TODAY WAS THE BEST DAY OF HER WHOLE LIFE!!
Even better than that one day she found that chicken bone on the floor and the ten minute rule still applied! That was one hard day to top!
Though this was simultaneously the scariest day of her life, too. Helmut had never been this far from home before, and she was far from her Northern home, never mind being this far from home by herself. She got to choose her own clothing, make her own schedule (so long as it didn't conflict with school), and she could even refuse to make her bed if she so desired! Life was fantastic just as much as it was frightening.
The little Wendigo had laid claim to her room by throwing her things everywhere and in no particular order (her bed was now a mound of clean, recently unfolded clothing!), and now was out and about, trying to figure out where the important things were. Like the Creeperteria.
Being new and unsure of the area, Helmut stuck to the walls, turning the skull on her head sideways to avoid smashing poor Uncle Carl's antlers against the lockers. In her tiny hands she held a map, scrutinizing it as she went.

Helmut was probably going to be re-thinking that thought…
Hel was moving down the hall in her usual steady and confident stride, just having gotten out of a class (it was amazing she even attended any anymore). The ghoul was off in her own little world, her lips pulled into a thin line as she stared in nothing in particular, moving on auto-pilot…until something had the audacity to poke her cheek. Hel’s reaction was immediate. She grabbed the offending item (which happened to be the horn of Helmut’s antlered skull) and spun it around.
“Watch it!” She snapped.

"Ack!" Helmut yelped when suddenly, through no fault of her own, she was blinded. In the following panic her map was dropped and her tiny little claws came up to try and right the skull on her head, unfortunately smacking Hel a second time. The Wendigo didn't seem to notice though, and instead set to find a way to see through Uncle Carl's eye socket to peer up at the creature she had hit. When she laid eyes on the ghoul, her own droopy set grew wide, her mouth opening into a too-wide smile showing missing (or knocked out) fangs.
...!
"Hel-the-Reaper!" HAPPIEST DAY EVER! Helmut's hands were in the air, toddling over towards the heat source known as Hel for a hug.

Hel was less than pleased as that antler smacked her again, and she was about to clobber the stupid little kid in the head until she…called out her name.
“…Wha…” Hel blanched, and stared at the ghoul who had her hands in the air and was coming closer. Wait…wait…that voice…those hands…that stride towards her for heat. A leg immediately shot up, and Hel placed her foot on the ghoul’s stomach once she was close enough…to…oh you know, keep her body heat. Also, she was wearing her boots this time, so she felt that her ankles were…safe enough.
“What the Jack are you going here?” She almost didn’t recognize her…but yeah…student pins for monsters and what not.

The foot on her stomach didn't seem to phase her. Confused her for a second because hey...why did she stop? But it didn't really phase her. She only grinned wider, bending at the middle to hug Hel's Leg, nuzzling a grey cheek into the harsh boot.
"It's my first day!" She announced, nuzzling the captured leg and chittering happily. "So I'm looking for the creepateria!"

As soon as Helmut started rubbing on her boot, Hel grimaced and tried shaking her off. “Your first--….WHAT?” Hel groaned then. “You are enrolled here!?” She cried. Wasn’t this established before? Maybe before Hel was hoping it was just some horrible joke…but it wasn’t.
What a pest.
“Get off my leg! You are not getting to the creeperteria by being attached to it!”

"My first day!" Helmut repeated helpfully, squeezing the captured leg tighter. "I am! Mama and Papa thought it would be a good idea and enrolled me!" The ghoul continued to chitter, only stopping and letting the poor Reaper go when a thought occurred. Droopy eyes stared up at Hel with a wide sort of hopeful awe.
"...You're going to take me to the creeperteria?!" Helmut's clasped claws tucked under her chin, leaning forward in a very childish please let this be true!

Hel groaned again, and shook her leg harder in an attempt to shake the ghoul off. She was seriously considering stuffing the ghoul into a box and shipping her back to the great white North…but damn, postage for that was ridiculous! Hel could spend her seeds on better things…
Like jerky…and house magazines…and…wedding magazines.
Cough.
Hel put her leg down once it was released, shaking it a bit to get the warmth back going in it. “Uh, NO!” Hel snapped. “No, I am not showing you to the creeperteria! Did I say I was?” It was rhetorical. “Now get lost, Mut!” She flicked the ghoul's nose then.

All at once Helmut seemed to droop sadly, staring up at Hel from under the brim of her skull-helmet to make her look as pathetic as she could.
And then her stomach grumbled.

Aww…that was so sad…
Hel reached up slapped the skull, spinning it around her head again. That’s what she did to cute things. She beat them even more. The reaper made a face though as the little ghoul’s stomach grumbled, and without another word, she grabbed the antler of the spun-skull and started to drag Helmut down the hall.

Helmut yelped in distress as Uncle Carl's skull went spinning around her head, her tiny hands reaching up to stop it, but only a little bit too late. Hel had her borrowed antler and was dragging her away at a pace she had to scramble to keep up with. In the chaos though, she realized they were going in the direction she had been going in already, a thought that made her beam.
"So we ARE going to the creepateria?"

“We?” Hel echoed snidely. “There is no we, unless you have a mouse in your pocket. You are going to the creeperteria!” Hel was hoping if she led the little monster to where she needed to be…she wouldn’t follow her, like she often would when she went to go look at properties during her stay at her family’s bed and breakfast.
She wasn’t doing this to be nice. No.

...
Helmut checked her pockets, just to be sure.
"Um...It's just me." She corrected herself meekly, tapping the ends of her tiny index fingers together and missing, only because she was used to much longer claws. "You're not going to eat with me?" The little Wendigo asked, her sad little voice full of hope that the older ghoul would join her. She missed her igloo buddy! Plus, Hel was warm and Helmut liked warm things.

Hel snorted as Helmut did check her pockets, and then assured herself. “Ya. Obviously.” She replied, still tugging on the horn of the skull helmet. “No.” The reaper replied flatly. “I am not going to eat with you. You are going to the creeperteria, and I am going off to do much more important things.” Like…what exactly? Let’s be real…Hel didn’t really have anything to do…aside from pine and look at magazines. Helmut didn’t need to know that, though. Upon reaching a wide set of double doors, Hel yanked the helmet forward, pulling the little Wendigo right on up to the doors before she let her go. “There. Now get in there and get lost.”

Helmut stumbled a bit when she was shoved towards the door, catching herself before she fell over...but just barely. The horns on her helmet clattered noisily against the door and wall, but otherwise managed to remain on and the ghoul standing.
Her droopy eyes widened, her brow pinching together unhappily at the outburst from the Reaper. "But Heeeeeel~" The ghoul whined, toddling forward with arms raised, closing the distance between them in the most pathetic way possible. "I don't know what's good here! I don't wanna get lost! Stayyyyy....?" She chittered hopefully, managing to grab one of Hel's arms to cling to it, nuzzling her cold cheek into the warmer flesh.
