Jack Bauer is back! Hit Fox show 24 will be returning to TV screens in the not-too-distant future, it has been confirmed.
According to Deadline, following “marathon negotiations” star Kiefer Sutherland has finally signed on the dotted line, paving the way for the show to get a green-light.
The site claims that Fox will announce the revival at its upfront presentation today.
The new series will be overseen by returning 24 exexutive producer Howard Gordon, who also executive produces Showtime’s Homeland.
UPDATE: During a press call this morning, Fox President Kevin Reilly not only confirmed that the series will be back but that it will span 12 episodes rather than 24, and that it's expected to debut May 2014.
Said Reilly, [It's] 24 compressed over 12 weeks. It will go chronologically over the day, but it will skip hours. It will be dictated by the plot.” The new series will be called: 24: Live Another Day.
