She wasn't lurking. Not really. It was more like... standing around, doing nothing. Observing the creeple passing by? Yeah, that sounded better. Not lurking, not being idle, nope - she was creeple-watching, that was it. And it wasn't particularly exciting. Well, it was in the sense that certainly a lot of different creeple had passed by - winged ones, horned ones, ones with too many teeth for their mouth. But that was all pretty standard-fare, and Leo had gotten bored with her creeple-watching pretty quickly. For one thing, no-one did anything exciting, they just passed by and went on with their business. Not the most scintillating of watching material. And it wasn't like she was a regular creeple-watcher or anything - after this boring bout, she wasn't exactly hankering to start being one, either. She sighed, leaning back on the little half-wall she'd placed herself against. Jack it, maybe she should've just taken the mini pets for a walk after all.

Maybe Serafina was a bit of a creeple herself.
Hey, she enjoyed watching other creeple! It gave her something to watch, something to observe, something to listen in to and attempt to learn as quickly as possible. All sorts of faces and names and features and colors and it captivated Serafina much like any of the insectoid monsters to lights; eyes darting around the environment as she mentally took notes on what she was seeing.
She was still a relatively new arrival to Halloween, all things considered, so perhaps her over-nosiness was excusable to some extent, not totally used to what she saw yet... but it had been a few years, but yet the variety of creeple in Halloween never seemed to get old to her, especially in comparison to her as a humanoid-looking ghost--honestly, besides for the surgical mask, she was probably one of the more ... plain looking creeple besides for how fashionable she was.
And oh, she was fashionable.
Sure, there were the boring ones that weren't really doing anything, but even then, the way people walked could tell a lot about them. Those with their heads down who were rushing about likely didn't want to be bothered, and the ones who were walking slower and looking around were probably just as curious as she was. There was even someone she saw walking around with their nose far up in the air, probably a demon from her experience. They all seemed to have such egos about them...
Her eyes caught another who appeared to be watching the crowd, eyes widening in a bit of surprise when their eyes met. Another creeple-watcher? She cocked her head, eyes curious, before offering a small wave.

Ahh bugger, she'd gotten eye-contact with one of the creeple she'd been watching - Leo was just about to turn her head the other way and pretend she'd totally not just gotten caught staring, nope, but then the other ghoul went and waved at her. Which was definitely a friendly gesture, yeah? Fantastic, 'cause she could really use some entertainment right about now, and what was more entertaining than meeting someone new? A friendly smile blooming on her face, Leo made her way over to the stranger-soon-to-be-acquaintance; hopefully, at least. "Hey!" She paused, a bit unsure of how to continue, before giving a mental shrug and going with whatever, "a bit boring around here, isn't it?" Seiana_ZI Not as slow as me, haha ;;; sorry for the wait!

At first, the other ghoul did not seem very pleased about being noticed. She noticed the moment where it looked like the ghoul was going to look the other way, so perhaps it was fortunate she was able to wave and offer a friendly gesture before the other ghoul escaped. It would be nice to communicate with someone else who enjoyed watching creeple like she did.
When the friendly smile appeared on the ghoul's face, Serafina couldn't help her returning one. Smiles were infectious, after all, and the smile offered by her fellow creeple-watcher was of no exception. She stayed where she was, allowing the other to break the distance between them.
"Hello," offered Serafina, politely, before pausing to let the other girl continue. Boring? She looked around, giving a small nod, though she had to admit, even if it was a more boring day, there were still so many things she could tell about each person and it really was fascinating on a day that even appeared to be a bit boring. She licked her lip underneath her surgical mask, before turning her gaze back to the other ghoul.
"It's not outwardly exciting, but it is interesting to pick up what each person is thinking, or even their personality... See, here," Serafina suddenly gestured to a boil behind the other ghoul, one who was far enough away so he probably couldn't hear the murmurs Serafina gave. "He has his head down, with his skellyphone out. Very absorbed in what he's typing, so absorbed he's likely to bump into something. It can be fun to theorize what creeple would be so distracted by, sometimes, or," she gestured to another one, "listen in to conversation when one gets close."
Serafina looked back to the other ghoul. "But I agree, there's nothing terribly interesting going on at the moment. It seems to be mostly people going about their business..."

That was definitely another way to think of it. "That's true," she grinned, "mind you, I was mostly trying to guess their faction and where they were going to, but your way sounds much more fun. And also requiring a lot more observational skills than mine." She'd followed the other ghoul's gaze around, noting the creeple being pointed out, but settled her gaze back on the friendly stranger in the end. "Yep, not exactly a time of day for excitement and adventure, I guess," she shrugged. "I'm Leo, by the way - nice to meet you! So, what are you out here for, then?"

Serafina was rather pleased with the compliment to her observational skills, and it showed in the sparkle in her blue eyes. There might have been a lip-twitch underneath the surgical mask, but it was rather difficult to tell, hidden underneath something that was rarely ever removed.
"I think it is," she replied, genially, leaning back a bit as she glanced around at a few of the people around. "Observational skills aren't hard to learn though! The more time you spend watching people, the more you begin to pick up on." That implied she spent a lot of time just watching people. Perhaps that would be a little unnerving. Serafina coughed to herself, lifting a hand to her surgical mask a bit unnecessarily. Thankfully, the ghoul decided to change the subject before she said anything else worse...
Leo? That was an easy enough name to remember. Offering her hand, Serafina chirped, "Serafina Arai!" Once the offer was taken--or not, if that happened to be the case--she drew the hand back to herself, lowering her brows very slightly at the question as if in thought.
"Well, to be honest, I actually just came out here to watch creeple."
A laugh tumbled from her lips.
"But. Still." Her eyes darted around, taking in the day. It was rather nice out, at least. Pleasant, warm, nothing to complain about from the ghoul's perspective. "It's a nice day and I wanted out of the dorm, too. You?"

"I guess so! I usually kind of just... zone out after a bit. Bad habit of mine, when I get bored." She laughed a bit and scratched absentmindedly at one of her wrists before shaking off her rueful expression. "That's a lovely name! Does it mean anything?" It sounded pretty fancy, so she figured it might. Grabbing Serafina's hand, she gave it a strong, enthusiastic shake before letting go again. "Pretty much the same, honestly. I was bored out of my mind and this seemed better than just sitting around in my dorm, doing nothing. Although sitting around and doing nothing out here wasn't much better." She grinned.

Did Serafina Arai mean anything? That was a good question, really. Did the name mean anything to those who had named her in the human world? She knew what the name, itself, meant, but she had to sometimes wonder of the personal significance. Was she named after someone? She knew that some of the humans put value into names like that, right? Or did they just name at random? To be honest, she wasn't entirely sure...
But she did know what her name meant literally, and she offered a response of, "Oh, it means burning ones. Serafina at least. I think Arai has something to do with new ... dwelling places or something." She shrugged. "It was the name I was born with. I'm not sure if they were meant to go together, but it sounds cool." Serafina gave a playful wink.
She let her hand fall to her side, beating out a pattern against her thigh.
Leaving the room to do something only to do nothing would be kind of boring, wouldn't it? She laughed, glancing around their surroundings again, before turning her attention back to Leo. "Agreed. Do you want to go walk somewhere else?"

"It definitely sounds cool! A lot cooler than Leonora, I'd say. Don't even know what it means, to be honest - and I'm not too sure my parents did either, when they named me," her smile turned a bit wry. "I'm fairly certain my aunt may have badgered them into naming me that, actually." The old hag was certainly the most enthusiastic about the beauty of the name Leonora; how feminine, how traditional it was to the Rytter family! Repeat ad nauseum. Leo grinned at her new acquaintance, "got anywhere particular in mind? Mind you, I'm game; gotta be better than sitting here alone." Giving a little mock bow, she offered her arm to Serafina with a smile and a wink, "gallant is the way to go when taking ghouls on walks, right?"
