After much bone weary traveling, Esmeralda had finally made it back to Astral city. She’d checked in with her professions master who seemed to have forgotten she’d been out and about for so long, and then she’d gone to her new parent’s home. They’d moved since she’d left their nest, they hadn’t wanted to use her bedroom so now they’d gotten a much bigger home. There were actually at least two other bedroom on top of hers, her parents and her unborn siblings. It made her briefly wonder if her parents were planning on having more children after this one. She didn’t hold it against them, but she didn’t understand this sudden need to have children.
Because Esmeralda hadn’t been home in months, they’d stuffed all of her things together into her bedroom and hadn’t bothered to fix anything. Esme spent the first day of her arrival just placing things and throwing out all her old things to make room for newer ones. Her room now looked bare with its white unpainted walls, she noted she’d have to go out and buy things to at least make the place welcoming. The rest of the day was spent helping her mother around the house with chores, something Esmeralda certainly did not miss!
With the baby soon to arrive, Esmeralda decided one day to go out to the market and buy it a gift. It was a tradition in their family to do so for all the children being born. Younger, her parents had bought something for her to give, but now she was old enough to actually go out and find something by herself. She had of course, no idea as to what to buy a child much less a baby. So there stood Esmeralda, by a stall with stuffed animals looking at them with a blank stare as the merchant talked on and on trying to get her to buy something from him. Esme found this whole shopping experience pretty painful, she was totally lost in this sea of children’s toys.

Kavanna decided to take a trip to see her son and father in the Celestial Plane. Upon her trek home, she passed by the different stalls in Astral City just to glance in and see what wares were being sold that day. As usual, the city was bustling with many a Dovaa of varying ages.
It wasn't long before Kavanna had taken eye to a beautiful stuffed animal that she just had to take to her mother-in-law in Serenia. There it sat, a perfect little creation. A bunny-like form with a slender body and long ears and tail, much like her created familiar with the Conjuration spell she had practiced a few weeks prior.
She was determined to buy the little doll, when a younger Dovaa caught her eye. She was no older than her son, Damian, and she was extremely pretty. Maybe this could be her way of trying to set her son up? It could work, right?
The tall Dovaa woman walked over to the girl and and stood next to her, watching her and then looking to see where her eyes went. "Hmmm...I have a question. Which do you think is cuter for a girl about your age?" Kavanna asked the Dovaa, holding up two stuffed animals, one of a bear-like animal and the other of a sea creature.

When the woman spoke next to her, Esmeralda jumped slightly turning towards the other Dovaa woman, eyes going a little wide in surprise. Dear lord, she hadn’t even noticed the woman coming up beside her. “Uhm…” Esmeralda was a little confused by the question; she didn’t think anyone her age would want a stuffed toy. Granted Esme was biased, she’d rather have an empty journal or book than a sword… “I don’t think I’m quite the right person to ask something like that, but I’d say the sea creature.” Esme didn’t really like the bear, and of course she was a Peisio so anything related to the sea or water was her number one choice.
Maybe this older woman would know a thing or two about what to buy babies? “You asked me for advice, well I’ve also got a dilemma on my hands.” She pointed to the stuffed animals with a motion of her hands. “My mother thinks she’s having a baby boy and I’m no expert in giving gifts. What should I buy a baby boy, well my baby brother.” It was odd; she was going to have a brother… The thought was certainly quite the scary one.

Kavanna smiled slyly at the girl as she quickly put the bear-like stuffed creature down and kept the sea creature in her arms. This girl was so pretty, gorgeous ice-blue eyes, long hair, and a beautiful crown of horns. Kavanna was already reminded of her sister-in-law, Melanie, when she laid eyes upon this girl.
"Oh, of course. Hmm...well congratulations on the new baby! I had a baby boy when I was about your age. If I were to do that over again, stop at this stall, at this time and decide what to get him....I'd probably say..." she began, placing her pointer finger on her chin with a look of deep thought upon her face. She looked over the stuffed toys before her, then shifting to the other tables around the store.
"Aha! Perfect!" she said, holding up a small rattle made fully of wood and beads within, wrapped with a brown see-through ribbon tied into a bow.
"This is perfect for babies, the noise seems to interest them and soothe them now and again. My Dom would have loved it." she said with a kind smile, holding out the rattle for the girl.

“Thank you.” Esmeralda smiled at the woman when she congratulated her, however she had to stop herself from letting her jaw drop at what she said after that. She’d had a child at Esme’s age? Wow, the Peisio Dovaa certainly did not see herself having children right now, she wondered if the woman was married. “How old is your son now?” It must have been hard raising a child at that age, unless she’d gotten help from her parents. Esmeralda thought about how her own parents would react if she announced she was pregnant with a child. She ended the thought knowing full well they’d want the death to whoever the father was.
Esmeralda took the rattle from the woman, turning it around and round in her hand to observe it. The wood was carved beautifully, with swirling designs that would surely catch the eye of any child playing with it. Esme shook it gently, listening to the sound of the beads bouncing off the interior wooden walls. The sound might drive her parents a bit crazy after a while, but hey babies were meant to drive you crazy right? “Thanks I think I’ll take it!” She asked the merchant how much it was, paid in gold and bagged the rattle. “What’s your son’s name?”

Kavanna nodded at the girls gratitude. She had placed the sea creature toy down as Esmeralda was paying, as it was just a ruse to get the girl to speak to her.
Noticing the shock on the girl's face made Kavanna smile a bit. "He's just about your age now. An Adept. His name is Damian, a Peisio Dovaa. Lives just outside of the city with my father. I live with my husband in Serenia. However, I still visit often due to my son, father, brothers and other relatives being here. It's very nice here in the Celestial Plane...but Serenia is a beautiful place as well. I believe I was meant to live there forever." she said to the girl.
"Oh, where are my manners!? I'm Kavanna, by the way." she said, holding out a delicate hand to the girl to shake with a bright smile upon her face.

Esmeralda tried not to look too shocked by all the information she was receiving. Usually people didn’t freely admit to being wed to another race, no wonder they lived on the outskirts. Jun thought had been the most adorable Hybrid she’d ever met, and she wondered how a Peisio Hybrid would look like. However, did she dare ask the woman in the middle of the market place such a thing? Probably not, you never knew who could be around trying to catch whispers of gossip. “Serenia is beautiful,” Esme admitted. “I don’t go as often as I would like, but when I do I’m always impressed.”
“I’m Esmeralda; it’s a pleasure to meet you Kavanna.” Esme replied, sticking out her own hand to grab Kavanna’s and shake it gently. “Where you looking for anything in particular in the market place? I could walk with you while we talk, I’m browsing the shops.” Esmeralda was curious about her son, she hadn’t made any friends with any Peisio Dovaa and she wouldn’t mind a conversation with one. Well, she was also curious about Kavanna of course, she wanted to know more.

Tasinei Sorry for the extremely long wait and short post, Tas. I just wanted to end it per your request. At least the two were able to meet, and maybe someday in the future we can have them meet again. :3
"Well, as nice as that sounds, I really should be getting back home. I do wish you the best of luck, Esme, and maybe we will come across each other in the future." she said, a grand smile upon her face. She then gave a slight wave and began to slowly make her way back to her brother's abode.
