(moose and me!)

Isith groaned inaudibly as she streched back out on the banch panting. The rain had been nice but the days that followed brought the crippling eat, and her thick black coat was at hell at these times. She scowled at the branch across from her, where her twin reclined. Damn him and his pearly white coat! She snorted in his direction looking annoyed.

Safi just stretched out along the branch with a grin on his face. Even though the sun burned his skin at times, thanks to his lighter coat, he was in no way suffering as much as his dear sister. Still, that didn't mean he was going to go easy on her. "What's wrong, Isith? Feeling a little warm?"

She bared her teeth at him in annoyance...though they both knew he was more likely to hit her than she would him. Glancing at the sun's position she gave an internal groan and sighed rolling from the branch to land on her feet. It was her time to go patrol. Their father use to do all the patrolling, keeping eye on danger from the outside, when it was clear Isith would follow his footsteps she took over half the daily patrols.

With an agile roll, Safi copied his sister and soon found himself at her side. It was clear by the way that he was spending so much time with her that he was about to leave to look for intimate company. As much as he loved his females, he loved his sister more, and showing her that before leaving was important to him; especially on the off chance that he wouldn't return. "Why don't you ever take Cari with you? She'd probably be good at this." His daughter adored her Aunt, and continued to surprise him with her ferocity.

The girl really could be a beast at times.

She gave him a sharp look. She knew what he was up too, but didn't mind. He always came back home to them, usually with babies in tow for her to love and raise in lue of the cubs she couldn't bear but to sugest to bring her Cari...whom she could not love more if she had borne her..into danger? SHe shook her head sharply ears going back.

Safi just rolled his eyes. "She's hardly a child anymore, Isith. Cari is full grown, and I would rather she get a solid foundation before she runs off." The thought of his children leaving him didn't bother him as much as the thought of them running off and getting killed.

Isith shuddered closing her eyes. The other cubs she knew would leave one day but Cari...She gave a short, brisk nod of pain looking away as she began to trot, despite the heat.

"Hey, why don't you come with me? Help me find a really pretty one." He winked, brushing up against his twin. "I'll tell you now, cheetahs are my favorite, but I'm not really picky."

She blinked at him started then grinned bumping back against him making a mooning face at him. What male took his sister with him when courting?

Then again isith was not a normal sister....more of the best wingman EVER.

Safi started to laugh, shaking his head from side to side as he walked. "So you'll do it, then? I really don't want to go out alone this time, and I can't bring myself around to asking Cari. I mean, who takes their daughter out to look for...you know." He chuckled.

Isith wrinkled her nose at him with a dramatic sigh before nodding rubbing her head against his shoulder. They would have to let their father know, though honestly he would probally be realieved to know someone was guarding Safi's back while his mind was elsewhere.

He nuzzled up against her, brushing his mane against the side of her head. His father would understand why he was taking her away, right? Cari could help with the workload while he was away, and surely they wouldn't be gone too long.

Isith closed her eyes giving the hoarse growl that served as her purr. She loved the big lug with all her heart, womanizing snob he was at times.

"You should find someone, too, while we're out." He leaned up against her, content with their little moment. "Not for just sex. Someone to love." The way he said it was whispy, like one who had experienced love, and watched it go.

Isith rolled her eyes amused though she wouldn't meet his eye. She had yet to see a male that even sparked her attention but she couldn't tell him that. There had to be something wrong with her...if they knew...

He bumped into her, taking her failure to meet his eyes as embarrassment. "Come on, Isith. You never know; on our little journey you might just find the one to put a little zing your heart."

She snorted at that.

"It's true."

Isith sighed looking at him with a vaugely annoyed look.

"Okay, if you keep that face then you'll never get anywhere. You won't even get laid! Nobody is going to want to be around a face like that."

Isith sighes softly lowering her head, ears flicking back before looking at him with a flat look. What did she need that she didn't have here? She had the love of her family and cubs that needed her here.

Safi just waved her off. One day she was going to understand that the love she could get from a significant other was ten times as great as anything she'd get around here. It lifted your spirits and made you feel worthy; something he hadn't felt since Mani left. Gods above, how he missed her.

Isith nuzzled his jaw with a sigh. She knew he hurt and she would do anything to to make it better for him.

Safi just nuzzled her back and kept walking, determined to get in this last patrol before bailing out. He was sure Mani had her own plans, and he couldn't fault her for it, but...that didn't mean that he didn't dream of a world where they had raised their children together.
