Remarque had always appreciated the spring; he wasn't much a fan of the flowers or surplus of new life, but he definitely enjoyed the break between extreme cold and extreme heat. Winter was practically unbearable, and with summer inching closer, he knew he could only look forwards to being out at night for a short while longer. Unless, of course, he had company interesting enough to distract him from the heat.
Tonight, he had interesting enough company.
Any new member of the Dark Mirror Court was certainly worth meeting up with—even if it meant braving the pollen-filled air and disobedient wraiths.
Their contact had been minimal before this evening; Remarque found himself knowing next to nothing about the new senshi. He knew it was a guy—and while Remarque certainly enjoyed being surrounded by women, there was a certain pride in another male joining their ranks.
The rendezvous point was a fairly easy to find location in the park; Remarque's first real training session had taken place here, and in all of Destiny City he considered it one of the safest starting points. Sure, there were a hell of a lot of people to run into, but there were so man mirrors scattered throughout the place that it hardly even mattered.
Remarque had arrived early and taken a seat on the edge of the fountain to ensure they were set to meet at; he wasn't shy of distractions to keep himself busy. He could contemplate the stars, the wraiths, the Negaverse. Though he seemed nonchalant where he sat, rolling over one of the small shards they used for summoning wraiths in his hand, he was well aware of the energy signatures around him. He wanted to make sure tonight went off without a hitch; after all of this, the Dark Mirror Court needed the boost.

Celemorrow hadn't quite familiarized himself with reading energy signatures, so as he stiffly approached the meeting spot, he kept looking around to make sure he was in the right place. He had been in Destiny City for a couple years now, but rarely had reason to stray far from the DCU campus, so he didn't know the city well. It was the right place. Easy to find. Once the Celemorrow spotted Remarque waiting, his shoulders relaxed almost indiscernibly. "Thank you for meeting with me." There wasn't any thought toward an introduction. Straight and to the point. "Is...this place really alright? It's a a bit public." Though, thinking about it, maybe the only people on.e would expect in a park at night are the city's riff-raff anyway.

Remarque looked up, taking the opportunity to familiarize himself with the senshi in front of him. "You don't have to thank me," he said only, sliding form his seat so he was standing before the male. "I do trust you'll call on me if ever a situation should arise. I'm glad to have you out here. Here, being where I assume you will spend a majority of your time while powered. At least while starting. I'd rather you get comfortable than whisk you away to Mirrorspace and do all the intensive training there, but if you'd rather be there," he shrugged. "Your comfort in the matter is important. If you're worried about someone spying on us, then you can relax. There's not anyone worthwhile too near to here. A few scattered energy signatures—you can feel them, like gnats buzzing in your peripheral—and will learn to identify what's lurking in the distance. In due time, though."
There was a lot of information to take in when first starting, and where they started depended on what Celemorrow knew—or wanted to know.
"So, now that you're here." He extended a hand in cordial greeting. "Remarque, Puppetry. How are things going for you so far?"

Now that Remarque mentioned it, Celemorrow did notice a faint sensation which seemed like peripheral gnats. He had thought he was coming down with a headache and couldn't decide if this new energy signature 'spider sense' was useful or annoying. Given time, he'll probably settle on 'both'. He accepted Remarque's hand, not too firmly. Pausing for a moment to remember his own name, he replied, "Celemorrow, Magnolias. So far...so far, I'm not sure what to do. I don't know if I'm supposed to wait for assignments or simply collect energy on my own." The white haired senshi pulled a reflective shard from under his hat. "And I'm not sure what to do with this. I was warned that the mirror wraiths are acting odd. Are we still supposed to be using these?" It looked like Celemorrow was about to ask another question, but he stopped. He had so many and he felt so lost. Feeling lost was an alien feeling and he did not like it. Kyuseisha no Hikari So sorry this took forever! D:

Magnolias? Oh, the girls were going to love him.
"If you so please. The wraiths are dangerous, there's no denying that. I haven't had one attack me, but I've had them give me a bit of trouble all the same. They typically jump out, run through the target and drain some energy. You can't hit them before they start to drain energy—it's like trying to hit a ghost, or smoke. Just nothing to hit. Once they start getting the energy, they start filling up, get more solid. That's when you have to protect them. They should meander back to Mirrorspace by then, full of energy, and then you don't have to worry about them. Right now, though, they seem to be attracted to anything that has energy, rather than whatever you tell them to drain. So it's a little more dangerous. Not impossible, though. Just make sure you're farther away from the wraith than your target is and everything should be fine."
Should be fine.
"Of course," he went on, "Gathering energy isn't all that we do. One of our most major goals is to convince other senshi to abandon their failed regime and join us. Which, were it so simple, would be a painless job. Much of it is talking, but every now and then the senshi take on a bit of a…combative nature. See, they don't like being told that they're wrong. So it's either drain with the wraiths, chat up the senshi, or risk a fight. Which isn't as bad as it sounds. Do you have any combat training? Used any of your special attacks yet?"

Keep further away from the mirrorwraiths than your target. Can do. Celemorrow slipped the mirror shard back under his hat. "I haven't been able to find any senshi to talk to yet, though I think I'll have a better chance now," he tapped the side of his head to indicate the energy-sensing which Remarque had previously mentioned. Brows furrowed. "Combat training? No...I guess that would be important now. I did use a special attack once," and he did. It was shortly after his mirror baptism. He was slinking in the shadows, not really knowing what else to do, but he could feel the words and motions aching to be performed. It knocked over a precariously-placed broom and scared a stray cat. Celemorrow wasn't impressed. "I'm not sure it will be useful. It was just a bunch of..." he waved his hand as he searched for the word in his attack call, "... tepals." He knew what those were, at least. He had looked magnolias up on the internet after he had discovered that they were his sphere. Anyway, they were petal-like things and they hadn't done any damage to anything.

Remarque had far less information on Magnolias than Celemorrow did, though he wasn't about to let them ale know that he had no idea what the hell a tepal was.
"Special attack is good. Might just be the sort of thing to keep you alive if you don't have any clue how to fight. I'm sure it's not entirely useless." Unless 'tepals' was code for flower smells or something. "Either way, just keep at it. Even if it's useless now, you never know what the future holds. Though, I am curious to see it. We ought to find you someone to spar with so I can watch. Walk with me," he said, gesturing for the senshi to follow him. He didn't wait before he spun and began walking towards the nearest order signature. It wasn't any stronger than Celemorrow by his guess, and it wasn't a senshi. He could work with that.
"Assuming, of course, you're up for a little roughhousing tonight. For as long as you're powered up, you risk being a target. The knights are relentless. Senshi can be swayed, but," he shrugged. "No idea what to do with the knights. I suppose if you want to dispose of them, you're free to. But they are very friendly to the senshi. All depends on your tactic. Leto would encourage you to snap their necks, I'm sure, but." He shrugged. "I don't have a taste for it. As long as you stay alive, no one will chastise you, whatever you choose to do with the knights. Just don't make us look bad."

Celemorrow reserved his doubts that his attack would be useful. He'd never seen a flower petal kill anything and he doubted tepals were really that much different. Perhaps they could scratch up someone's eyes. He resolved to aim for a face when it came time to use his attack again. The white-haired senshi's expression remained constant as he pondered these things and followed Remarque. "Whether or not I am up for a little roughhousing is irrelevant. I need the experience," he could feel that they were approaching a power signature and paid careful attention to how it felt. "What, exactly, are the Knights? I never quite understood the difference between them and the other Senshi before..." he gestured to his uniform, "...before this. The news I saw was never quite clear."

"The news has a lousy bunch of reporters, but I suppose we can be grateful for that. We wouldn't want them doing late night specials on us, so let them focus on the other senshi and knights."
Remarque didn't seem to invest too much thought into the news; they told one story, though they had no idea what they were talking about. He made no effort to rush to the signature, merely kept in mind where it was, and how they could still reach it if it chose to flee. There were mirrors all around; they could take any shortcut necessary, though he saw no need to rush things—especially while Celemorrow was asking such worthwhile questions.
"The difference between Senshi and Knights, to us, is that we can't save the knights. They cannot join us—or if they could, the way was lost with Ares when she left. The Negaverse could take them, corrupt them, though they rarely make the effort, it would seem. Far more interested in killing, their lot. Leto despises knights. I did, for a while. A long while. But I've met a few interesting ones. Loose lips and a quick tongue. Those are my favorites." He shrugged; Celemorrow could make whatever choices he liked, though Remarque offered and additional warning, "Just don't let them trick you, use you, or lure you into a trap. There are those of them that bare no guilt in harming our kind. And there is a large number of them—all infused with the power of some planet or other, from what I gather. I've met Jupiter Knights, Earth Knights, Chronos knights—those are my least favorite, mind you. I don't know how many are out there, or to whom they have sworn themselves to, but I know that they are far too eager to disrupt our plans."

Celemorrow stopped. "Corrupted," he repeated the word to make sure he had heard it correctly, "Negaverse agents corrupt knights." It wasn't phrased like a question, but as a statement that demanded an explanation. Corruption was neither a word nor a concept he liked or felt comfortable being allied with. Certainly it was used in jest. "What do the Chronos Knights do differently to make them such a threat?" The magnolia senshi didn't forget the subject of corruption, but any sort of tactical advantage would be useful. Especially since he was completely new at this.

"Corrupt," Remarque affirmed. "In that, that's what they like to call it. Really, it's saving them, severing ties with the White Moon that bound them so, but." He waved his hand dismissively. "Try telling that to anyone on the other side. Everything we do, by their standards, is bad. We couldn't possibly be helping them, of course we have to be hurting, tricking, deceiving, corrupting. I'd like you to get used to the terminology they'll be flinging at you so you can properly understand their insults and make them aware of their misconceptions."
He shrugged. "It would be ideal if you didn't have to deal with their ignorance, but unfortunately they're too keen to belittle what they don't understand and resent anything that doesn't coincide with their own beliefs. Which is where the Chronos knights come in. They are no more dangerous than any other knights, though I dislike them due to an incident a few years back. They abducted a large number of civilians to their safe haven, out in space, with the intent to sacrifice them in order to fortify their defenses. Ares, our Queen, and the Negaverse intervened, however. There was a great battle. A lot of people died. I resent them for that. So far as I know, no other group of knights have ever been involved in such a scheme. I would not be surprised if they tried again."

So that was it. The Negaverse was subverting the meaning of "corrupt" due to the ignorance of the White Moon forces. Celemorrow could understand that. He wasn't particularly fond of it, but it bothered him much less than actual corrupting. He resumed following Remarque. It was unfortunate that the White Moon forces were so deceived that they would think the noble efforts of the Dark Mirror Court were deceit and trickery. He hoped his attempts to talk to them would not be fraught with derision. He considered writing a tract to explain things clearly and succinctly. Maybe also to point out the lies of the White Moon. He'd have to do some research for that, though. Celemorrow's face clouded over as he was told about the atrocities of the Chronos knights. "I will make sure that they pay for their crimes...." but a thought occurred to him, "How did they get to space?" Maybe their energy was the energy he should be draining.

"They refuse to say," Remarque said; he made no effort to disguise the bitterness in his voice. It was a mystery that plagued him—that their enemy could have such a power and that even almost two years after they first utilized it, the Dark Mirror Court had yet to discover whatever secrets they held.
Refusing to think they might never find their own way into space, he continued, "But, no matter. We don't need them. We'll find our own way. Though, your enthusiasm is admirable. Mostly, I admit, I don't bother with knights." He waved his hand dismissively; he'd never really perceived them as much of anything other than minor nuisances, though there were a few he kept close to him for informational purposes only.
Of all the knights, there were only Camelot and Celsus that concerned him. The rest, incidental. "But that is not to say that there aren't those that need to be tended to. Perhaps this is one, now," he said, scanning the horizon. Whatever aura they had been approaching, they were close.
Verithe I think at this point they can keep talking or we can quote Lith to come in whenever!

Remarque's admission that he rarely bothered with knights encouraged Celemorrow's thoughts that they deserved further study. He made a mental note to someday capture a Knight to get information out of, one way or another. Not any time soon. There were preparations to be made, not the least of which was figuring out how to be an effective soldier. Besides, he had nowhere prepared to keep a knight. But enough thought on independent study. They were quite close to the energy signature now and if there was to be a fight, there could be no distractions. Especially without any apparent strategy. Celemorrow kept remained silent, anxiously awaiting what he would see. Kyuseisha no Hikari I say bring on the Lithia! Lithia_Brandon Luxor Page, come on down!

Remarque was not feeling particularly scheming or sneaky tonight; he did not wait for Celemorrow to sneak up to the page, or for the page to notice their presence. Instead, as soon as he saw the figure in the distance, he whistled loudly in an effort to get his attention.
"Page," he called afterwards, as if the whistle hadn't been enough. "Come over here for a minute. I want to borrow you. If you humor me, I promise you'll make it out of here in one piece."
…Not that Remarque had any intention of leaving the page too battered. He wasn't going to scare the newcomer off by traumatizing him. Killing was out of the question; he hadn't humored the idea of killing anyone, really, and he wasn't about to start now.
Threats, though.
Nothing wrong with a good threat.
And a little roughing up, of course.
