There had been a lot of commotion, alright so not really commotion as it was him silently observing his lover's sister, her condition and her trying to be rather secretive about her leaving. She had curiously asked him where she could locate the largest settlement of shifters and he had a hunch she was looking to get ahold of the father of her unborn child. Takoda had felt...somewhat on edge when she had asked him and perhaps it was due to her being on edge as well.
Why though? Why would she be troubled by asking Takoda where the shifters lived? It was certainly none of his business who the father was, but it made him wonder just the same. Was it someone he knew? Of course he was just jumping to conclusions. Maybe she just wanted a change of scenery.
Beyond that the girl was up early, requested some of the herbal tea that helped her feel...less sick from him and then packed her things and was off. It was very early, the only reason he had been awake was to watch the moon descend beyond the edge of the horizon. Looking over to his sleeping counterpart he had to wonder if Jacinthus suspected anything. After all..to Takoda is was easy to spot the changes going on in Keilana's body. But he was a healer, and thus it was his job to know these things.
Poking at the coals he went to fix up the fire, calling up fire from the air and using it to relight it. He would set about getting his lovers breakfast ready....maybe he wouldn't notice his sister was gone? Right.....not likely.

It was the scent of the morning meal that drew Jacinthus from his sleep, causing him to make a grasping motion around where Takoda had been sleeping until recently before his eyes slid open, "Hrm...?" He wasn't there anymore? It was something that caused him to jerk upright, looking around in a confused manner, before he slid out of the hammock and walked to the edge of their tree bound house, looking down toward where the fire was located and sighed in relief. Good... he was still here he found himself thinking, worrying from time to time when he slept that when he woke the Healer would be gone again. He didn't just care for waking without him, "Good morning!" He called to Takoda before he moved to change into something cleaner, grabbing up his bow and quiver, just in case, and made his way down to the ground.
Jacin was still rubbing the sleep from his eyes went he set his weapon down, resting it against the base of the tree, then leaned over to press a kiss to Takoda's forehead, "Cooking for me? That's sweet of you." Such a wonderful mate he was he thought to himself, wanting to wrap himself around Takoda and never let go... though he knew full well that both of them had important jobs that wouldn't allow for such a thing. He doubted very highly that he could really go hunting and patrolling successfully with Takoda on his back after all. Sure, he'd try, but it wouldn't go as well as he would hope for it to go. Settling down next to him he looked at the crackling fire and asked in a curious manner, "What are you making?" Not as though it mattered. Jacin and his sister had eaten bugs in the past and found that they tasted well enough if you put the right seasonings on them. Nothing wasn't edible if prepared right and given they didn't always have the best options for food they went for whatever they could get.
Leaning against Takoda he said, "I bet it's not bug related, huh?" He asked, giving a bit of a grin. He knew Takoda didn't like them and doubted very highly that he would actually cook one. Fry it with fire magic, maybe, but definitely not cook.

Takoda felt his face blush slightly at the remark of breakfast not being made of bug meat. True though his fear of bugs had lessened, he still felt queasy about the idea of eating them. Though there was nothing sweet about him making breakfast...he was just hoping to distract his lover from his sisters....absence.
"Well...I could go get some ..if you miss the taste of them." He gave a small laugh as he stirred the contents of the pot lightly, somewhat distracted as he glanced up and then felt his face grow hotter than the coals in the fire as he felt Jacinthus lean against him. "I hope it tastes okay, I decided to try practicing with my fire magic...it makes me a bit nervous still. I wouldn't want to accidentally set the plains on fire...or the forest." He admitted feeling comfortable with telling Jacinthus about his fears, after all his mate had accepted him despite all his faults.
"I was hoping you could help me with.." Oh no what was he going to say? He had hoped to keep his lover distracted all day long. "Ah...a ...kiss?" He jumped to the first thing he could think of and seeing Jac's lips reminded him he hadn't had a kiss this morning.

Jacinthus couldn't help but to wrinkle his nose a little bit then shook his head, "That's alright, now that I have my bow I am able to get us far better tasting food, the sort that normally ran away from me when I was younger." It was pretty well impossible to catch an aldabuk with a stick after all so he and Keilana had been stuck dealing with strange meals, the large bugs from Jauhar being amongst those meals. The only upside to bugs being that they really didn't try to run away. Instead they just sort of stood their dumbly and let you whack them with a stick... regardless they no longer had to eat stuff like that, not that he really thought that Takoda would or could eat stuff like that given his fears.
Leaning in he sniffed at what it was that his mate was working on, giving a smile, "It smells good so I am sure it will taste just as good." He commented, then turned to look at him as he spoke of practicing with his fire magic and how he didn't want to accidentally set the pains or the forest ablaze. He blinked a couple times then chuckled, "Yeah, I doubt that would really go over well, would it? I am sure that it will be alright though, you seem good at the other magic that you use." It was something that was completely lost on Jacinthus, he'd never even felt the desire to attempt magic, understanding it about as much as he understood the need for pets. He'd leave both things to others he thought to himself before Takoda started to ask for help with something... then trailed off.
"Hrm? I will help you with anything you need, Takoda, you don't need to hesitate or anything." He told him, then added, "Not that I mind you asking for kisses too, those are nice." He wondered if it was really what Takoda wanted, probably not, but it still sounded nice. Wrapping an arm around him he pulled the Healer to him for a kiss. He'd let it slide for the moment, but once the kiss was done he'd figure out what it was that he really wanted.

The shifter couldn't help but blush at the compliment, he was getting more elaborate with his meals. It wasn't as if he was a terrible cook to begin with..he seemed to be trying new things more often than not. But that was all well and done but when Jacinthus granted him his request for a kiss he felt his body respond happily.
With one free hand he played with some of the archer's hair before the kiss was broken. His breath always felt stolen away, as if Jacinthus had some magical power at his disposal at doing that. But now that the kiss was over he was going to have to find something else that could distract Jacinthus from his missing sibling.
Eyes widening it was as if the idea suddenly hit him.
"Do you think you could show me how to hunt? I've never hunted anything in my life...and I want to be able to help contribute to the family." Takoda stated with a nod of his head. Of course he never killed anything besides fish...always ran way from bugs...so the idea of hunting down an animal was a bit on the queasy side.

Jacinthus found himself starring at Takoda as the other was suddenly asking him to show him how to... hunt? Now that was a request that he would normally be more then happy to agree to, loving hunting quite a bit, but when it came to Takoda he couldn't help but to wonder. What was with the sudden interest in hunting? Did he really want to start to use that magic of his to strike animals down? Didn't he know that would involve cleaning them, carving them up, and then laying out the hides to dry and as well as the meat? There was a lot of hands on, bloody work that went along with hunting making him wonder if perhaps Takoda didn't quite know what it was that he would be getting himself into. Not to mention that just the mere idea of hunting seemed to leave Takoda with a rather queasy look on his face...
"Takoda... while I wouldn't really mind teaching you how to hunt something tells me the moment you need to clean it that you are going to lose your breakfast." He said, reaching a hand up to ruffle his hair, "If this is because you want to contribute to the family you shouldn't worry, you already do more then enough for us." He said in what he hoped would be a reassuring tone of voice. The last thing that he wanted was for Takoda to think that he wasn't doing enough for them, the mere fact that he was a Healer was more then enough for their small family as well as the village that they lived in. Healers were always well loved and in great demand after all, so Takoda's appearance was a fortuitous one indeed.
After a moment he gave pause, looked around, and asked, "Has Keilana been teasing you again?" He suddenly asked, wondering if his sister had said something to Takoda to put him in such a mood. It was altogether possible and not something he liked the sound of, wanting the pair to get along with each other instead of arguing and being at odds.

Takoda felt his entire face flush, okay so it was a terrible thing for him to try and distract Jacinthus with. After all it was so true, the idea of cutting open an animal already made his stomach churn..and all he was doing was letting his imagination get away with him. Feeling Jacinthu's hand in his hair he wondered if Jacinthus felt the need to shield him from such things. As a monk though he had seen worse done to people...though he suppose he wasn't going to cut a person up and prepare them for lunch..
When the subject turned to Keilana his eyes widened. "No! I haven't see her." He rushed the words out and realized a simple no could of just put a lid on the conversation...instead he just opened a new can of worms unknowingly. "ah...no...I mean she has actually been very ...nice the last few months."

Jacinthus blinked a couple times as Takoda claimed that he hadn't seen Keilana and he gave a nod of his head, "Nor have I now that you mention it... if she is off galavanting in the forest again getting drunk and tossing her hammer out of trees I am going to be forced to kick her in the rear end." He said, looking around for a moment, pushing to his feet as he looked for any signs that Keilana had been about recently. Takoda had gotten up before him and said that he hadn't seen her... meaning that she must have been up and left before the Healer woke. He could hope that she was off visiting that perky friend of hers but what if she had wandered off again? The last thing he wanted was for her to go off drinking and sulking again... Eesh, but she was being rather difficult and dodgy of late.
Turning to look over at his lover as the man claimed that Keilana had been very nice the last few months and he couldn't help but to stare at him, almost certain that something was up now. Keilana wasn't like that friend of hers, wasn't a sugar high, sweet thing. She was the sort that yelled, screamed, and swung a hammer about to get what she wanted. Meaning that if she was being sweet she was up to something, "Is that so? What else has she been up to that I haven't noticed, Takoda?" He asked of the Healer, taking a step closer to him now, a curious tone in his voice.

Takoda cringed, yep he had put his foot into it this time, and he had just gotten on the girls good side, if he let it slip her condition she was going to probably murder him. "Ah...y..eah she has...maybe she is warming up to me?" He tried desperately to lie, but he was such a terrible lair and it was rather obvious that he was lying.
"And I doubt she would be drinking in her condition so you don't have to worry about that." The monk continued and his eyes widened at his own words. Oh....s**t. "I mean...she probably learned her lesson the first time..ahha...ha...maybe she went to Animah's! We could go see?"
Now it was bluntly obvious that Takoda was trying to hide something. He stood up and moved off as if the most important thing right now was to prepare for a journey.

"Warming up? Huh... Well, that would be nice." He said, giving little nod of his head. He really did want for his sister to just get along with Takoda since it the Shifter was going to be living with them from now on. The idea that they might be warming up to one another, it was a good thing. It meant that there would be a possible peace, something that he'd missed. He gave a happy sort of smile, "I think it would be great if she is warming up to you." Though that still didn't explain Takoda's sudden interest in hunting... so what was it that... he might... wait...
He turned to stare at Takoda as he went from one comment about 'doubting Keilana would drink in her condition' to stammering about how she would surely have learned her lesson and went to her friends house. He starred for a long moment before he hurried forward, catching Takoda around the waist, dragging him backwards so that Takoda's back was against his chest. He held onto him a moment, resting his head on his shoulder, then said in as calm a voice as he could muster, "Takoda. What condition are you talking about?" A part of him wanted to hear that Keilana was sick... but then he didn't want to hear she was sick, he didn't want her sick, but the most obvious condition, that one didn't make any sense at all so surely it wasn't that... right?
"What is it that the two of you are hiding from me?"

Takoda felt that arm wrap around him and pull him back, it was the on time he wished he was more forceful and he could just wrench himself away. Instead he just wriggled against his lover like a fish on a hook. Stupid him stupid! Now Jacinthus knew something was up. How was he going to get out of this?
"ah...Keilana just..didn't want you to worry..." Okay so that was a half truth, " she'll be fine in a couple of months...I've been giving her medicine." Another partial truth. "You can't be angry with her okay? She begged me not to tell you." The whole truth. Takoda sighed as he gave up trying to pathetically escape Jacinthus's hold. "She was afraid you would worry too much...and th...that you would be angry for letting herself get...'sick'. so she asked me to not tell you..." No matter how he tried to word it though it all was pointing to ..things that would be..hard to really not figure out at this point. Takoda sighed again...
"Yo...u like kids...right?"

Were Jacinthus in a better mood he might have laughed at Takoda's halfhearted, wiggling attempts to escape his grasp given how cute it was. His mood wouldn't allow laughter though, instead just starring down at the Healer who seemed to know far more about Keilana at the moment then he did and that was something that didn't quite sit well with the Hunter. Little Kei was his sister after all, she should be coming to him if she had some sort of problem! Though... well, he supposed that if she was sick it would be smarter for her to go to a healer... though at the same time he couldn't say that he would have been able to do anything but bring her to see Takoda, but still! He should have been told!
"Well, now I can't help but to worry so she seems to have failed when it comes to not worrying me." He told Takoda, listening to what he was saying about how she'd be fine in a couple months, that he'd been giving her medicine. The fact that she would get better, that seemed to make him relax just a bit... though he went tense again when he was told that Keilana begged Takoda not to tell Jacin. That wasn't something he wanted to hear, not when it came to his sister's health! He gritted his teeth, "Of course I am angry with her for going off and getting sick! She shouldn't have been doing anything stupid enough that would get her sick!" He complained, wanting to find a halter and leash, wanting to tie Kei to their tree to keep from wandering off again... though it seemed it was too late given she was missing once more.
He was about to complain about that when Takoda asked him a question he didn't want to hear, mostly because it went from 'just being sick' to what sort of 'sick' Keilana was. There was no other reason that he would ask such a question after all, "So who was it?" He found himself asking, "Who do I have to murder for doing such a thing to my sister?" As far as he knew Keilana wasn't interested in anyone in particular, as such it had to be that person's idea, something he'd would fill them with arrows for!

Takoda's eye's went wide as Jacinthus reacted just as Keilana had predicted. Some part of him had hoped that perhaps Jacinthus would be excited about becoming an uncle, but that had been a very naive sort of hope. Of course Jacinthus would be furious to find out that his sister was pregnant and been hiding it from him for almost six months.
"Ahh..don't get angry Jacinthus! You shouldn't jump to conclusions, maybe Keilana wanted this." Takoda was fumbling, he was trying to find a reason to calm Jacinthus down, after all he had no idea who the father was of the child and though it had often made him curious right at this moment he was glad he didn't know.
He already blabbed about her being pregnant after all, though it had been a mistake on his part, he didn't want to be the one responsible for having the father of Keilana's baby murdered because he accidentally told his boyfriend. One of his hands came up to clutch Jacinthus's arm,
"I don't know who it is...Keilana never told me...I felt if she wanted to let me know she would..but you need to give your sister a change to explain herself before you throw a bunch of questions at her. In her condition she shouldn't be getting really angry or stressed."

"If this was something planned or desired she'd of at least let on that there was someone that she had interest in. It's far from that, why else would she hide it from me?" He said, none to pleased to find out that it was kept from him and only from him. Why would she tell Takoda? She didn't even like Takoda but she would tell him and not her own brother? That was yet another clue that it was someone that she didn't like or someone he forced this all upon her. All the more reason for him to hunt that person down and deal with them he thought to himself darkly. The very last thing he wanted was for his sister to get hurt and someone had done just that... Jacinthus would make them pay dearly.
The hunter set to pacing back and forth in an unhappy manner, grumbling all the while. Damn it but the morning had started out so nice he thought to himself and now it was as far from nice as it could possibly be. When Takoda explained that he didn't know who it was either, and that Jacin should give her a chance to explain herself, he nodded, "Oh, I will. She will get her chance and then she is never leaving this place again! If she is in such a condition the last thing she needs is to be gallivanting about! What if something happened?" She should just... just... be good for once and stay home he thought to himself, his pacing increasing.
The question now how to get her to stay home. Telling her to be a 'good pregnant woman' and 'stay home' would likely get him smacked in the face with a hammer after all. So how to get her to do just that? Surely she must know that at a time like this she should stay home, be relaxed and calm, and let him do the work, right? Well, more like let the father do the work but since his worthless a** wasn't about then that meant Jacin would have to pick up the slack.

The poor shifter was at a loss for words, after all what could he say to Jacinthus that would make him feel better about all this? What could he possibly tell him that would cause him to calm down and now go out on a man hunt for the man who knocked up his little sister? Licking his lips he sighed and tried to find the best way to start...
"I..d..don't know if you should be so strict...t.the tighter you make the rules and harder you are on her the more likely she will probably...you know..leave...maybe..move away...do you really want that? Sh...she is your sister...n..not your daughter..." Okay so that was a little harsh...but sometimes he felt that he was in a competition for the man's affections. Even if it was usually started by Keilana...not himself.
Takoda watched as Jacinthus paced, it was a anxious sort of pacing and it was starting to get him antsy just watching him. Moving he went to put a hand on his arm hoping that it may still him even for a moment.
"Come and sit down...I know this is a lot to take in...but you need to calm down.."
