A hoarse groan emitted from her throat as Aislin began to stir. Shifting a little, sharp pain shot down her arm, and she gasped as she came to completely. Opening her eyes, she looked around and found herself on the ground amongst leaves and other debris. Easing herself up carefully, her injured arm against her chest, she looked around. She was in a pit, she realized once she tilted her head back and saw the circle of light high above her. There was a low whine and Devlin's yellow eyes appeared over the edge.
"Don't Dev! Stay where you are. Don't come too close. You might fall in too," she called up to him. He gave another sorrowful whine before backing away as instructed. Breathing in deeply, she looked around again to assess her full situation. It didn't look good. With her arm hurt, the likelihood of her being able to pull herself out was slim to none. Carefully, using the slick, muddy wall, she eased herself up to her feet and winced as her left one twinged a bit. It wasn't broken, but it was definitely bruised, she thought, leaning back against the wall behind her. What disturbed her the most, she realized, was that this pit didn't look natural. It was too perfect. That made her a little angry to think that some hunter thought this was a respectful, clean way to hunt. Still, maybe that meant someone would come by to check it.
"Hello?! Anyone out there?!" she shouted as loud as she could, her eyes scanning the edge far above her.

She walked through the forest carefully, knowing there could be traps. She was not quite sure how she knew there were traps, instinct perhaps? It was safer to stick to the trees rather than the open roads. There were plenty of opportunists out in the open ready to take what they could get.

She paused, hearing the whine of the animal and listened. It sounded like a dog, or worse. She pulled her gun out and continued, slower this time, listening carefully. Was that a voice?"

Aislin sank down to the ground and watched Devlin as he appeared again, looking more agitated with her cries for help. She really hoped that he wouldn't slip and fall in too.
"Anybody?!" she cried out.

Devlin gave another low whine and danced around the edge of the pit. He needed to save his mistress. He just didn't know how.

The woman paused and listened to the voice. Part of her wanted to ignore it and keep going, if they were dumb enough to get into trouble that was their own problem ... wasn't it?

She sighed as the folorn voice called out again and changed course to head towards the sound. She came out in a clearing. There was a rather large wolf and a hole.
"Hello." She called out.

Devlin turned at the sound of footsteps and the voice that followed. Immediately his hackles went up and he issued a low warning growl.

Aislin blinked as a voice called back and she heard Devlin growl.
"Hush Dev!" she shouted up at him. "Please! Can you help me please? I can't crawl out," she called to the woman's voice and struggled back up to her feet again.

The woman looked at the wolf and smirked a little as it growled.
"I will kill you if you try to hurt me." She said simply, it was the wolf's choice really. Carefully she moved to the edge of the pit and peered down at the woman at the bottom.
"I will get a branch." She replied, looking around her for a fallen limb of a tree. Once she found a suitable one, the woman tucked her gun away and reached out to take hold. She dragged it over to the edge of the hole.
"Stand back in the corner she called out."

Devlin continued to growl for a moment, though eventually stopped as the woman moved closer to the edge. With his hackles still raised he watched her closely.

Aislin bit her lip as the woman threatened Devlin and she really hoped that he would behave himself. When she appeared, she peered up at her and nodded at her assessment. Shifting carefully at her instructions, she took a deep, cleansing breath and nodded again. "Okay! Ready when you are," she called up to her.

She dragged the branch and grunted as she pushed it over the edge, easing it down until it reached the floor.
"There, now you can climb out." She commented, looking down at the girl and ignoring the over dramatic animal.

Aislin eyed the large branch she had pushed down and breathed in deeply again. This was going to hurt a lot, but there was no other way out. Making her way through the old leaves, she carefully started to pull herself up. Grunting against the pain and exertion, she held carefully to the branch with her injured hand and extended her other one up to the woman.
"I really appreciate this," she breathed.

The woman shrugged as the girl climbed up the branch and shrugged.
"Next time you might want to be more careful where you walk." She gave the girl an almost friendly smirk. "You're hurt." She observed. "Is your home nearby, is there someone who can help you there?"

Aislin gave a little laugh at her advice and she hugged her arm tightly against her chest. She would definitely be taking that advice from here on out. Looking down at Devlin as he approached her and nudged her with his cold nose, she ran her fingers into his thick fur.
"I don't live far from here, but it's just me and Devlin. I don't have anything that I could repay you with, other than food and drink if you are interested?" she asked with a small smile.

"I didn't ask for payment, I asked if there was anyone who could look at that for you." She nodded to her arm. "There's a town not far from here, I could get someone or take you there."

Aislin smiled and shook her head.
"I know you didn't ask for payment. I was offering it. It really is the least I could do. Who knows how long I would be stuck down there," she said, looking to the pit. "I have what I need back at my place. I would appreciate your help getting back there if you don't mind?"

Well, she didn't really want to but she was hungry and when you didn't know where the next meal was coming from you shouldn't turn down the offer of food.
"Okay." She replied softly. "I will go with you."

Aislin smiled as she accepted and nodded to her.
"Excellent. It's really not far," she said and started to slowly make her way deeper into the woods.

Her home was modest. It was a simple four walled structure with loads of drying herbs and flowers hung from the rafters. She had come across the abandoned structure and poured her heart into making it sound again.
"Here we are. Just make yourself comfortable. I just need to wrap my wrist up and I'll get you some tea and food," she smiled and walked over to a chest on the floor.
