Monster MountainPerched atop steep cliffs and reachable only through a carved path, the mountainous area contains a small pine forest, a crater lake, and the top of the falls. Much more rocky and sparse than the rest of the island, this area maintains a more spooky ambiance than the rest of the island.

Banshee was perched on a rock. Being perched on a rock was nice.
She also gave a little screech because a bug had wandered onto her hand and that was her hand thank you very much. So the morning started out with a loud yowl from Banshee. Nothing new.Quote: Name: Banshee (given her to by keepers without ... consideration ...) Species: Frost Wyrm like black skeletal icy dragon thing idk ;_; <3 Physical Description: She's kept in half humanoid most of the time. Black hair dip dyed blue. It's straight and drapes in front of her face something like this. She's mostly skeletal with a glowy blue core, glowy blue eyes- its a deep saturated blue. Outfit is something like this w/ blue/black color scheme. Black skin with skeletal parts. Horns, wings- dragon-y stuff. Also has a foggy fog emitting from her body just to add to general ~spookiness~. When she's not half-humanoid, she's a frost wyrm, as pictured above. Brief Character Profile: Banshee has a very strong sense of justice. She's very calculated, often thinking in percents and proportions. She has a really strong sense of what's right and what's wrong she is the law. She's relatively friendly, but can be somewhat stagnant to interact with. She likes technology and other things she can take apart and put back together. Has a hard time breaking out of her shell, but not neccessarily unfriendly. A speaks-when-spoken-to sort of person.

Francis had been sunning himself on his favorite rock near the lake. The sound of a distant shriek caused his golden eyes to slip open half way before he grumbled to himself. Lifting himself up off the rock, the Basilisk turned a few circles before settling back down. Scratching at his back with there of his feet Francis yawned before returning back to his sun bath. Quote: Name: Francis Species: Basilisk Physical Description: This only black with bright gold eyes. Brief Character Profile: Francis is a bit grumpy half the time. Probably cause he's always sleepy for some reason. He enjoys a good staring contest though for some reason all his opponents just shrivel away suddenly. He spends most of his time near the crater lake basking in the sunlight on his favorite rock.

Rocks were sooooooo in. Gemma, too, was perched on one at that very moment. Of course, she was pretty much made of rock, so that was like cannibalism. Or was it? The gargoyle wasn't entirely sure... the sunlight made her brain hurt. Ow. She looked longingly at the nearest shade, but her heat-addled mind couldn't quite figure out how to get herself over there..Quote: Name: Gemma Species: Gargoyle Physical Description: A big stone gargoyle, solidly built, with dark gold eyes and moss/lichen 'hair'. Has wings far too small to realistically support flight. Also horns and a stubby tail. Brief Character Profile: Big lumbering, and clumsy, but with a sweet and gentle soul. She is loud and boisterous and finds standing perfectly still, as most gargoyles must, to be a bit of a chore. Direct sunlight fries her brain somewhat.

It was warm, and Argos was pleased and sleepy, curled up in a now smoldering part o the pine forest where he'd settled for a nap far, far away from Kip. The dragon was the size of a small hill, and apart from the way flames sometimes simmered from his nostrils, he seemed almost motionless and - peaceful.
But anyone that knew anything about dragons knew that Argos was not peaceful. In a constant state of sedation, yes. But friendly and harmless? Ha.
But today was good. And warm. And nice.
And Argos liked sleeping and no one had bothered him yet apart from a few birds now digesting in his stomach. Until someone decided to screech.
The sound hailed an immediate reaction, the dragons eye sliding open and his head rearing back without thought to turn towards the noise. His maw peeled back, revealing fangs licked by an ever-burning collection of flames smoldering in the heat of his throat. His mind bent only to base instinct, with only a thin veil of more educated thinking somewhere in the back of his mind. But he could only hunger in the form of very empty stomach, and anger at having been awoken when the day was finally shaping up to be an alright day to sleep.
Argos threw his head back and roared. Quote: Name: Argos. Species: Red Dragon. Physical Description: Large, heavyweight dragon. Argos's scales are dark red with a black underbelly, and his wings, tail, and forelegs are all spotted through with dark green patches. His horns are large and curved with smaller, less prominent ones surrounding them, big enough that when he sleeps, birds and other creatures can pretty much perch there. (search red dragon on dA for ideas hahaha /lazy) Brief Character Profile: Perpetually ill-tempered, lazy, territorial, vain, possessive, and protective. He doesn't like being disturbed, but even when he is, he is either too sluggish to do anything about it, or he's half-hearted in his attempts to get back at whatever has caused him grief.

Banshee looked at all the people that had come to perch around her rocks. It seemed she'd picked a relatively popular place. She had the urge to tell everyone that these rocks had rules, but she subdued it.
Then Argos went and roared and Banshee squinted at him, concentrating somewhat hard. < No roaring without good reason! > she tutted, moving her head mirthfully and settling back down on the rock.
It was then that she spotted a little (well not so little) gargoyle struggling to get to some shade. With a puff of her fog, she moved a nice icy breath of air the gargoyle's way, pushing it with her wings. Hopefully that helped ...

Ahhhh- with a blessed puff of cool air Gemma groaned. No, standing on a rock wasn't cannibalism! Phew. She was so relieved. She turned her head with a creaking sound like the threat of a rockfall.
< Banshee is good friend, very good friend. > She lifted one giant paw, then the other, and trundled over towards the cool spot. The instant the shade hit her head she relaxed, turning more fleshlike and less stonelike.

There was no sign of Kip in the area. At least, none for those who had their eyes turned away from the sky. However, for those with keen ears, the soft creak of the tree branches as something large moved from branch to branch, would be the only sign that Kip was ever present in the area.
A mischievous grin plastered to his face, the harpy continued to move, silently through the forest as he watched the ground beneath him intently. It was only once he was directly above the slumbering dragon that he stopped; fanning his wings out wide for balance.
Argos was naive to think he had lost him. He was better than Argos, of course! Stupid dragon was so big and thick headed. He was a fool to believe he could outsmart Kip and lose him in the forest!
And now he had found him.
Thanks to the screech of another, the second Argos reared his head back, Kip jumped on the spot with an excited shriek of his own, slamming his feet down so hard against the branch that it shook several large pine cones. Pine cones which then dropped down like an irritating rain upon the dragon. Possibly right into his wide open mouth.
At least it wasn't rocks, this time.
:Argoooosss, why are you eating tree droppingsss?: He called. Though no sound escaped his mouth, other than the shrieks and chirps as he hopped down from his branch, gliding around the large dragon, Kip's telepathy, unfortunately, was just as capable of creating just as much noise as his vocal cords. Only it was in their minds.Quote: Name: Kipper "Kip" Species: Harpy ( male ) Physical Description: here Brief Character Profile: A s**t disturber. Kip loves to piss off/pester/annoy both creatures and humans alike and will do it in whatever way he can. Whether its swooping down at them, sitting perched on their backs, clawing them, and more, he'll do it.

There was another dragon there as well, but he was doing his best to keep to himself, and not be noticed. Drawing attention to himself usually meant he was stuck with either a handler, or another beast, following him around for however long, and honestly, he just wanted to avoid the whole thing if possible. With a soft snort the pale beast curled his claws around the luminous pearl that never left his possession. Long, sleek body coiling around it protectively. Quote: Name: Shu Fang, though occasionally referred to as Falkor? Species: Luck/Pearl dragon Park Location: Monster Mountain Physical Description: Pretty much like this, but more fluffy. Like so. Only he's all white, with iridescent scales peeking . He is extremely possesive over a very large black pearl that he carries with him everywhere. Brief Character Profile: A bit of an aloof grump. He's not outright hostile, but generally comes off as indifferent towards other creatures or situations. He would prefer to be left alone with his pearl, but considering his home, that's not usually an option. Prone to napping while curled around his pearl. keiifuu Feel free to pest my cranky dragon. <3

Bubbles just jiggled a little before slowly oozing its way across the land. It was on the lookout for food, as always. The pellets their caretakers offered really didn't do a whole lot for it, and so it was just slowly making its way about, hoping to find something to pass over and digest. Argos, predictably, choked.
Pinecones, he thought in lazy rage as he hacked, incinerating the tiny tree droppings in his mouth, should have known.
And then, <KIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!>
It was louder than any physical roar, bursting through the minds of any nearby monsters or creatures roaming about. The dragon reared up onto his hind legs, breathing fire angrily into the tree branches that he knew the tiny nuisance was perched on. He slammed back down after a moment, shaking the ground around him as he unfurled to his full height.
He should have known that Kip would have found him sooner or later. How surreptitious could a giant, flaming red dragon be, after all? His tail lashed, slamming into the trunks of pine trees around him and sending them shaking and straining against the dirt, some crashing down in the wake of his irritable reaction.
Tossing his head, he extended his neck and snapped his teeth at the tiny harpy, flames licking at the crevices between his teeth.
<You know why, bird, and I will eat you instead!> It was an empty threat, but not one that was entirely unnecessary. Kip was an extremely bothersome little thing after all.
Argos shook his head, turning back towards Banshee's voice.
<I have a reason to roar now.> He returned with smoldering irritation, and turning back to the branches, he settled back onto his haunches and unfurled his wings half-way. <Come here, bird, so that I might eat you quickly and with pleasure.> chimarii gonna go to premiere now, bbl!

Indira loved the heat of the day, and had coiled up on a sun-warmed stone--as far away from the others as possible while still able to keep them in view should they suddenly decide to be stupid and/or entertaining--to enjoy it. At least, she was trying to, but it was hard to do when those dumb dragons kept roaring. [Be quiet! So noisy,] she scolded. Quote: Name: Indira Species: Naga Park Location: Monster Mountain Physical Description: Upper half: older teenaged girl, brown skin, dark eyes, wavy black hair reaching to her waist. Lower half: king cobra. The hood begins at her waist and ends at the top of her neck below her jaw. Small fangs. Brief Character Profile: Indira isn't your bff, nor does she have any desire to be--you are only as useful as the entertainment you can provide her with. Stop being fun, and she stops caring. That goes double for those irritating guests. Aloof as she absolutely is, if she deigns to pay you any sort of attention, it will be on her terms, or not at all.

Kip was still gliding, occasionally giving a lazy wing beat now and then, but only enough to stay aloft and just out of reach of the red dragon.
:Stuuupid.: He crowed, swooping in closer. :Argosss is too slow to catch food. Lazy lizards should stick to eating tree droppings.:
The complaints from the others was responded with a gurgling laugh.
:Silence is dull. Land lizards and snakes complain too much.:
At Argos' invitation, Kip landed on the red dragon's nose, clawing at one of his nostrils, before he quickly took flight again. Only this time, he didn't climb higher, back into the trees. This time he glided lazily over to one of Argos' thick horns and perched gingerly on it.Quote: Name: Kipper "Kip" Species: Harpy ( male ) Physical Description: here Brief Character Profile: A s**t disturber. Banshee just stared at the two with slight disdain. < Argos! Knock it off you two! > Her eyes flitted nervously, looking- almost waiting for some sort of corporeal punishment to come falling from the sky. It turned out it was only the birdbrain come to bother them. < On second thought, raise hell, > she said shortly, giving the little harpy a look of annoyance. Even if Argos was somewhat like an overbearing older brother to Banshee, they could both agree that Kip was a pest.
A more draconic roar erupted out of her as she was dragged from her rock, claws scraping along the edges frantically. It took her a moment to realize she was caught in Bubbles' jelly-like matrix. She screeched something akin to the very reason she was named Banshee. She'd been trapped by Bubbles, and being somewhat of a lightweight (considering she was all ice and bones) meant that she had a hard time dragging herself out.
< Help! He's got me! I'm going to die!!! > Well wasn't this embarrassing.
