On occasion the Order of the Onyx would gain new novices outside of the regular cycle. These members were of varying ages and skills levels based on who they had been and what sort of life they were living before being recruited into the Order. Adrastea was one such novice and Akilae had been assigned to give his new fellow Fang a proper tour of the compound.
He had not yet met the young woman whom he had been told was also an adept. He knew only her name and that he was to meet her outside of her newly assigned living quarters after breakfast this morning. Curious about this new recruit and eager to make a good impression, Akilae lengthened his strong and hurried towards the address within the compound he had been given.

Adrastea had only been initiated as a new Fang within the Order a day or two prior to this set up. She was to meet with a fellow Fang and take a tour of the compound. All the nerves in her body tinged with excitement, adrenaline, and fear. After all, she was infringing upon an enemies territory. Anything that she said could possibly be taken the wrong way. She was to never let on her real identity, for she would probably be assassinated on sight.
Adrastea didn't mind the fear, for she used it to her advantage. She took her fear out on her training, and today she would be doing a lot of it. She was awaiting the arrival of her fellow Fang, putting her fine hair down and brushing it out to the ends. She had to make a good impression after all, for she didn't want any suspicion to arise from her fellow Order-mates.
The Oblivionite finished readying herself and went outside to await the one who was to take her around. She kept her bow upon her back with a quiver of arrows at her disposal, at least that way she would be able to protect herself in case something did go wrong. She leaned up against the closed door and awaited his arrival.
As he came hurrying about, she had her initial thoughts. 'W-what!? He's a Hybrid!? What kind of organization are they running here!? Ugh, what a disgrace to the Oblivionite race. When I'm the leader of the Oblivionites, there will be no tolerance for Hybrids of any kind. Tck, I cannot believe I have to stay with him all day.' she thought to herself as she watched him walk up.
"I'm Adrastea and you're late." she said with a heavy, annoyed sigh. If she wasn't able to talk down to him for fear of death, than the least she could do was give him a hard time.
"Shall we get on with it?" she said, walking a few paces away from the Hybrid. She was fully prepared to make a good impression, but he, being a Hybrid and being the same rank as her, just didn't sit well within her mind. She almost felt disgraced being set up with him. Of all the Oblivionites within the compound of the Order, why was she forced to stay with a Hybrid? Could they not spare a pureblood for the day? Oh, how this was already turning out to be a disaster.

She was quite pretty, this Adrastea, Akilae noted as he approached her. Her hair was a rich red colour ,a shade of scarlett or crimson. To be able to see in colour at this age allowed him to better appreciate things like that he felt. Red hair suited her, although personally he felt she could look better if it was longer and more swishy. There was a scar across one of her eyes but it did not, in his mind, detract from her overall beauty. She was tall and thin but strong looking, not some willowy civilian with a lovely body and no idea how to wield it as a weapon. Yes, overall Akilae found Adrastea to be quite pretty
Naturally as he was silently complimenting her the girl had to open her mouth and be rude. It was not the best start to the day and Akilae had a feeling Adrastea was going to be difficult to work with. He was not used to those who kept their distance from him either, at least not inside the compound's walls. In a population as big as the Order of the Onyx there were those he disagreed with and those who were non too pleased with his mixed blood but they were few in number and inconsequential to his status and progress. The young man would prefer not to have to add Adrastea to that number
Perhaps her views from the outside could be changed. After all they were both here for the same reason, to see the Oblivionites win the war and rule the other races in Soudana's name. They also both favoured the bow and the role of assassin within the fangs. Akilae would do his best to see Adrastea see reason, that the things they held in common were more important than that his blood lacked the purity of her own.

Adrastea glanced over her shoulder at the boy who was supposed to be a tour guide. No response? Not a word came forth from his mouth as she walked away. Did he expect her to actually be nice to him? Another heavy sigh was emitted from her mouth as she stopped, back to the boy.
"The least you could do is show some common courtesy and tell me your name. After all, I told you mine, it's only fair for me to receive the same in return, no?" she said as she slowly turned around to face him.
"Are you just going to stare at me or can we get on with our day?" she said, crossing her arms and tapping the fingers on her bicep for a few moments.
If she had eyes, she would have rolled them at that moment. Adra turned around and began her trek very slowly, allowing the boy to catch up if he so desired. She had no problem leaving him if he decided it wasn't worth it, for she would just find someone else to show her around the compound. After all, there had to be other people assigned to the same duty, right?
The female Oblivionite stood there awaiting the boy's response. She wouldn't ever give a second thought to a Hybrid. She almost hated them with a passion, being abominations to the community. She couldn't believe something like the Order (who swore to worship Soudana) would allow Hybrids within the community. They were poisonous, not worth the time of day, and such a total disgrace to the Oblivionite name. Adra's blood began to boil within her. Just thinking about such a deed with anyone other than an Oblivionite was unimaginable.

"I was informed of your name earlier, whomever told you to wait for me today should have done the same," Akilae replied coolly. He would try and win this girl over but he would not be taking any s**t from her in the process. He regarded her highly as a pureblood and another member of the order but there was a limit to what he would and had to tolerate. "I'm Akilae or occasionally Aki." Adra didn't seem like the type to use short forms, though. At this rate he wouldn't be surprised if they never spoke after today if she had her way.
Swiftly he made his way to the unhappy female's side. "The tour should only take about an hour, all the essential buildings are clustered together and everything else is either only for people with special privileges or land used for farming in some capacity." Aki would be more than happy to find her someone else to take over tour duty if she walked to traipse through acres of beast dung ridden fields just to get a better feel for the scope of the size of the compound. He had no intention of getting filthy if he wasn't absolutely required to.

Adrastea shot a glaring look towards her tour guide. She had just been told to wait for the arrival of a young Adept. Or maybe she hadn't cared to listen to them much passed that to find anything else out. Though one thing about this Hybrid stood out to her. Even though she was utterly appalled that she had to be with him, and even after receiving a hard time from her, he still treated her with a descent amount of respect. That was surprising. She loved to rile people up against her but this time was different. This hybrid had been able to keep his cool. She still detested the thought of a Hybrid and wouldn't ever think to befriend one fully. But...one thing was for certain. She needed to keep her composure and stay until the deeds were done. Infiltration was just the first step. Now she needed to be the newest Draco informant.
She remained silent until he spoke of the tour taking only but an hour.
"Good. I may actually be able to survive an hour with you, Akilae." she snickered, picking up the pace a bit.
"So, tell me something, Akilae, what exactly is this place all about?" she asked curiously.

Akilae shrugged at the question "I'm not sure I can tell you anything the your recruiter didn't. The order of the onyx exists to make sure the oblivionites win the war, even if we don't play by the rules all the time." War was complicated and messy with all sorts of precepts that determined how it could and could not be waged. The Order of the onyx has it;s own way of going about things as they answered only to themselves these days.
" We seek to use our single lifetimes to ensure that one day the firstborn rule over magesc." He was regurgitating fairly well known knowledge but Andra has asked and it would take a few minute to get out of the housing district and see something interesting. " The council doesn't feel it necessary that the other races be wiped out just made to serve us. There will be changes in how the world is run and everyone will have their place." he continued, a small smile upon his face and a dangerous gleam in his dark green eyes. Akilae truly lived for the people he had been raised by.
"There will be a new hierarchy amongst the races and our people, one that will benefit everyone and even often some redemption for others when all is said and done."
He lifted a scaled hand and pointed to where a group of mothers were escorting their children off down a sidestreet. "We're still normal people though, there's families here and people go to school, work , make friends and fall in love just like anywhere else." He turned his head to look seriously at Adrastea. "I guess the best way to describe the order is as a very dedicated community, one which you became part of after careful selection and vetting." Again he offered a friendly smile. See, they were part of the same group of very special people.

Adrastea nodded her head at the comments by the boy and continued to walk. She was interested in how this community worked, after all, she might as well make the best of the current situation she was stuck in.
When it came down to it, she still wasn't sure what they were going to do about the leader. New hierarchy? Redemption amongst the races? Now that was something that she didn't like the sound of. She wanted there to be no other races. Period. She wanted Oblivionites to rule, just like her grandfather and Soudana.
"Interesting." was the sole thing she said before going silent for a few moments, listening to the boy go off about how these people were still just normal people like everyone else. Well, that definitely seemed to be true.
"I have a question for you, Akilae." she stated, clearing her throat.
"So the Order just wants Oblivionites to rule, not totally wipe out the other races altogether? Because it is Soudana that wishes the other races be completely obliterated. Your 'council' doesn't seem to know the way the world is to work. Oblivionites should be the sole race upon the Magescian lands..." she began, "...but, having the other races enslaved to us seems a bit more pleasing to my ears. Hmm, maybe the Order isn't so bad. I may like it here." she finished.
Adrastea looked back at Akilae and smirked. "Maybe one day we can enslave them all just to do our dirty work, heheh!" she said aloud, chuckling at the end. She did enjoy the thought of slaves working for her. That would be a lot better since she could boss them around every chance she got as the new leader of the Oblivionites.

"The council feels Soundana's will is being misrepresented by the current leadership," Akilae pointed out as he continued to walk forward. "Even if they are wrong there is always room for a change of plans that better benefits the people." After all when the other races were enslaved then no oblivionite would be forced to do a menial task they did not care to. They shouldn't lose the ability to do such tasks but they could focus on other pursuits and elevate themselves higher than ever before. Surely Soudana would approve of such initiative being taken by the people she had created.
"I do hope you grow to like it here, leaving the Order of the Onyx is usually done as vial of dust," he warned. She would already know this but it never hurt to reinforce things.
Akilae slowed for a second and pointed towards a large round building that seemed to have a pulsating glow about it. " That's the sigil's facility, they have classrooms in there for sigil specific stuff, work rooms and a bunch of other stuff. Or that's what Sarga has told me anyways, I've never been inside." He had no business in there and no real inclination to investigate. " Sometimes things explode, or the building appears to disappear, don't worry though no one has ever died."
At least not in his memory anyways. While most sigils did practice more mundane and practical magical things the older and more privileged of them did tend to experiment and while said experiments often produced useful new magic is also came at the cost of some destruction or weird sights on the behalf of passers by.

"Misrepresented by the current leadership? Are you talking about Draco Verrano?" she questioned. So if the Order felt that Draco was misinterpreting Soudana's wishes maybe they were planning to take over the leadership for themselves and appoint a different leader in his place? It was a thought that hadn't occurred to her, but it was something she could see the Order being apart of. Her sockets narrowed slightly as she began to think of herself ruling one day, though she didn't necessarily like the thought of the Order coming after her either.
A vial of dust? So, once you joined the Order, you weren't able to leave freely without penalty of death. Adrastea raised a brow and stayed silent, but nodded at the acknowledgement that she wouldn't be leaving whatsoever.
The Oblivionite continued after the Hybrid and listened to what he had to say about the different facilities and buildings that made up the Order's stronghold. She took note of what they did at each facility. Disappearing and exploding buildings didn't always sound like a good thing, but nevertheless, they were planning and plotting something huge in there. One day she would infiltrate and check it out.
"Where to next?" she asked curiously. She wasn't so filled with hatred anymore like she was at the beginning. Now she was more filled with an unstoppable curiosity that wouldn't be quenched easily.

" We'll head to the Fang's training facility and I'll show you around in there before we cover the stuff that lies a bit further out." Akilae replied, dropping the focus on Draco veranno for now. It was hard for him, who had never met the man, to explain how he needed to be replaced for the betterment of everyone. Plus Adrastea came from the outside where Draco seemed fairly beloved by those who did not know better. Aki would prefer not to fight with her again so soon. They soon walked past a rather nondescript building which he noted was the headquarters of the Onyx eyes. It was enterable only by there members and even then your rank and specialty skills determined where exactly withing the building you could go according to Aurigan. Of course when pressed for further details or information of what he was allowed acess to Akilae's friend only laughed and changed the subject. This left Aki with little he could really tell Adra about the eyes although they seemed to like it that way. He did note that his father was one but that he was equally secretive about his work. Eventually the pair came across the Fang's facility. It was a large octagonal building with a fair bit of open land surrounding it, upon which was all sorts of equipment for climbing, knife throwing, strength training and even a small track. " We do have a gymnasium inside" Akilae assured Adra; " but they often like us to train in all sorts of weather and the inside stuff tends to be more close quarters combat drills and stuff like that."

Adrastea was not pleased that the Hybrid had totally ignored her questioning of Draco's leadership. That type of information would have been perfect to get for her next meeting with the adviser. Maybe she would bring the subject back up at a later time, for now, she figured leaving it alone would be the best course of action.
The walk was fairly silent until they passed a building which was noted to be the headquarters of the Onyx Eyes. Nothing was really said passed that point; and the two left for another rather silent walk towards the Fang's facility.
"Hmm...okay, well that's good to know. I think weather training would be better for the person all around anyway; with it making the person think about how to use the environment to their advantage. Smart idea." she commented before continuing quickly, "Where to next?" she finished, looked from the octagon-shaped building to the Hybrid guide.

"Now I'll show you around inside our headquarters quickly, there's only a few rooms you'll probably be using at first but it's good to know what's where for when you get sent on errands." The higher ranked fangs didn't tend to force the novices to do menial things but sometimes they needed to deliver messages to multiple people at once or someone injured coming in from a patrol needed you to deliver something while they were cared for. "It won't take very long though, there's the gym, the classrooms, a bunch of meeting rooms and then some private offices." Aki's time was spent mainly in the gym and the classrooms. Even as he aged and gained rank there would be new things to learn and discuss. Plus one's training was never really complete.

Adra followed behind the Hybrid as he walked and showed her the different rooms. Only paying attention for the sole purpose that, one day, she would end up reporting back to her grandfather's assistant about the Order and giving them any and all information they wanted. Infiltration needed to occur.
The Oblivionite was still very wary of this Hybrid, as she was with all of them. She still found them to be disgusting, as she knew that only the pure blooded Oblivionites would ever make Soudul the place it was meant to be. "How much longer is this tour?" she asked rudely, crossing her arms. It seemed to be taking a lot longer than she initially thought it would take. She couldn't wait for it to be over.ladyumbra Tag! :3 Adra is a little b***h sometimes. xD

Akilae resisted the urge to hit Adra, instead he glared at her, the bright green soulspark in his eyes flaring brighter for a moment. " We are done, I imagine you are capable of figuring out where the archery range, stables, rookery and other outdoor facilities are by yourself. If not you can surely charm someone else into showing you." As he spoke the young man gestured towards a nearby doorway leading out of the building. Aki worked hard to make good impressions on people and he could be stubborn as a dragon about winning the friends he wanted. This girl , his new fellow fang would not be won easily though and his patience this day was running out. Let her her be rude, he thought, he would show her day by day his prowess as fang and a member of the order and she would learn to respect him. Perhaps he'd even bestow kindness on her on occasion until she was swayed into the fold of those whom he counted as friends and true allies. Yes, it was best to accept defeat today and not lose his temper than risk making an enemy of this newcomer who might yet prove useful to the order and himself. (adra is precious, aki is a stubborn sneaky bugger)
