Cole gulped as he came backstage. While most people backstage handled lights and other things, Cole was sort of an all around kind of person. He would go anywhere he was needed, and unfortunately he was needed in the animal area to calm them down and feed them before there next act. No one wanted to tame a hungry lion. He pushed the large cart full of food between the many cages, feeding each animal carefully. It was going surprisingly smooth for some time, that was until he got to the elephants. The two elephants were easily the most loving towards him, and that wasn't exactly a great thing. As Cole set the elephants large amount of food down in the correct area one of them used there trunk to grab his arm and pulled him between the bars. Then the two elephants played a game with him that they always loved to do. They each took one of his arms by there trunks and held him in-between them before they moved against each other so they were touching, smushing Cole in-between so that only his head poked out at the top. He struggled, knowing that he still had a job to complete. "..I..can't...do this right now!" He said just before one of the elephants wrapped its trunk around his head, as if trying to smother him.
"...That's...not my fault...."

Kasper was getting ready for his act when he decided to go backstage. Why not? Maybe he could help or something. After all, there was one more act before he would have to go on. And if he was late, then too bad. Walking backstage, Kasper noticed that a boy was struggling to break free from the elephants' grasp. He chuckled at the sight of this as he walked over to the elephants. "My, my. What a troublesome situation..." He mumbled, not really caring if the boy heard him or not. "Oi! Kid! You need help?" Kasper asked in an almost teasing manner.

Cole barely heard the boy tease him and tried to glare through the elephants trunk. He sighed and bit the trunk, which caused the elephant to release his head and swing to the side so Cole could fall to the floor. He quickly ducked as the elephant slammed back into the other one, almost crushing him. "I don't need help!" He said just before the elephants grabbed him again as they laid down, holding him like a teddy bear. "I told you two I can't do this right now!"

"Alright then." Kasper said as he watched the boy almost get out of the situation. He couldn't help but chuckle when he saw the elephants got ahold of him again. The boy said that he didn't need any help... So, then, he wouldn't help. But, after a while, he grew tired of watching him struggle... "You sure you don't need my help? Those elephants look like they won't give up on you..."

Cole struggled a bit more sighing as the other elephant began to stroke his hair. "...Please help..." He said reluctantly, not wanting to admit that he needed it. It was bad enough he couldn't work well, let alone control a few animals.

Kasper grinned hearing that the boy finally admitted to needing help. "Gladly." He said before whistling to get the elephants' attention. One of the elephants came over while the other stayed by the boy. Such a stubborn creature... He thought. Kasper looked around backstage and spotted a life-size puppet somewhere in the corner. Now, that would come in handy...
Kasper, being the very talented puppeteer that he is, took control of the puppet without strings. He sent it practically flying through the bars. And it grabbed Cole, gripped onto him tightly and came right to the bars of the cage. "Just climb through."

Cole quickly climbed through the bars and backed away from the cage. "...Thank you...um...whats your act?" He asked, a little set off by the giant puppet. Not everyone knew how to use one so well and it was, offsetting to say the least.

Kasper looked at the boy blankly, looking like he honestly couldn't care less about a lot of things. "Don't mention it." He said, holding his hand up in such a way that he could look at his own fingernails. "Puppeteer." He didn't even bother to look up at him until a second or two later. "With a bit of a twist... but that's a surprise." Kasper added with a sly grin. "Anyhow, enough about me. What's your name?" He shoved his hands in his pockets as he asked, now curious about the boy standing in front of him.

"Stagehand, huh?" He repeated, still wearing the same grin. It suits him... He thought. See, Kasper liked to compare the people to their acts. Most of the time, you can just take one look at person and immediately tell what their act is or would be. "Well," He took off his hat, "I'm Kasper; Kasper Chauncey Kai th--" He stopped himself there. He was so used to adding his title to his name: 'The Keeper of the Secrets.' The exact reason why he came to this school was to escape that title... "You can just call me Kasper though." He put his hat back on his head, fiddling with it for a minute.

After he was finally done messing with his hat, Kasper shook his head. "No, not as far as I'm concerned." He said, not even realizing that Cole had just called him "Kassy". Of course, as he played the sentence over in his head, he began to realize that he was just called by the nickname that he so hated. "And don't you ever call me Kassy again." He gave a Cole a grim look to indicate that he was dead-serious. "I don't know of a single soul who would ever call me that." He crossed his arms and looked away from Cole, leaning against the cage as well. "Besides, it's not something you'd want to call a Keeper." He mumbled, hoping that he wasn't heard.

Cole sighed and looked away. "..S-sorry... w-wait..." He said, looking back at the guy. Keeper? What the heck was a keeper? "....Whats a keeper?" He asked, curiously, hoping to get an answer relatively soon. Then he felt the elephants trunk wrap around his arm and he gulped. He held onto the bar and waited for an answer.

Kasper sighed in slight frustration. Of course he had heard his mumbling! It was just his luck... "The Keeper of the Secrets." He said, noticing the elephant's trunk around Cole's arm. "Why don't we move?" He asked. Without even waiting for an answer, he shooed the elephant away and pulled Cole a little farther away from the cage. "Anyway, I'm a Keeper of the Secrets... I know it sounds stupid but it's fact. Keepers pass down knowledge that has been turned into either folklore or myth. Most of those things are true, you know." He paused, letting the general idea sink in. "But I'm not a fortune teller, if that's what your thinking. I can't see the future." Kasper took off his hat and began to fiddle with it, flipping it into the air and catching it a couple of times.
