Moving through the forest for some length of time, following the river and streams up to the far end of the forest, almost directly opposing the mountain in it's great height, is the lake. The waters here are crystal clear, enchanting even the local deer into stopping for a gander. It's temperatures vary from season to season, freezing completely during the winter time, as most lakes do. But, not every lake is as bountiful of fish, welcoming to the eyes, and as peaceful as this one. Ducks and geese next around the waters and can be seen enjoying a swim, catching a trout or carp skimming underway. Children may entertain themselves at the shallow edge, where frogs and their young can be seen darting about. Though, be wary of the reeds. Water snakes and the occasional snapping tortoise can be found hiding here, at the center of all the animals of the forest. It is indeed an ideal location for any hunter, human or other. Some, however, are not here to fish, swim, or, on occasion, ice skate, but, rather, to visit the shrine, sitting atop the muddy bank comfortably and untouched. Here, we give worship to the Wood Fairy and all it's past followers.

xoxoxoxooxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo xoxoxoxoxoxo Oliver took a long look at the lake in front of him. Sighing a bit before turning around to look at the two behind him. He wasn't too happy about this trip. Even if Kenneth suggested it. "Kenny! Hurry up man!" He really wanted to just get the picnic over with and get out of here. He really didn't want to spend some time with Penelope. It just didn't sound like fun and then there was the fact that lately she would not stop giving him a hug. Penelope smiled when she heard Oliver calling over to Kenneth. He had been walking ahead of them for some time now and didn't seem like he was going to stop and wait for them. Looking at her brother she made a face at him before running towards the other boy. Leaving Kenneth to carry the basket and guitar to the lake by himself. He was spending time with the two while he didn't have to work again. They both seemed excited at first until Oliver found out that all three of them were spending the day together. Normally he would have took his sister out to eat somewhere and stayed home the rest of the day to play a few songs with Oliver. But today he decided they needed to spend time together. Who knows? Maybe they'll finally start to actually get along and he won't have to get anymore calls or texts about how Penelope was being annoying. Or how Oliver was being a jerk. Or how Oliver threatened to cut Penelope's hair if she wouldn't leave him alone. He really would prefer to get something like Penelope and I decided to make homemade pizza for lunch. Or Oliver watched Shaun of the Dead with me today. Kenneth sighed, taking a look at the frowning Oliver and upset Penelope. They obviously got into another argument while he wasn't paying attention. He had finally gotten close enough to them to hear what they were saying. Ignoring all of it he interrupted them, "Just knock it off you two. We have a picnic and I brought my guitar. It's supposed to be a fun day."

xElric I hope you don't mind me sending Baba at ya'll? owo ◔x The RV was stuffy as heck and Baba had reached her weekly limit of her fiances. So, she quickly found a trail going through the wilderness and decided to take it to allow herself some peace and quiet. It was actually pretty nice to walk alone for awhile – the area was beautiful, though some of the wildlife had confused her and she swore she saw what may have been a panda after an hour going through the woods. In the end, though it was pretty, she was starting to wonder if Nirvani Island was less of the wildlife reserve it was advertised as and more of a dumping ground for zoos who ran out of room. She was almost entirely certain that pandas were native only to, like, China and stuff. Not little islands in the middle of the ocean. But, what did she know? She only knew how to chop them up and give them out for human consumption, not how they lived before that point.
..Speaking of human consumption, she was getting a little peckish. She had been walking for a couple of hours now, she guessed it made sense. Luckily for her, she happened to see some folks enjoying themselves a picnic~! She wasn't really one to intrude on someone's day out, but the guitar was a bit of a temptation for her. A fellow musician would understand, right? So, she headed for them, glancing briefly to admire the lake before stopping in front of the trio. “Hey, I'm Baba. Can I join you guys? I've been hiking and didn't bring anything to eat, so..” She paused awkwardly before pointing at the guitar, “Do you play?”x◔

Serendipitous Coma Not at all. :] And sorry for taking a bit to reply. xoxoxoxooxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo xoxoxoxoxoxo Kenneth had started to talk to Oliver about one of their old songs they wrote when they were younger when a girl walked up to his small little group. He was going to answer her question but Penelope answered for him before he could speak. "Sure you can," She smiled and added, "I'm Penelope and the guy with the guitar is my brother Kenneth."
Kenneth gave a small wave, "I do play the guitar by the way. What about you?" It was the question that Penelope forgot to answer and he'd feel a little rude ignoring it. Giving Oliver a quick look, he had to try to fight a smile. He probably felt a little left out that Penelope didn't introduce him too but she was going to give him the silent treatment for a while. Or he was pretty sure she was going to. "This quiet guy is Oliver by the way."
Oliver just nodded, taking the basket out of Kenneth's hand so he could start setting everything up. Baba did say she was hungry. So why shouldn't they just start passing out the food early. And maybe he just wanted to finish the picnic so he could go home and not have to talk to Penelope. She wasn't going to say anything to him if he tried to talk to her now anyways. Sighing, he set the basket on the ground. Looking at the others for a brief moment before getting back to pulling out the blanket they packed away from the basket. Unfolding it and laying it out on the grass.

Beatrice was happily walking next to Seth. At some point during their travels to his apartment and now down towards the lake, she had tossed aside her silly hat. She was pretty glad too because now her hands were free to use for talking and for patting her legs. "Y'know, if you are interested in people that are barely out of diapers... I work at the daycare." She couldn't resist bringing his sad attempt of a date back up. It was either that or she talk about her family, and she was pretty certain that he saw enough of them the rest of the time. She laughed, trying her best to hold herself back. It wasn't long before she could see the lake up ahead. "This was a really cute idea. I'm glad you still decided to do this once you found out that it was me. It would probably be a little weird going out with your boss' sister. I feel really lucky." She brushed her hair behind her ear and looked over at him. Oh and now she had made a weird moment for them. She didn't want him to get the wrong idea. So, she smiled and punched his arm. That always worked to make everything lighter and strictly friendly.

"No thank you," Sethrian said dryly. "I have a veritable hoard of nieces and nephews just out of diapers and I believe that was enough to inoculate me against any and all desire to spend time with children." He paused. That wasn't entirely true. "To be honest, I don't mind children, in spite of the large family" he confessed. "At the very least, I appreciate their honesty."Sethrian gave her a sidelong look when she called his date idea 'cute'--he supposed it was a compliment but he'd much rather think of it as romantic or something along those lines. Not that he wanted to be romantic with Beatrice, but he couldn't deny that when he'd first prepared the picnic supplies, romantic had been what he was going for. "I don't see why I wouldn't want to go with you--" he was cut off when she punched his arm. Geez, woman! He resisted the urge to rub his shoulder. Instead, his lips curved into a slight smirk. "Ah. Are you trying to demonstrate why I should have run away as soon as I saw your hat? Is that what this is? Perhaps I should have worn body armor instead of a beanie..." He gave her a smug look as he headed for the spot he'd scouted out earlier. "I'll have you know, the last woman that hit me, I threw in the ocean. And I do have a convenient lake right here. Shall we give it a try and see how deep it is?" he teased.

Beatrice smiled over at Seth. Did he really feel that it was necessary to clarify that he liked children? This seemed to be a pretty awkward experience for him and she was honestly glad that she got to be a part of it, though she would never say that out loud. She simply nodded her head. It was good to know that Seth had a nice side. He always seemed so calloused, so this side of him was a little new for her. Maybe if she had ever taken the time to talk to him at the bakery she'd already know. She found herself regretting the wasted time now, but there was nothing dwelling on it could gain her. So, she tried her best to push it out of her mind and dedicate her energy to forging a friendship now. She couldn't resist laughing at the thought of walking up to the armor-clad beanie wearer. "That would have been a great sight. Though, I'm afraid I would've been the one to run had I seen my date wearing armor." She took a few more steps and settled into a nice spot in the grass near the lake.
She tucked her legs to the side of her and covered her eyes from the light to look back up at him. "I just thought it'd be weird to go on a date with your boss' little sister. And don't worry, I promise I won't hit you anymore, you big baby." She tried her hardest to not laugh again. Thankfully, he gave her a reason not to quickly. At his remark of throwing her into the lake, she just had to pound her arm onto the ground. "That's just not very nice at all! I'm sure she deserved it, right? I mean, I hope you wouldn't do that to little ole me." She placed her arm against her chest and batted her eyes up at him.

"Given the unfortunate sense of humor of whoever it is that runs this event, next year the participants of the festival may well be required to wear armor," Sethrian said. "Various sorts, from different time periods--it wouldnt' surprise me." Of course, by this time next year, she would probably be dating someone. He, on the other hand, would probably be dolefully participating in the blind dates once again. Though he had to admit this year was still going better than last, where he'd made two girls cry... Sethrian gave her an amused look as she coyly batter her eyelashes at him. "I can assure you that I won't throw you in the lake. I would hate to lose my job over something like that," he added with a smirk. As he stretched out, he moved the basket between them and opened it. "Are you hungry? Would you like something to drink? I have bottled water and a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, if you'd prefer."
