It wasn't late enough that Anella was tucked in bed when she'd gotten word that some senshi was dropping Orah off; she had fussed and worried the whole time she waited for him to come and drop her off. When he finally arrived, even though she'd had so much time to prepare, she found she had no idea what to do.

The senshi hadn't stayed, and Aventine couldn't blame him, though she would have loved a little extra help in making sure her friend was all right. When he left, she locked and bolted the door behind him and then set about tending to Orah. The girl had been placed on a bed in the unused, sparsely furnished guest room of Anella's flat; it had a few boxes and hadn't been used for anything other than storage in a long while.

On the table she had collected a quick assortment of things; she had a box of Oreos, a glass of ice water, and a first aid kit that looked like it belonged in a hospital.

"Okay—hey!" Anella said, wringing her hands together in front of her as she looked down at the girl, eager to do whatever she could to help. "—So, okay, how are you doing? What hurts? —Can I get you anything? What happened?"

She wasn't shy of enthusiasm, she just had no idea what to start with.

Orah had been more or less passed out by the time Chaonis had dropped her off at Anella's, barely clinging to consciousness enough that she hadn't powered down and revealed her identity. It was a little silly, but her only thought had been to not let him know that this was not just the second, but third time he had rescued her. The tally was getting embarrassingly long...

So as soon as she was set down and the door was closed, the senshi transformed back into her civilian form and lay back with a groan.

"I'm going to get your bed bloody." Orah said as she struggled to pull herself up against the headboard, feeling the pain in her side intensify with the motion. "And I... I think I need stitches... but I can't go to the hospital... they'll call my dad." Hopefully her friend would understand why without much more explanation than that.

The wound looked fairly serious as she winced and pulled her shirt up, her hands trembling from shock and fatigue. The deep gash ran across her ribs, angling downwards as it went. Luckily, it had skated across the ribs rather than sliding between them, or things could have gone much worse than they had.

"I'm sorry... I didn't know where else to go..." Orah said as her voice started to waver too, choking with tears. She'd kept the crying to as much of a minimum as she could to save Chaonis the bother of saving a weepy female, but now that it was just them... it was hard to hold them back.

"Hey, no, no, no," Anella cooed, hand quickly going to fluff the girl's hair. It was a silly action, considering she was staring at a large splash of blood. It was easier to focus on not looking at the gash, but Anella really couldn't risk letting the girl bleed out. Her eyes flicked to it numerous times, though it took a long number of seconds for her to actually move into action.

"It's an old bed set, mmkay? You get all the blood you want on it, I've been itching to redecorate. I mean, don't bleed out too much, I don't want you to lose that lovely complexion of yours." Focusing on the décor was easier than wrapping her mind around the idea that Orah was basically bleeding to death right in front of her. She fumbled with the first aid kit, pulling out some antiseptic wipes. "You know you're welcome here, I said you were welcome here. Any time. Even now. I mean, I'm not the best doctor, but—yeah, honey, that looks deep. I've got butterfly stitches, but I'm not sticking a needle in you. And if you need more than butterfly stitches, I've got tons and tons of duct tape."

Talking helped distract her; her own hands were trembling, so she could only imagine what Orah was going through. She wasn't sure if the girl needed something to focus on or was going to be of any help, but she thrust an almost empty orange pill bottle into her hands. "Well, if you want some painkiller, that might help, I can't ever get the damn bottle open. It's prescription, legal—from when I got my wisdom teeth out a few months. I don't think I can do this nicely, you know. I mean, it's probably gonna hurt if I touch it, but I have to clean it up before I can try any sort of patching up. I can get you anything—alcohol, ice cream—my dog—anything," she said as she tore open the packaging on the wipes and held one near to the injury, hesitating on actually mopping anything up yet. She seemed reluctant to actually do anything without permission, but she'd been talking so much already she figured she would take the opportunity to take a deep breath and try to dispel the lightheadedness before she ******** something up.

Seeing Anella so flustered actually helped Orah to calm herself a little, knowing that breaking down like this wasn't going to be helpful to her friend. Obviously, neither of them were doctors, but maybe between them they could patch her up enough she wouldn't bleed out. The comment about duct tape brought a little smile to her face, and when the pills came into her hands, she forced herself to down one. She needed to take the edge off of it if she was going to think straight.

"Don't worry, just do what you need to do." She said as she shifted herself, trying to give Anella the best angle to reach her. "I know its going to hurt, but I can take it." Orah was starting to feel a little bad that she had just sort of dumped her injured self on her friend and caused her so much trouble, so she was trying very hard to be helpful and less of a bother.

Feeling the need to keep talking as a distraction for them both, she decided now was as good a time as any to fill in her friend about what exactly had happened and how she'd gotten herself into such a state.

"I was chasing a youma and dusted it in a construction site. I don't know, maybe I wasn't paying enough attention, but Painite found me there. I stopped her once before when she was trying to pull out Tsui's starseed, so it wasn't like she was happy to see me. I tried to run, but I guess the higher level negaverse agents has this teleporting ability and she caught up to me really fast." The ability had been a very big surprised to the young senshi and she wished someone had mentioned this before. It might not have made a difference, but it had been a nasty surprise.

"She might have killed me right there and there, but there was a civilian woman nearby and she made this big crashing noise, which distracted Painite. She hit me with her spear, but I managed to call Chaonis on my phone while she was distracted. He was the one that brought me here, he got there pretty fast and she ran when she saw him. This is, like... the third time he's saved me now." Any action on her wound would bring about a grimace and a hiss, but she held herself together while it was done, doing her best to take it all as calmly as she could. There was no reason to make this harder on Anella than it already was.

Anella's blood ran a little colder when she listened to Orah's story. She knew little about the higher ranked Negaverse officers—and hearing that they could teleport wasn't exactly the sort of thing that was going to help her sleep better at night.

"Painite, huh? What a name," she mumbled, swallowing the lump in her throat. There was that word again—that one that made everything seem so serious. Kill. That General was ready to kill her. It was an unfair, unmatched battle—even if Tsui had been involved, she was obviously outmatched if the General was getting at her starseed. Or whatever. Anella couldn't really claim to understand the idea of a starseed, but she hadn't really gone out of her way to ask before and now hardly seemed like an appropriate time to be doing so. "You have to tell me though—Tsui, she's okay, right? I mean…she got her starseed back and is as fine and dandy as ever?"

Orah was talking. She seemed in pain, but she was conscious and alive—and that was just how Anella wanted to keep her. With great hesitation, Anella began to hastily dab at the skin so she could clear of the blood. She was as ginger as possible, though her nerves and shaking hands were making it a little difficult. She wiped up the girl's skin quickly, not wanting to waste time so more liquid could ooze out and mess up her work. She quickly peeled a few of the butterfly stitches and applied them, pushing Orah's skin close so that she could try and seal the wound. "You think some superglue might help?" she asked offhandedly, trying to force herself to focus on how she could be useful and not on how much this must hurt.

Orah whimpered as her side burned, her arm tired as she held it up and behind her head to keep it out of the way.

"T-Tsui is fine... that was a while ago. I saw... Painite with her hand in her chest and I tackled her, knocked her away... and then Chaonis, the guy that brought me here, showed up and scared her off. It was because I saved Tsui that time that she came after me this time, and she nearly got me too... I couldn't do anything, she was too fast and strong." Her voice wavered at first, but the girl reigned it back under control, not wanting to upset Anella more than she already was by bleeding all over her bed.

"Super glue?" She asked lamely, wondering if it was a good idea to put glue into an open wound. What if it wast toxic and got into her blood stream? It was hard to really worry about it, exhausted as she was. Anella had to have a good reason for asking about it, so it must be okay...

"Uh, well it's not like, not the stuff you would use to glue your bumper back to your car or anything. I got it in this first aid kit, so it's gotta be medical, right? They wouldn’t try to poison you in a first aid kit!" Still, she had her own fair share of doubts. Her eyes flicked from the injury to Orah's face; she could have been blind and still managed to see that this wasn't easy for the girl. She didn't reach for the glue, instead finished carefully applying a few more of the little strips. It had been bloody, but she hadn't had to stuff any organs back into the girl.

"All right, I don't know how sealed up it is. I think some air is good for an injury, for clotting or something? Don't quote me on that. But I think that this might be enough to…to keep it sealed so it can start reattaching? I don't think you should be getting up too much any time soon, but you know—we can figure that out in a minute. What do you think, should I stick more on? Or should…do you think this is okay…?"

"Oh..." Well, duh. If it was in the med kit, then it was most likely medically safe. At least Orah could blame some of her dumbness on loss of blood.

"I... honestly don't know. I guess as long as the bleeding stops and everything is... together, it should be okay? As long as it doesn't get infected, I suppose." She said as she relaxed a little, feeling better for having done something, even if it was makeshift and clumsy and didn't help the pain. There was really nothing they could do about it without finding a doctor or someone more versed in medical practices than they were. Orah didn't know anyone like that, so she was no help in this matter.

"Maybe we should wrap it up, though... protect it from germs and stuff, and maybe help the stitches hold together. I feel like I'm going to pass out here any minute." Her exhaustion showed in her voice and she could feel how heavy her eyelids were getting. "Oh, wait... I need to call my dad. I'm going to tell him you're helping me study and that I'm staying the night, ok? He's not going to be happy about such short notice, but he'll let me do it."

"Oh—yeah, yeah, good idea," Anella said, nodding enthusiastically. "Let me grab a phone, you can call him and I can get the bandages ready…clean up this mess a little bit, get you tucked in so you can just rest. Hold on," she said, scrambling to her feet. She felt a little more comfortable leaving Orah's side for just a moment now that blood wasn't pouring out of her, but she was still very shaken.

She made a quick trip to the bathroom to wash her hands off; there was something odd about watching the water tint red and then collect in the sink for a moment before draining away. Anella avoided looking in the mirror; she didn't want to see her face. Just wanted to get the blood from her hands so she could get Orah the phone.

Grateful now more than ever that she had made the decision to purchase dark towels, she dried her hands off and then went to fetch her cell phone. "Do you want me to type in the number, or do you want to?" she asked, half offering the phone and half ready to press in the buttons for her.

Orah had nearly nodded off by the time Anella got back from the bathroom with the phone and she offered her a bright, tired smile as she reached for the phone.

"No, I think I can do it. Thank you, though." She chuckled as she dialed on it and held it up to her ear. After a few moments, she said a bright 'Hi, Dad!'.

"Yeah, I'm going to spend the night at a friend's house, ok? I have some studying to do and I really need her help. Oh, you haven't met her yet, her name is Anella. Um... yeah, I met her at school. We don't have the same classes, but she's done this before. Yep. Okay, Daddy. Alright, I'll see you tomorrow. I love you too." Her one-sided conversation has done in a brighter voice than her face showed, an act put on to sound half-way normal to her father. The lie was inevitable, but she tried to fudge as little detail as possible. She didn't like lying to him, but there was really no help for it.

The teen sighed when she finally hung up the phone, handing it back to her friend. "I think maybe a nap now would be good, if that's okay." She said softly, offering her a shy smile. She felt frankly terrible for just dropping all of this on her friend. She was going to have to do something extra nice for her once she felt better to make up for it.

"That's totally fine!" Anella insisted, taking her phone and pocketing it quickly. She made quick work of trying to clean up, dabbing around with a wet washcloth.

Ultimately, she didn’t want to agitate either the injury or Orah. "How about…we worry about the mess in the morning, okay? I mean, it's not even that big of one!"

She was trying to be a bit optimistic, but at the end of the day, who cared? No one used this room so there wasn't any sort of rush, and she could at least tell herself that this was the perfect excuse to get this place cleaned up. "Let me just get you some blankets, you can bundle up. You look exhausted, so you should go ahead and rest up. Anything else can wait until later! I'll stay up for a bit," she could do that; she didn't have classes or plans for tomorrow, and she wasn't going to sleep easy without knowing that Orah was doing okay.

She bustled over to the closet and pulled out a few thick blankets before shuffling back over. "I think these might work. And if you need anything, don't hesitate to call, I'll be right in!"

Orah let her friend fuss as much as she liked with the blanket, content to tuck herself down into their warmth and dryness. She figured at least she knew now that she didn't have a problem looking at her own blood... an unfortunate thing to find out, but still good to know. It was also good to know that when she really needed her, she could count on Anella to help her out, even take care of her when she had no where else to go.

Reaching out, she gently squeezed her wrist, laying back in the bed.

"Thank you, Anella. I really mean it. It means a lot to me." She said sleepily, already ready to doze off.

Anella was so on edge that she almost jumped when the girl grabbed he wrist, but quickly relaxed and forced a smile. "—It's no problem, Orah. You just take it easy. I'll leave the door cracked so I can hear if you call, all right?"

There wasn't any reason to stress or worry, she told herself; There was no more gushing blood, and Orah didn't look like she was an inch from death…

Or Anella just wanted so badly to think she was doing all right that she was deluding herself. She shifted to give the girl's hand a squeeze. "Just get better. I want you to heal as quickly as possible, all right! Now rest up, have good dreams, okay?"
