When the drugs wore off and the desire to sleep for hours on end, Melvin was left being bored. Not only that, but he was unable to move around without feeling a fresh wave of pain. Laying there gave him a lot of time to think, and after a while he delicately reached over for his phone and then, easing back into his pillow, started to text. Baneful Text to: RepI guess I should be glad you don't hit below the belt.

Rep had been worried as hell about Melvin since the guy got hospitalised, but there had been absolutely no chance to visit. Firstly because he was banned from the infirmary. Secondly because he was stuck in the ******** Arctic.
He was busy hammering boards over a hole in one of the walls when his phone buzzed, and retreiving his phone, he smiled. At least texting was a damn good sign the other man was feeling better, and probably not bitter enough to cut him off forever.
To Melvin Sorry man. I didn't think your shield would break and s**t. sad

Baneful Text to: RepNeither did I. Should have called it off when I felt tired. Lesson learned. Melvin breathed out, rubbing over the bandages around his midsection. Usually he wouldn't let Rep slide when it came to injuries, but thsi time Melvin had asked Rep to help him and should have been more aware of his own shield. Baneful Text to: RepHope you're not nude on some cliff over it. Melvin sent the message and then leaned back on his pillow. It was boring here, and he hated not having anyone to talk to when he didn't have work to distract him. Maybe he could get Rin to bring his tablet over.

To Melvin No s**t man. I had no idea, you looked like you could go another fifty ******** rounds. You still did good.
At his follow up though Rep laughed out loud.
To Melvin Naw, I wish. I'm in the Arctic trying to board up holes to keep draughts out of this shitehole of a base. I'm no allowed to be on island while Sasha's there.
Still there was a certain amount of pride in what he'd achieved so far. He'd scrubbed up the main few useable rooms in the headquarters and even got a few terminals running. It was livably warm too. The place he was boarding up now had to have been some kind of cafeteria when it was in use, he felt it was probably a priority.

Baneful Text to: RepSasha is on the island? Maybe I should make her take care of my minipets then. Part of him considered the fact that alerting Sasha that he was injured was not wise, but what better way to see if she was true about only giving her murderous attentions to Rep then to tell her he was in the Infirmary. Unlike Rep, Melvin didn't sign off to the same rules that Sasha and the ex-Sun played.
pinchmonster Text to:SashaBack on the island? Could you pay back a favor and tend to my minipets while I'm recovering? He sent it off before returning to Rep. Baneful Text to: RepWhen you get back and I'm back up and running, we should try that again. I'll ask someone to supervise this time just in case. OK?

Sasha really hadn't accomplished much of anything since her return to the island. It was difficult to find an interest or any motivation to leave her dorm room, let alone work on her projects. Melvin's text was read and re-read five or six times before she finally responded. MoonKitsune Text to: MelvinRecovering? I'll look after them. She did owe him a favor, and she was lucky that he'd asked for something easy to do. It wasn't as if anyone could attack her in the labs - she'd be safe there.

To Melvin Supervisor? Like who? I dunno how I feel being herded around like a kid.
He shouldn't need someone to keep an eye on him because he couldn't control his own strength.

Melvin had no problem telling Sasha what had happened. Sparring accidents were a common place occurrence and one that wasn't unusual for anyone. With a prompt note, he sent her a response.
pinchmonster Text to:SashaSparring accident. Thanks. Melvin then read Rep's note and smiled. The Lifer was just as much against someone dictating how they fought, but seeing as Melvin couldn't predict how hard a punch might hit, he wanted to learn from his mistake and keep someone on standby. At least till he was sure his ribs were very healed. After one or two more spars, he'd probably drop any supervision to continue his lessons. Baneful Text to: RepSupervison as a Life trainee or Harrison. Not someone to tell us what to do.

To Melvin Ace I'm good with. I don't want techs watching me fight. I wish I could use Tracey but given how that last fight went probably a ******** good thing I can't. But aye, I'm fine with supervision as long as they keep out of it.
