It wasn’t often that Safi broke away from the Koti with his daughter in tow, but today was special. Today he would be showing his eldest daughter, his own Cari, to her new step-mother. She had already been grown and raised within the sanctity of the pridal lands before the twins had come across their gypsy love, and he couldn’t very well show her the lioness when his own son had been so young. Xabryel would have been a prized slave for Cari; something to be coveted and protected within the boundaries of the hybrids pride as a breeding slave. It was something he had taught to her and something that he regretted with a passion.

Still, now with one offspring on either side of him, walking across the marshy landscape to where he had left his twin and mate, it felt right. “…Giving me the silent treatment now?” He looked over his shoulder at his scarred daughter, who only passed him a scowl. “What?”

"You romanced a lioness without so much as bothering to tell me, sired cubs by her, and raised one with another lioness, one that you saw fit to mate. I can't imagine why any of that would have been interesting to me." Cari snapped, casting her mouth to the side in a pout. Her father had always been open with her, and when he had finally decided to leave the reigns of the Koti's leadership with her sister, she had felt...lost. Without the family, her Aunts and Uncles, her father...All she had was the pride. The hybrids became her family, and with them, she'd gathered strength. The leotahs skills were known far in wide; both as a huntress of prey and slaves.

Her eyes drifted to the side, where Xabryel shuffled his paws awkwardly as he walked. He had tried not looking at her all day without much success. She supposed that the idea of having an older sister was just as odd as having a younger brother.

"Did she...did she treat you well?" She asked of him, having to look up to meet his eyes clearly.

"Lulu?" Xabryel smiled, love pouring out of every pore. "She's as much my mother as the lioness who birthed me. There hasn't been a day that she wasn't there for me, and I know our family thinks that I'm spoiled because of it." He chuckled. After seeing the pensive look on her face, however, he sobered on a forced cough.

He had three elder siblings; two sisters and a brother. It was odd, to say the least. At first, Xabryel had assumed his Amazon sisters were the only siblings he had, but when he was old enough to defend himself his father told him everything. Now that he was bigger he could make trips to the pride with Safi, under the disguise of a beloved slave, and as long as he played his part well, he would be able to leave the lands as well.

"I think they were close, weren't they? This area seems familiar..."

"I thought the Amazon's name was Lulu?"

"It is."

"And...and the one that raised you...her name is Lulu as well?"

"Yes." He smiled. "It has a nice sound to it, don't you think?"

Isit yawned lazily, an ear flicking as she dozed in the cool shade during the heat of the day. She wasn't one hundred percent sure where Safi had gone, but for once in her life admitting that didn't fill the dark leopon with horror. Xabryel was with his father, and as goofy as the boy was he -had- been trained by her. He wasn't as good as 'her' cub Cari, but he was good enough to protect his daddy if need be. The other reason...well.. She cracked open an eye as she heard the rhythmic twinkling sound of her gypsy queen working on something or another. Opening her other eye, she lifted her head from her legs to watch the black and red lioness work on the headdress Abrafo had commissioned. How she and Safi had gotten so lucky was anyone's guess.

Unaware of her watcher, the tall leggy lioness concentrated on lining up the bone beads she had so carefully scratched out. Lulu knew that the family loved her even if she didn't make masterpieces, but this was for Father to give to Mother. That and she knew once Safi returned there would be no more chances to work.

A small smile curled her lips thinking about her other mate. He was a handful, but she knew without a doubt he loved her. Once he may have roamed and strayed, never staying with a female for long, but Lulu had no doubts where his heart and body now lay.

When Safi crossed the knoll, he knew without a shadow of a doubt that what awaited him would be his girls. It was already too late to turn back if he had wanted to, which as uncomfortable as this may be, it would have to be done. His family was already "unique" enough without adding unnecessary drama to it.

With the sun on their fur, the three white felines descended from the sloped hill like Death's angels. Safi, as their father, remained out front, and thus was the first to come across the two females. With a loping smile to Isith, he crossed the space between himself and Lulu to rub his cheek against hers. "Been keeping yourself busy, love? It's beautiful."

Xabryel, even though he was by far the largest of the three, didnt' seem to care about presence. He came loping through the brush like a stampeding water buffalo, flying past the pair to head towards his darker guardian. "We found her! Shadow, we've got Cari!" Even without being told from his Aunt, he knew of their connection. His grandfather had told enough stories, same as his father and Uncle, to fill his brain with countless meeting scenarios.

A pity they would all be ruined by his own paw.

He pounced on the black leopon, affectionately nipping at her ears with a smile as bright as the sun itself. The only thing that marred it was a single, solitary scar that bisected his lower lip, giving the smile an odd tilt. A scar that Safi himself couldn't figure out the origins to, and Xabryel himself had been to young to remember.

Unlike the other two, Cari approached the family unit cautiously. Her Aunt she wasn't worried about, in fact, she was glad to see her, but this lioness...Lulu. She was a pretty thing, though, and a crafter, it seemed.

Cari herself looked down at her scarred legs and took a deep breath. She was anything, BUT textbook beautiful. Scars marred her light fur as plentiful as stars in the sky, and where she had once had the grace of a young adolescent she now had the muscle of a warrior.

She had to wonder what kind of picture she presented. Not that it mattered; if this Lulu had chosen those two, then physical bodies would no doubt mean little to her.

"Hello," She stated awkwardly.

Isit gave a faux groan trying to toss the rambunctious grown malecub off her. Her heart stopped for a moment as she saw Cari..her beautiful, beloved Cari. The daughter of her heart and soul. Isit licked Xab absently before pushing him away to get to her feet. With that hoarse, demonic croak that was her voice now, she called out to her, "Cari..."

Lulu laughed trying to fend Safi off, "Thank you sweetheart but if you make me loose one of these beads you are going to help me replace them. It took three months for me to find the matching boneshades." She mock threatened him, watching her son go pounce Isit. Such a handful the boy was, all heart and little brains, but in this family it didn't matter. Only the love did.

When the strange female spoke, Lulu smiled at her warmly about to respond when Isit spoke. Gold eyes widened in understanding and surprise. So this was the elusive Cari. Isit beloved cub, and Safi's pride and joy. "It's so nice to finally meet you sweetheart."

Safi chuckled and nipped at her ear before baking off. "Fine, fine, I'll leave you alone. Father would have my head if I was the reason this little project of yours was delayed." Even as he said it, the awe was clear in his tone. Lulu's talents were something of a wonder to him, just like her natural being; like the one pearl in a sea of thorns.

He stepped to the side so that he could see his entire family interact. Isith's reaction had his lungs emptying of air. For one who so rarely spoke to say her name...It had his eyes glistening.

Muscularly skinny legs carried Cari a little closer to her loved ones with a look of awkward love on her face. Her eyes had misted, much like her fathers, though she was fighting terribly to keep them hidden. Her Aunt had been more like a mother to her than anyone else in this world, and seeing her again, hearing her... "Shadow".

She wanted to run to her, but the lioness held her back. The Leotah was still too tense, too on edge to accept things as they were. "It's nice to meet you as well," she coughed, trying to release her voice from the flood of emotion. "It seems you were told more about me than I was of you."

Xabryel roared and tried to go in for the pounce once more when the shadow cat shifted. After giving a little disappointed groan, he sat up to see the interactions unfold. Granted, he was so shocked to hear Isit speak that he almost curled into his own skin, but he did little else.

This was all between them, and for the moment he was content to be the fly on the wall
