The Hume army was slowly turning the tide of the war against the darkspawn in their favor though it had come at a high cost. The outlying farmlands and villages were suffering from varying degrees of drought, and some turmoil was beginning to stir among the common folk. They demanded that the King take action and find a solution. A solution indeed. "There is a vile creature that resides in the North - the Kregs - the evil of which my advisers inform me is a key factor in causing this drought. I tell you that I have sent three of the Avalon Order on this very important mission. What is this scum, you ask? A dragon kin, rumored child of the Nachterre, that can take whatsoever shape it pleases. Therefore I have charged those of the Order to return it here, alive, so that when it is sentenced to death our most powerful magi may study its skill that it may later aid our own endeavors."
The King's decree still rang in the ears of the three Holy Kights tasked with ensnaring the beast, as well as the partly pleased cries of the people calling for blood and revenge against this dragon kin. The eldest of the three named Florio led the pack most of the way, having the most experience with the land of the Kregs. A rave haired, steely eyed man with little pity for enemies of the order - a perfect pawn for the mission. Following behind is his mission mate and weapons expert Vance, bald yet with a carefully trimmed red beard, who stayed with his companion more for the adventure and fame than anything else. Finally bringing up the rear was the youngest member the Order had seen in some time. This mission was to be the final test of his training and of course he aimed to prove himself.
This ragtag party trekked for a little over a week the great distance to find a creature they really knew nothing about save what they had been informed of...and found more than they bargained for...

The sun rose a deep red that morning matched with a bitter, foreboding chill. An ominous sign of danger ahead. Even Brygida's normally calm and sweet personality could not shake off a heavy sense of dread; her father had warned her of the war one day finding its way to their home and she hadn't believed it possible, though this morning...she feared the worst.
As per her usual morning routing Brygida sat and watched the blood red sun rise, wrapped snuggly beneath the pelt of a dire bear. Yet this morning she could not seem to pull herself from gazing off to the horizon and the land below which slowly climbed up until it reached the base of the treacherous formation of ancient stone known as the Kregs that reached high up into the clouds. Her home resided at the mouth of a cavern that led far into the heart of the mountain, not necessarily concealed though she rarely had to worry about intruders. If the height to reach it wasn't enough of a deterrent, the threat of death her father had warned the creatures of the Kregs with let her live with relative ease.
He had been away for about a month, meeting with the dragon council in regards to whether or not the dragons and dragon kin should get involved with the war. For the time being they were technically neutral, though a few loose canons were making the Humes think otherwise. She was uncertain what the decision would be, all she hoped for was her father to return soon. A few hours into the day Brygida finally rose and moved back into the cave to prepare her breakfast and then to explore into the cave to look for a specific gem to complete a project she had been working on for her father.
The last thing she saw of the lands below - perhaps it had just been a small pack of scavenging animals, but she couldn't be sure - was unknowingly the trio of Holy Knights slowly but surely advancing on the Kregs seeking to find some sort of shapechanging monster, and all they would find would be a Hume formed young woman more like her mother than her father who was not yet old enough or powerful enough to actually change shape or transform into her dragon half. All the worse for her...
Her breakfast consisted of a meager mush of grains and goat milk, her food stores quickly becoming sparse. The young dragon kin was not much of a skilled hunter and the meat her father left had either been eaten already or she had shared with some of the lesser creatures of the Kregs. But she was a wonderful forager and knew where to find edible vegitation, fruits, and grains and sometimes she even had luck with fishing in the underground pools. That was where she headed after she finished eating, net and basket in hand as she made the decent deeper into the mountain.
It was a short trip to the usual spot she fished in, one ripe with shelfish and muscles that were easy enough to catch and easy on her stomach. Every once in a while she would get lucky and share one of the smaller schooling fish that she would eat raw. Reaching the water's edge she went about setting up her net near the rocks of the shore to wait while she waded in the water looking for clams. Carefully she hiked up her skirt till it rested mid thigh and secured it with the long rope she wore for a belt. It had come in handy several times before, from climbing down it to get to a hard to reach spot to supporting a cover over the mouth of the cave in the colder months, so she wore it all the time. Carefully she stepped down into the cool water and sighed as her muscles relaxed. Moving in a little deeper Brygida stopped when the water had reached her knees and looked around in the silence. While the more dangerous creatures resided in lower pools it still seemed odd that it had gone so quiet. Normally the water birds were up by now, but none of them seemed to be around. This all seemed unnatural and she strained her senses to be more alert for fear that something truly was wrong in the Kregs.

It was a simple enough mission yet the elder knight was still not pleased. Florio rarely ever appeared to be, yet his results were undeniable. He would complete this new one and in no time return to the temple where he could look forward to a bit of praise and a period of waiting before the next one was set in his lap. Perhaps his displeasure came from the tedious monotony his life had become - there had once been a time where the thought of vanquishing the next foe roused his spirit and lust for blood. Recently the missions had become more to please the King and run menial errands than anything else; Florio was made for greater things and here he was playing the pawn.
Not only that, but he had to play babysitter to the so-called prodigy that had recently joined the ranks of the Order. To think that he would have to beat this creature into submission while keeping an eye out to make sure the brat didn't get himself killed. When he had first found out he initially blamed his companion Vance for it, since it was obvious that he had volunteered them for it. "By the Heavens if I fail this mission with the child tagging along you will never hear the end of this." Florio glared at Vance who paused to take in the look before bursting out laughing.
"Oh Florio, lighten up. They all have to start somewhere and he is eager to prove himself. Just think of the credit he'll get for having succeeded in such an important mission with the legendary Sir Florio...and the ruggedly handsome Sir Vance."
"Piggy backing on the strength of others more advanced than oneself hardly seems the most productive way for him to make it on his own."
And yet there they were, travel companions, as they began their week long journey to the Kregs. Surprisingly the young one had proven himself of some use...though Florio would never admit it. That morning he had successfully snared their breakfast with barely any supplies. He would bite his tongue for now at least, especially with the mountainous Kregs looming before them a few miles ahead. This beast would be light work compared to his previous endeavors - it was a mere capture and return afterall - and if the young one continued to keep to himself they might make it back in one piece.
Or at least that was his plan, he didn't know what this creature actually looked like and what's worse when they did find it he knew nothing of it's powers or if it was alone. What he did have was the ability to see a dragon's aura so regardless of what they may finally find he would be able to tell if the shapeshifting dragonkin was what they were looking for or not.

An unsettled air seemed to hang abroad the group as they woke early morning. Already one nights time had passed and they had ventured this far into the Kregs, which would be the farthest ever Kain, the youngest of the group, had ventured. Unlike his two counterparts he was a bit wet behind the ears, and had yet to see actual combat, but excelled in training, and was even labeled a prodigy with a sword. He smirked at the thought of being the lesser of the two, but held his bearing and continued venturing forth...even after overhearing what the older knight of the group had said about him. Sure he was young, but he was neither rash nor foolish. He would prove to the old knight his worth at some point, but as for now he would just observe and listen. He had knack for figuring out people, which only added to his charisma.
Even the villagers in this day and age, with all the famine and turmoil about them loved his visits. He loved the villagers wholeheartedly knowing that his title of knighthood was only circumstantial. Had he not been the b*****d son of a noble, he would've been one of the common folk, and perhaps been every bit as content as he was now...but circumstances are circumstances, and one was foolish to turn down an offer from a noble lest you valued your life...so he became what he was told to become. He fashioned himself into a weapon with little to no remorse for the wicked, but held on deeply to his belief and hope in people...no matter how wretched and twisted some turn out to be.
He could remember seeing his first death at the chopping block at the age of twelve. The master of the house he was training under saw it fit for young squire-lings to experience death early...Finding himself smirking once more, he reached for his canteen and took a reserved sip of it. The sun was getting high in the sky now, and he could feel slight beads of sweat streaking down his back as he trudged along in his armor. A bath perhaps would be nice when they bed down for the night. Still the day was young, and he figured they had a long way to go, and no guarantee they'd find a clean source of water.
Kain was more excited though than frustrated truth be told. Although he had no choice in becoming what he was, he did solely enjoy the thrill of swordplay. He was enchanted by the tales of drunken veterans at the local pub, and felt the adrenaline of battle course through his veins with every spoken detail. He wanted more...he wanted to know the weight of a sword when tasked in taking another life. He shook his head and smirked again, his helm masking his face completely due to the face-plate being down. Finally lifting open the face-plate to his helm, he took a deep breath of fresh air revealing his face for the first time since on this journey. Truly he was not the war-torn, gruff man one thought he would be, but instead held true to the look of a fair skinned young man with bright eyes...still...even looks can be deceiving.

Vance had one thing in mind when he accepted this new mission: a pretty little maid who worked at one of the local taverns. Certainly to the most strictly devout of the Order frowned upon his earthly obsession, but they just didn't understand what it meant to be in love and to have a good woman by your side. Philotis was a sweet thing who often tended to his wounds when he returned from a trip. After this one, she had promised that he could marry her and that was incentive enough.
That, and of course, keeping Florio and the fresh meat alive. Kain, that was his name, he would have to keep reminding himself of that or he'd wind up sounding as rude and cynical as his friend. In fact, he was excited to see this new recruit in action. The stronger and more able the new ones were the sooner the veterans could retire to an easy life and live out the rest of their days as heroes of legend. With or without a wench and a few offspring besides them.
"Don't worry about him," Vance offered to Kain at one point. "He just gets this way when he's focused. He's not that bad when you get to know him...if he lets you that is. If he gets on your case, however, just mention the time we were lost in the Elysian Forests of the South; that usually shuts him up."
The air that day seemed to be charged with energy which seemed to be the only thing pushing them on in spite of the beating sun overhead. They were getting close, Vance could feel it, and even as they could finally see the Kregs before them he had the feeling that by nightfall they would have their mark. He glanced at Kain when the younger man shifted his face plate and he chuckled. "So tell me Kain, you've been awfully quiet today. Are you excited for your first mission? True, it won't be as exciting as slaughtering a horde of fiends - though we really don't know what we might find before we get to our mark - but just you wait, that swordsmanship will come in handy before we make it back to the kingdom." After some time Brygida began to settle down and resumed her normal routines. Eventually a bird or two appeared and skimmed the surface of the pool and she was glad to see them. Waiting for almost an hour in the cool waters she returned to her net and skillfully pulled it up with a meal's worth of shellfish and a single trout caught in the meshed fibers. So her luck was good today, this pleased her.
Gathering up her things she sat down on the shore and examined the contents of her net. The poor fish flopped around uselessly out of water, gasping for air. Brygida frowned at the dilema of hunger versus pity; her father had taught her that there would always be times when one had to act for the sake of their survival, regardless of the actions required. Yet still her conscience sometimes won out over her necessity to have a bit more to eat that day.
Gently she reached into her net and untangled the fish from her net, holding its life in her hand for a moment longer before releasing it back into the water and watching it pause, almost as if to look back at her in thanks, before swimming off and disappearing into the dark waters. Brygida smiled to herself as she cracked into a clam and sucked on its meat. When her father returned she hoped he would be pleased with her; he never wanted her to become like those of their kind that terrorized the land and the Humes for sport, and so long as she retained her humanity so to speak she would not fall prey to the madness that plagued her people when they allowed themselves to succumb to what was referred to as Vnere - a virus that determined the alignment of one's soul.

Hearing Vance's voice for the first time in a few hours broke Florio's train of thought. His friend had been unusually quiet since they started off that morning and without realizing it Florio had almost missed the endless prattling and quips. Looking back over his shoulder he eyed his companions and sighed. Shifting his own helmet he spotted a nearby formation of rocks and settled onto one, unsheathing his sword and looking it over.
"We rest for a moment and make our plans. In very little time we will be upon our target and without knowing specifically where it is I don't want to go in unprepared." He said as he began to sharpen one edge of his blade, then the other. "We'll have to be prepared for anything. It's been too quiet so far...something big is coming, I can feel it."
It was true. He knew the Kregs well, spent most of his younger years as a member of the Order within their earthen walls. There was usually more activity than they had run into as of yet. Not always dangerous or vicious - the lowlands usually housed many birds and small creatures. It wasn't until you got higher up that the monsters got stronger and blood-thirsty. But he had yet to see any flying overhead yet. Nature was out of balance and this concerned him.
"Vance, your gossip's report on the location of the cave is accurate, yes?"
"He hasn't proven false yet. It should be right up in that formation, pretty isolated compared to the rest." Vance replied, pointing up to a shorter pillar of rocks a little to the east. From their distance Florio swore he could almost make out the mouth of the cave and smirked. "Seems a little strange, you'd think that the Nachterre would hide it's offspring a little better, further in the Kregs."
"This may just be the entrance to its home. There's no telling how far underground we may have to go to actually get to its lair, and who knows, this may not be the actual thing. I do believe, regardless, that it will at least point us in the right direction."
((Sorry my fiance surprised me with a trip and I've been away all week. Back now and ready to RP!))

Kain paused briefly as the elder of the trio of knights revealed the location to their targets lair, and a slight chill went up his spine, as if he had peered upon death itself...still composure was everything, and he hadn't worked his way up the chain to be called a coward now. "Wait..allow me to venture first...afterall I do seek to prove myself worthy of your company Sir Florio. If you permit I shall go in alone, and flush this creature out. If any trouble occurs and I fail and fall in battle, than you shall be free of me no harm no foul...but if I succeed...you will view me as a comrade in arms, and no longer as a burden."
As he spoke those words his heart almost seized up within his chest, but had come to far to bow down now. This was most certainly his one chance to prove himself to the man he had come to admire. Yes...he admired Florio, and grown to idolize the man through tales of his achievements. Young squires would pass on such amazing stories of his battles and feats, and at first Kain didn't care for them...but upon happenstance, he saw the knight in action in a skirmish battle...and all the tales he heard came to life in what he saw. Gritting his teeth and putting away his pride he looked on at Sir Florio hoping to get the answer and opportunity he yearned for. He would find this enemy and prove his valor...or so he thought.

At the sudden interjection from Kain Florio was honestly taken aback. The young one had kept mainly to himself - or at least in Florio's mind he had, seeing as how he had kept him at a distance and had kept him at a distance - and to hear such a bold offer took him a moment to process. Then a strange sound left him as he wrapped his head around the possibility. Laughter.
"You've got guts young one, I'll give you that." The older man began looking to Vance for support; obviously his companion would find this funny as well. And yet Vance seemed unusually serious and seemed to be thinking of the possibility as well. "Not you too."
"Why not? He has just a right as any to want to prove himself, and since you've been so cold I don't see what you've got to lose." Vance finally replied with a wink. Florio frowned and looked to Kain again for a moment before throwing his hands up in defeat.
"Alright Kain, you've got your chance. Head up into the Kregs, find the creature, and bring it back if you can. If you do I will give you the respect you will have earned. You have two hours, after that we'll be following in behind you. Do we have a deal?" The elder man held out his hand to shake on their deal, finally meeting Kain's eyes in earnest.

Kain in reply lifted his visor to his helmet and revealed a devious grin. Finally he could show a little spunk and blow off a little steam. "Add a night of drinks on you old man and you got yourself a deal..." he replied as he briefly shook the old knight's hand and walked on past him with little to nothing said. He didn't look back as he walked into the shadows of the Kreggs, and kicked his head forward letting the visor to his helm drop back concealing his face once more. He wouldn't let the old man down, well at least he wouldn't die cowardly. No...he'd be a damn hard meal to whatever it was up ahead. Slowly he slipped out of sight from the others as he ventured further towards the mouth of the cave. His heart pounded loudly within his chest and his mouth became dry as the darkness seemed to surround everything around him.
He looked back for the first time seeing a small pinhole of light in the distance...had he gone that far already? He stared into the darkness making out faint shapes and sizes, but still nothing prominent and decided to remain still until his eyes adjusted appropriately. After a minute or so he began to move, his shirt clung to his sweat covered body beneath his plate mail. The temperature change was drastic...instead of a dry arid heat, he felt a humid heat...perhaps he made it into the cave. He snorted at the fact that it simply was just to damn dark to tell, and scanned about the cave straining his eyes to see anything. It was quiet, but he could hear residual sound in the distance. He debunked it as the normal groans and creaks a cave would usually make and made his way forward, deeper into the darkness.
His vision was already horrid with that blasted helm on, but he was no fool to go gallivanting into enemy territory unprotected. He gripped onto his blade tightly to assure himself that it was still there...and then he froze upon seeing a soft emerald green flicker of light in the distance. He stared at it intently as it shimmered against a distant wall...it resembled a body of water. He moved closer and he could hear the soft sound of water being disturbed and he readied his blade quietly. He slowed his breathing, and crouched down as he neared the source of the water, and peeked into an entirely different room revealing a large body of water. He nearly gasped when he saw it...a disturbance in the water, and hid back behind the wall...something was definitely in there.
He swallowed hard as he put his back against the wall, and said a soft prayer to himself before silently slipping into the area. He froze as came face to face with...with...a woman? A scantily dressed woman at that...wait...wasn't there supposed to be some megaboss monster in here? Wait...she could be it's slave...I mustn't let my guard down...even worse...she could be the monster itself! And so went his train of thought as he brought his blade forward to front of him and advanced closer.
"In the name of my King...you have been charged with high treason, and are to be brought to the capital to be tried for you crimes against huma..." he was cut short as he tripped upon a rock, and flew into the pool of water clumsily...the guys would never let him hear the end of this...and even worse...he was a really horrible swimmer.

Brygida sat back when she had eaten her fill, leaving enough behind for lunch and perhaps even dinner, and combed through her hair with her fingers. Her gray almost blue locks were usually done up in a braid to keep it out of her way, but she had neglected it that morning and let it flow freely. It was soft like a fledgling's new feathers. Playing with it a bit longer, she decided to continue to leave it down for the time being. It made her feel, well, free.
Then she heard it. The distinct though quiet clink of metal on metal, perhaps metal on stone, from behind her coming from her home. Her heart began to race again like it had that morning and she paused straining her ears to catch every possible sound waiting to decide if she should dive into the pool and hide. And yet something held her there. Too late the heavily armored thing came upon her and spoke in the language of her mother. At first she didn't understand him mainly out of fear because that sort of sight looming over you was terrifying, but she could tell that he hesitated for whatever reason and then before she could even blink he tripped over a dark rock and disappeared into the water.
Had that really just happened? Maybe she hallucinated the man, seeing as how he was gone as quickly as he came. Looking after him at the surface of the water he was struggling then seemed to start to disappear. Maybe that metal was too heavy...would he drown? Suddenly the whole moral dilemma of if the attacker would die or live came into her mind and Brygida had to chose between overwhelming fear and her innate goodness.
Rising onto shaky legs she bit her lip as she mulled over her options. He wasn't resurfacing on his own, and she doubted he was part fish. Praying that her father would forgive her for saving this man she dove into the water after him. Her eyes adjusted to the dark quickly spotting him as she swam towards him. Maybe this was just a ploy and he would strike her down with that scary sword of his before she realized it. The closer she got though she realized that wasn't the case. Taking him by the arm she tried to swim with him back towards the surface but even in the water that armor was too heavy for her to lift. She drifted a little with him before she came up with a second plan, removing her rope belt and tying one end around his waist and swimming with the other towards the surface.
It took some struggling but she breathed fresh air again as she strained to pull the rope up with her onto the shore. From there she had a bit more leverage but it was like trying to bring up a boulder with floss. Tying off the rope to a nearby rock for security she began to pull on the rope, shortening the distance between this creature and the air she knew it would need. As she felt his life getting closer and closer to her, his words resounded in her head. Treason, crimes...what on earth was he talking about? Brygida had never set foot outside of the Kregs.
Finally her work paid off and the metal thing came right up to the shore and stopped resting against the rocks. Brygida tied off the rope again to keep it from drifting, but kept her distance. Was it even alive still? Patiently she waited for some sort of response while simultaneously preparing to run for her life away further into the mountain where allies of her father might protect her.

Sinking...yes, this was the sum of all his hard work on the field. To think the struggle of his life would end here. He didn't even try to unlatch his armor knowing that he'd drown before successfully trying. No family to care if he died, he felt cold an alone as his thick armor finally clunked against the body of water's floor. It was becoming increasingly harder for him to hold his breath and his vision waned as he struggled to live all the more. He was nearly at his end before feeling a tug at his arm...was it an angel....and like that she was gone. She returned shortly thereafter, but the young knight was drifting now, and barely noticed the rope tied about his body.
It was a life saving gasp of fresh air he took when he first broke the surface and landed within shallow waters on all fours. His helm poured with residual water, but he could breathe. He quickly removed his helm, and tossed it carelessly to the side savoring the sweet sensation of air filling his lungs, he brushed his wet matted hair from his face revealing his features clearly for the first time. He was a blonde with fair skin, and a full set of teeth, which was a rare thing in these days mind you. He had very dark eyes in which one had to strain in the light to see his pupils. He froze as he remembered the reason why he came, and slowly peeked about the cave before resting his eyes upon his savior. He wearily stood up and faced the woman kneeling before her.
"I am Sir Kain, a knight by honor, and you have saved my life. I am within your debt m'lady so you may ask any favor of me at anytime...but might I ask why you are staying here? Tis said an enemy of great strength lies within these caves. Allow me to escort you out safely so that no harm shall come of you..."
Of course Kain knew who she truly was, but fact of the matter was that she saved his life and if she wanted him dead, she could have left him to drown. Besides...his blade...he dropped it down there...if she was as strong as they say then he was at a horrid disadvantage. For now he would just play the role and judge for himself what type of being this woman was. So many complications...this should have been a simply carried out mission, but he failed to take into consideration how beautiful his opponent could be...and of course how clumsy he could be.

Watching as the water began to drain out of the armor she nearly squealed in fear as it took off it's helmet to reveal what was beneath. A man, and in her opinion having only seen a few other "men" - dragon kin in their human forms more accurately - a beautiful one. Brygida froze and couldn't seem to draw her eyes away even as he neared again and dropped into a respectful pose before her. As he spoke now without his helmet distorting the sound she found his tone almost soothing, not unlike her father's, and she liked his name.
Yet how his attitude seemed to change so quickly! Her father had told her about knights and their codes of behavior. For saving his life, he now owed her a favor. Interesting..."Kain." she repeated softly, testing the strength of her own voice that she seldom had use for when she was alone. Her father had taught her common tongue ever since she was old enough to understand, inspired by the thought that her future held a peace between the dragons, the humans, and the rest of the world where mixes of races could live and thrive in harmony.
"Sir Kain, you are far from home, eh? Staying here...this has always been my home, as long as I can remember." Brygida began to answer in a lilting, accented voice, offering a weak smile she hoped concealed some of her fear. "So I suppose the answer to your question is that this is my home. As for an enemy of great strength, yes, deep within these caverns lie some of the vilest creatures that exist in the Kregs. But you need not fear them, they know to stay away from the surface...from me..."
She stooped carefully to pick up her catch bag and stopped noticing they were at eye level. He seemed almost less threatening at this angle, this distance, and his eyes sparkled with the reflection off the water's surface that few would be able to notice. Then she felt her cheeks grow hot and blushed, turning away. "The offer, while kind, is unnecessary. There is nothing dangerous around here, save perhaps you." She added boldly, looking back over her shoulder at him for a moment. "But come, let me offer you some food and a place to rest while you revive yourself. You do not look entirely well." And with that she slowly made her way back towards the mouth of the cave, wondering if he would actually follow and if she was making the right decision or not. Would he really grant her a favor if she ever asked him for one? If he was a knight, as he father described, then wouldn't he rather die then go back on his word?
Reaching her home which branched off of another path than the one Kain entered from she settled her bag down and went about starting another fire in the pit. It would be a lot easier if she could use the skill of 'fraer', or 'fire' as the humans called it, but that too would not develop until she was able to take on her dragon form, and then only with practice. Instead Brygida used flint and tinder as her father taught her and she was by now relatively skilled at on dry logs and within a few minutes a small but bright fire lit her home with a soft orange glow. Finally she looked up to see if the Knight had followed; he hadn't attempted to kill her yet, so maybe he wasn't as much of a threat as she first thought even if she didn't realize that his mission detailed that she was to be brought back alive and that he had lost his weapon at the bottom of the lake.

Of course the knight followed instead of following his gut instinct. How was he going to explain this to his companions? How long had he been in the cave? With each step came question after question, and his worry grew. He was bound by honor to return the favor, and so began his inner turmoil. He knew who she was, but the desire to fell her became naught. He sighed as he finally ignored the turmoil that wretched at his heart and continued forward. He had already come this far, so why not a bit further. If she was some sort of cannibalistic being, there was no saving him now...he was enchanted so to speak. Finally coming to a new area he stood at the entrance of her abode, glancing about in fits of awe and curiosity. So this was the big bad creature plaguing our country? Wait...no...she spoke of a father...perhaps he is the beast he was sent in after.
"You spoke of a father...is he here?" he asked as his heart began to pound. His eyes darted about the area searching every crevice dreading in seeing his foe. Battle was lost upon the young warrior, but in all the tales of his youth from the seasoned veterans...they all spoke of fear, so he knew it was natural for him to feel as such. Finally entering the threshold he sat across from his strange yet beautiful savior and settled in. After a moment of scanning the area he grew confident that whoever this father figure was...he wasn't there now, and that gave him cause to relax a bit and learn more from this captivating woman. "Forgive my rudeness, but I have yet to learn of your name m'lady? T'would be a shame for a knight to not know the name of his savior."
His armor was so troublesome, perhaps next time he'd come with less. Reaching upward he carefully unlatched his breast plate, and sighed as he pulled it from his chest feeling the rush of cool air come in. He had a white cotton shirt that clung needlessly to his body. The rest of his armor came off rather easily...the gauntlets, leggings, all of it save the boots came off leaving him nearly defenseless, but he felt no need for armor, and thought it best to be more or less unrestricted in case he need to make a hasty retreat...besides a fight was out of the question now that his blade was lying on the bottom of the lake/pool/pond...whatever it was.

She smiled to see him there, though she wasn't sure why. "No, he is away, though I expect him to be back any day now." His sudden interest in her father intrigued her. Didn't he know whose cave he had wandered into? There were certainly more dragons than just herself and her father, but something in his face made her think that he was uninformed of many things of the Kregs. What exactly was he doing so far away from home? Oh yes, he had been sent to bring her to his capital on the charge of some king, whatever that was. That was when the thought crossed her mind - maybe he was actually after her father...
Now there was a notion. She didn't know what her father could have possibly done to anger a human king, he was at the council discussing how to avoid that after all. Kain had to be mistaken. He changed the subject as he finally sat down and she decided to tread lightly on the rest of the conversation. "My name, knight, is Brygida. And there is no need to call me 'savior', after all it appears you came here searching for a monster by your words earlier. What changed? And what are these crimes you speak of? I tell you, on my father's life, that I have never set foot outside of the Kregs. Father says I am too young to venture far from home."
Not when I can't even fly, she thought, settling down across from him. Brygida watched as he began to remove his armor piece by piece - as it clanked on the floor she couldn't imagine how heavy it must be to wear. However seeing his real body...Brygida bit her lip and turned her head again as she began to blush brighter than before. He really was attractive.
