There was a rather small cluster of thoughts that niggled at the back of Sharra's head, inquiring, wondering if he should be angry about this. This complete lack of appearance on the part of his best friend. He'd heard that Marosa had returned from the feylands a handful of days ago, back from his trip with his parents. As worried as the blond boil had been about the entire affair, the demon would have assumed it common courtesy to at least check in. You know, the whole bro code and all that.

All right. So he was lying about the anger.

Sharra was worried. Worried and admittedly disappointed that the Gancanagh hadn't graced the Nergal with his presence since arriving back at Amityville. The redhead had made appearances at important things like...classes, and the cafeteria. So he wasn't dead. Not dead was good. But Marosa had been in the presence of his ne'er-do-well sire, and that had left Sharra fretting and twiddling his thumbs.

He'd expected at least a 'hey, I'm here and safe and s**t' message from his, you know...best friend?

So here he was, clad in slacks and a black hoodie, staring fixedly at Marosa's doorway, and slowly knuckles arose to knock emphatically, three times in quick succession. "C'mon, man..." He murmured, crossing fingers behind his back that the fey boil was actually all right.

And not mad at him.

Somehow.

He wasn't sure how that might be a thing, but you never know.

The faerie boil hadn't been in his room, but it was at this time that he returned, arms full and weighted down with bags of groceries. There was a chocolate stick hanging out of his mouth as he stopped before his door, staring at Sharra with a mixed expression of joy, and guilt.

"Lo," Marosa stated softly, though the action had made the stick break, the chocolate piece falling and falling on the floor. He looked at it with a forlorn expression, wings falling flat against his back. "... aw."

His wings looked a bit more mangled than before, as if they were wasting away from lack of nutrients. With how much food Marosa actually had, however, that was not the likely source.

The fey glanced up at Sharra again, arms still loaded with the bags and not allowing him for any hands-free experiences. How had he expected to get into his room again?

Sharra sucked in a sharp breath, turning swiftly so that his eyes could settle on the newly-arrived fey. Oh good, so not dead or er... The Nergal winced faintly, all right, well he was a bit the worse for wear it seemed. Honestly, he had to wonder if any of the physical signs were due to actual daddy trauma or Marosa busy cornering himself off somewhere and starving his FEAR-cravings. Neither answer pleased him.

Bending, he instantly plucked the fallen bit of sweet and held it aloft between thumb and forefinger. "Three second rule. You want it...?" And the demon helpfully waggled it in the redhead's direction. Because if the fey didn't call dibs, Sharra was going to eat the darn thing.

"Also you look like you...need...help. I can take some of that, or is the room locked?" He imagined it was. Reaching out, he curled an arm around one of the other boil's grocery-filled burdens, tugging it from Marosa's grasp. "I hadn't heard from you...so I figured I'd check in..." He held his questions, though his concerned expression implied the queries that were likely to arise once they were in a more private arena.

Marosa's only answer was to lean over and grab it out of Sharra's hand with lips and teeth, crunching down on it with evident pleasure.

The fey did love his sweets.

"Aye." Unloading the bags, he smiled as he unlocked his door, then began to put things away in the apartment. When the door shut, Marosa began to speak.

"Aye. Oi returned from the feylands... only to have forgotten ye." He sighed, jagged-looking wings fluttering. "And then when oi finally remembered ye when I had a date with Roch, it was... disconcerting. And then oi began to piece things together. I forget things every time oi go tae the feylands." He shook his head, his hands shaking. It was upsetting.

The movement startled him for half a second, and then Sharra colored vaguely about the ears, laughing sheepishly as he then habitually licked the chocolate from his own fingers. "Glad to see you abide by it." Certain constants in the universe were comforting.

Making himself at home, the blond began to help the other unpack his bags, leaving the actual placing of items to the fey, as the Nergal didn't quite know where everything went just yet. It relieved him, somewhat, that Marosa began to explain first, that Sharra didn't have to answer all the questions.

It felt nice, that lack of guarded words and defensiveness. Hard to come by these days.

"Marosa..." The demon's brows furrowed, a now strangely familiar ache welling up in his chest, an echo of the emotions that had nearly torn him apart that night, caught betwixt the fey boil and Sharra's djinn. It was almost eerie that they would arise now. "You forgot me. ******** forgot...you remembered me again, and you say this happens a lot?!" His voice raised in pitch slightly, reaching out to that trembling hand and curling fingers around the fey boil's wrist. an attempt to steady him with touch. "That's not healthy... Sounds like something is intentionally screwing with you, my friend." Jack help him, he didn't know what he'd do if suddenly Marosa didn't know who he was.

A pause.

"Waitwait. You went on a date with Roch?" Oh come on now. Didn't see the other for a few days and suddenly his bestie was going on dates that the Nergal didn't know about?

Somehow that bothered him.

"Aye. But oi kinnae place it." He shrugged, frowning as Sharra's fingers curled around his wrist, and he paused for the briefest of moments. "... Sharra, ye remembered what happened last time," Marosa stated gently, tugging his wrist away from his best friend. His eyes were sad as he gave the nergal demon a glance, but then he went right back to putting away the rest of the groceries.

"Oi were lyin' beside the lake and Roch came up, and then the jacking ghoul touched me, then started sproutin' off that he loved me. And there was a fair bit of kissin', too." Of course, one or two kisses to the faerie was 'a fair bit'.

Tension flickered at the corner's of his eyes for a moment, the Nergal disconcerted at the fey boil pulled away. It stung, somehow, that Marosa recoiled from his touch; regardless of the motives, they were friends... Sharra could look out for himself, dammit. "Yeah and...?" There was something subtly challenging about the statement, soft though the words were. "So I'm never going to be able to put my hands anywhere near you, is that it...?" They weren't angry...instead probing and perhaps a touch saddened. They'd suss this out one way or another, but the blond demon would be damned if he just sat down on the sidelines while his best friend struggled with his own inner bogeys.

Lips thinning into a thin, unhappy line, he nodded as the redhead recounted his time with Roch. All right. Well, logic said that he should be happy for the Gancanagh. Perhaps if Marosa branched out into the dating scene he'd find himself some emotional stability, perhaps even an outlet for his hunger.

Which was why that knee-jerk roil of possessiveness was really uncalled for and out of place. Sharra had obligations.

"So was it a one time FEAR-flavored event or are you guys going to make this a regular thing?" The question came off casually enough, as he then leaned back against the counter and over towards the fey boil.

Marosa didn't comment on the first jibe, instead staying quiet until Sharra had asked about the date.

"Oi was mindin' me own business when the jack-damned boil touched me." The faerie sighed, putting his hands on the counter and staring across the room, eyes unfocused. "Oi dinnae like tae let others down, so oi went along with him on a date. So he'd feel better. His ghoulfriend broke up with him, and then he spouted off on how much he was in love with me..."

It was then that he turned to stare at Sharra, his eyes haunted.

"Oi dinnae want tae be the excuse for someone tae get over someone else. Oi dinnae want to be that boil. So if I have tae refrain from touching people, especially my best friend, oi'll just deal with it."
