Esmeralda was starting to feel like she was spending way too much time in Souldul lately, she always went to the same vendor when she was in town and he was starting to know her orders by heart. She didn’t know if that was a good or bad thing, but it certainly disturbed her that they knew her that well. Esme felt the need to return home, but hide the feeling away. She’d received a letter from her mother recently and the whole thing had been about the baby and how close it was coming. They wanted her to return home for the baby, spend a couple of days with them as a family.

The Peisio Dovaa didn’t know how to feel about it, she wanted to keep doing her studies, but on the other hand spending a month with her family as they waited for the baby would be good for her. Sighing softly, she grabbed her things from the man, paid her dues and left the stand to head back out towards the city before people started taking notice of her presence. She took the traveled road this time, taking her time as she walked so she could think on things. Being at home would also give her time to rewrite some of her studies, organize all her papers and such so that she could clear some space in her office.

Kilian grimaced and rubbed the back of his neck. He could already feel his joints and muscles becoming stiff from the extensive training he'd done that day. He was definitely glad to be done for the day. Amadia nudged his leg with her nose and whimpered. She too had had a long day training. They had gotten some much needed partner training in and they were both tired. We'll go home in a bit. Kilian soothed the Keinling through their bond. He was using it more and more and it was almost second nature to him.

Kilian hadn't liked the thought of becoming bonded to a drakein. He'd fought it hard but his cousin had finally won him over. Rather had forced him into it. The Keinling had been an almost constant companion ever since. He was just now starting to appreciate the bond between the two of them, though.

Kilian was on his way to a vendor before heading home. He needed some ingredients for a special ointment that would help with his muscle pains. Just as he was about to turn onto the road that would lead him to his destination, he caught sight of a Dovaa. He stopped in his tracks and watched the female. He wasn't the only one, others had started to stop, to watch what she was up to.

With her thoughts all in a blur, Esmeralda hadn’t noticed the people who had stopped to look at her. She was pretty much like a beckon of light in the darkness; she wore as much white as an Orderite and was probably quite dressed down compared to everyone else. Which was why she hadn’t noticed one boy starring at her with his Drakein, she walked right into him and it was only then that she realized what was happening. All her things had spilled on the ground, and she’d looked at him in horror. A whole lot more people were watching now, Esme cursed herself silently, and she should have been watching where she was going.

“I’m so terribly sorry; I wasn’t looking where I was going.” Esmeralda almost threw herself to the ground as she began picking up her supplies. Lord knew she didn’t need anyone thinking she had done this on purpose to start some kind of fight. She glanced around her from the corner of her eyes; people were eyeing her with their arms crossed and grim faces. “I hope you’re okay, I really didn’t mean to hit you.” She couldn’t even look at him as she tried to pick up her things as fast as she could so she could be on her way again.

Kilian had looked around at the others for just a moment. In that time the femal Dovaa ran right into him. He stumbled back a bit, having been thrown off balance just a bit. Amadia moved forward, sniffing at a few of the Dovaa's dropped supplies.

"Don't worry about it." Kilian muttered as he watched one of her packages roll near his feet. His gaze traveled back to the Dovaa that was now kneeling on the ground, gathering her things. Amadia whimpered and nudged Kilian's hand. He glanced up and around at the crowd that had gathered. He frowned at all those now staring.

Outsiders were tolerated but it was very easy for them to anger the residents of the city. He gave a few of the Oblivionites some nasty looks, Amadia falling suit and giving a low growl. Kilian bent down and picked up the package that had rolled it's way over to his feet.

"Here." Kilian said as he rose to his full, six foot height. He held the hand holding the package out. "I'm fine. Don't worry about it." Kilian really wasn't like most if his race. Though he was a warrior, he was a kind soul. Get on his bad side, though, and you had an enemy forever.

The growl coming from behind the boy tugged Esmeralda’s attention to it and her speed slowed donw until it stopped as she watched the Drakein. “You’re Bonded.” She said quietly, looking at the Oblivionite helping her pick her things up. This was probably the first Bonded duo she was meeting, she was curious to know more about them. She hadn’t learned much from the only Drakein she’d met, and the little she had was that apparently being Bonded was a terrible thing. From here, it didn’t look so bad, but what did she know right?

After everything was picked up, Esmeralda stood up again. The Oblivionite towered over here, which was a little frightening, but he didn’t seem too bad. He hadn’t thrown a fit and didn’t seem to want to fight. Esme took the package from him, offering a small smile. “Thank you.” She glanced down at the Drakein again. “How does it feel being Bonded?” She just had to ask, there was no toher way she was going to find out.

Kilian glanced back at Amadia as the Dovaa mentioned him being bonded. He rubbed the back of his neck as he frowned. He really wasn't sure the best way to describe what it was like. He'd been so reluctant at first that their bond was still a bit weak.

He glanced back towards the female. "It's....strange." It was the best Kilian could do. "I wasn't exactly cooperative when I first met her." Amadia nudged Kilian's had, able to feel the confusion of her partner. His hand ran over one of her horns absently

"What are you doing around here?" Kilian asked, more of an edge to his voice than he had really meant to show. "You're not exactly trying to blend in. It could be dangerous." He gestured at the few Oblivionites that were still staring at the two of them.

Esmeralda briefly wondered if she should ask him why he hadn’t been cooperative, granted as far as she knew any Oblivionite would rejoice at the fact of being able to be stronger. Recently however, she felt like everything she knew about Oblivionites was in wrong. Esme hadn’t met many of course, and she did see the similarities, but she still saw the individuals. Though it did look like they had sorted whatever had happened out, Esme gave the Drakein a small smile.

His tone of voice made her snap her eyes to him, they narrowed slightly. She should have known better than to trust an Oblivionite to help her with her things. He reminded her quite a bit of Tyrok, and her lips thinned into a straight line as she wondered what she should tell him. After a few moments, she settled on a quick an easy answer. “I’m grabbing some supplies before I head out on an excursion.” Esmeralda had held her tone, she was going to have to be careful until was out from reach. “I know it’s dangerous, but I don’t exactly have any friends who can escort me around when I come into town.” Why was he helping her anyway? “Why are you helping me?”

Kilian watched as the expressions on her face changed. He frowned. Great, he'd upset her. He really hadn't meant to sound so cross. He was tired and sore from the training that day and he had just wanted to get home. It wasn't her fault that she'd dropped her things. If he hadn't of been standing there then she wouldn't have ran into him.

Kilian hadn't met too many Dovaa in his life time. He could distincly remember two from his childhood; Samril and Kavanna. Both had been brief encounters and long ago. So he really didn't have a good idea of how Dovaas acted. So when her last question left her lips, he blinked and looked bewildered. Why had he helped her? "You dropped your things." He gestured to the ground. "My fault, really. I was just standing there in the way." He looked back up at the Dovaa. "Why...wouldn't I help?"

The Dovaa looked at him quietly and blinked a few times, their conversation was turning into one of those weird dreams where you think you know what’s going on but then someone throws a curve ball at you. “Well, I don’t know. I’m a Dovaa and maybe by helping me right now you’re helping me get some super-secret information back to Astral city and this information is what will make us maybe destroy your kind? It was probably not the smartest thing Esmeralda could have said, but why would you help the enemy? But if he wanted to help her, then she may as well let him be and not antagonize him further.

“Sorry, I’m slightly on edge,” Esme picked up the reminder of her things and straightened herself out. “What I meant to say is that usually the Oblivionite aren’t so quick to help those who aren’t on the same side as them.” That sounded much better than what she’d previously told him, thank Abronaxsus.

Kilian frowned. The same side as him? As of right now, Kilian wasn't on either side. He had never been one for the war. He was neither for it nor against it. One of his closest friends was a hybrid. And neither side of her was Oblivionite. He sighed and shrugged, not really wanting to voice any response to that for fear of being over heard by someone that would report him. "I have my reasons, I suppose."

He narrowed her eyes at her. "Or maybe I'm just helping you to make you feel at ease?" He straightened up to his full height. "Maybe I should just take you back to my leader?" The light in his eyes and the soft tone he used showed that he was teasing the Dovaa. He'd never hand her over to Draco. He shuddered with the memories of when he had visited the leader of the Oblivionites. That was not a pleasant man to be around.

His response to her made her quirk her brow at him, he had his reasons? Did this mean that he was acquainted with someone that was perhaps not Oblivionite? That was certainly interesting; maybe he was in the same boat as Ekundayo. It would certainly be nice to meet someone else like Eku, made relations between races seem less tense and much less threatening. Then again she could have been completely wrong and he was throwing her off track. Or Esmeralda was simply over thinking the whole situation; the Dovaa dropped it right away. He had not given her any indication as to being suspicious of him.

Esmerala actually paled at what he said, the Oblivionite leader was not a pleasant man to be around and his reputation followed him like the pest. “You can’t…” Her eyes went wide, could she run? Maybe. “I’m a civilian, and you can’t harm a civilian.” Abronaxsus only knew what they’d do to her… Esme thanked the sky for being a scholar, being a battler would certainly have brought on more trouble than any good. Then she narrowed her eyes at him, and Esme felt like smacking him. “You’re teasing me, what is it with you Oblivionites and this humor I’ve encountered from you?” She could not believe she’d walked right into that one.

Kilian stifled a laugh at her reaction. He shook his head and leaned in close, so he could whisper. "I would never take you to Draco." He frowned and pulled back as another Oblivionite walked past them, staring. Kilian cleared his throat and moved his head in the direction out of the market. "Ah. I'm Kilian, by the way." As he moved to put some distance between them he gave her a once over.

So you're a civilian, huh?" KIlian asked her as his gaze swept the market. He really was uncomfortable standing here, out in the open. If one of Draco's henchmen saw him talking to a Dovaa... Well, he didn't want to even worry about that. "Lets walk. Too many eyes and ears around here." He finally said as he started to walk, not even waiting for her to respond to either things he'd said.

The Dovaa almost felt like jerking back when the Oblivionite moved in closer; however she simply stiffened from the presence in her bubble and tilted her head slightly at what he had to say. Her own eyes moved to the man who had walked past them staring, she stared right back at him until he withdrew his gaze. “Esmeralda.” Shifting the weight of her things, she managed to offer him her free hand to offer him a proper greeting. “Nice to meet you Kilian.” Another Oblivionite that confused the heck out of her, maybe all the dark and evil stuff was simply a cover for them.

“Indeed I am!” Esmeralda decided to beam at him with a smile. “I am a scholar and I study dragons.” The Dovaa frowned as he began moving away, she sped up to meet up with him. “I wish I could stay and chat, I really do since I’m getting interested in that humor. But I need to get back to my research.” And with that she skipped ahead of him only to turn around and walk backwards. “Maybe we’ll meet up one day again, hard to forget someone like you. Goodbye Kilian.” And with that she’d turned around and woven into the flow of the crowd.
