The river cuts through the forest smoothly, few trees daring to hang over it's rushing waters. The beginning starts at the edge of town as a small stream of little to no fish rushing from the ocean and inland into the woods. It swerves around trunks of varying mass at it's own pace, uncaring for the land it burrows through. As it comes deeper in the forest, it starts to expand in size and depth, but slows down greatly from the speedy trickle it was before. Fish, such as bass, catfish, and minnows, can be seen swimming forwards and backwards inside. Most of which are small, but they are known to be the strongest fighters and thus the best sport on the island. One should ask a hawk ready to pounce into the water or a poised bear preparing for a passing salmon, as well as the river otters that inhabit the length of the river. These predators are rather docile compared to what lives in the lake just up of the river, so long as one steers clear of them. The beavers especially would much rather hide than face a soul. The rocks that line the water are slippery, but do come in for a swim – it's probably the safest freshwater pool on the island.
