel normal. It was nice, not having things jump out at you every second. She glanced at the second bed, realizing she'd have someone living in the dorm with her. Hopefully her room mate wouldn't be a nightmare, but if they were, and least maybe that would entertain her. She had the sinking feeling that this new life would be sort of uneventful, and for the adventurous soul of Jaelyn, that would not be very fun for the teachers she would probably drive crazy.

Future aside, the shinigami female realized that this would probably be a good time to get settled in, before her room mate arrived. So, fighting against the urge to just lay down and lazy about, Jaelyn shoved her suitcase on a bad and dumped out it's contents. Underwear...bras...dresses...tights...shoes...aha! Her art supplies! She almost thought that she had left them or something. With a jolt, Jaelyn, put her paints and sketchpads away in the right side of the closet, hoping that the other tenant would understand which one was her side of the storage space.

Finally, she completed the tedious task of putting her clothes in order, laying them neat, knowing inside that they would never look so organized again. When she was done, she flopped herself on the bed and let her hair down, staring at the ceiling, thinking of the day to come. She had never been to a school like this before, not one for 'special' students such as she. Would there be other shinigami's? Who would she have classes with? What would her room mate be like?

These questions buzzed about inside of her until her mind fell into a fantasy of the day to come, and without realizing it, Jaelyn fell asleep.

Elizabeth heaved a sigh at the new upcoming year. This was not normal for her, to go to school like this. Home schooled all her life, the new development was nerve-wrecking. She could almost feel her nerves pushing out through her pores. A nasty thought, it it sure felt that way. Another heavy, soul-induced sigh, and she went her long way towards her (new) bedroom. For a minute, she wondered how much she would miss the velvet red and pale pinks of her previous one. Of course, her home wasn't that far off to begin with. Not at all. The thought comforted the young girl. Passing by the Infirmary, her head shook a slight embarrassed tilt of the head and she exited the east wing of the first floor.

                                          (Time skip)

The halls were extraordinarily more lonely than she had first thought they were. In her mind, high school was lively and almost never so full of crucial apprehensive thoughts. She re-evaluated her decision to even ditch her home-school teacher for these halls. The floor gleamed and the walls were a stark blood red, clean and orderly. Would it stay that way?

Doors spanned in both directions of the second floor, the Dormitory, and she went towards the west wing, reading the large Cambria text printed metal plates. Room 56 Her heart jumped to her throat. Another thing to think about for school: would she be able to handle a roommate? The only female child in her family, she had always bedded alone or with her dear mother when her father was at work. Hell, sometimes even when her father was present, in between the two like a teddy bear of sorts. Her fingers traced over the golden knob before grasping it and turning it clock-wise. A click sounded, and she pushed it forward.

The light that streamed from the window, summer light streaming softly onto the beds and creating sunny warm patches on the ground. Eliza squinted meaningfully, shifting her gaze away. Her eyeballs hurt if she tried looking at it directly. It was funny how fast time passed, seasons transitioning from Spring to Summer. Spring sunlight was much softer and cooler.

She took kindly to the body that lay on one of the two twin beds that inhabited the center of the room, separated by a low nightstand and a lamp. She didn't want to disturb the sleeping figure and instead decided to throw herself on the available bed. Her bags would be in the front at some point, and she wasn't ready yet. Inhaling softly, she threw her head back onto the bed and closed her eyes.
