There was a dim light at the end of the tunnel the boy managed to enter about half an hour ago. He'd been walking through the cave for some time now, hours by the looks of it, but that light was orange-ish and not quite as bright as the sun he'd remembered from earlier that afternoon. Ainsley was thankful for another way out, and he'd accept whatever location he was in and make his way to camp on his own, so he hurried toward it. Unfortunately, another Bognotti decided to get in his way. It seemed quite upset, perhaps because of the loss of its "family" members at the hands of the blonde Orderite; whatever the case, it seemed ready to kill Ainsley - though the boy doubted it would be able to at all.
It attacked within a moment's notice, but Ainsley reacted well enough and was able to dodge it easily, even managing to give it a good kick before readying his axe.
"Come at me! Come on!" the boy taunted, tired and wanting nothing more than to have his dinner and go to bed. The spider didn't take the taunts too kindly; it screeched and readied itself again before crawling up the walls and attempting to drop down onto the boy. Surprisingly, it somewhat succeeded. The tunnel was just narrow enough to make a sort of escape from that attack almost impossible, so as Ainsley tried to tumble away the spider landed just atop his legs. Its fangs were quite noticeable in the dim light coming from the tunnel's end - his torch had been knocked as the spider landed on him, though he was gripping onto his axe for dear life.
The creature sunk its fangs into Ainsley's shoulder, narrowly missing his head as he managed to dodge the coming attack just in time. The boy cried out in pain once again, feeling his blood slowly begin to drip out from the openings on his shoulder, but he wasn't finished yet. With a last bit of strength he swung his axe upward and into the spider's stomach area, eliciting the loudest, most painful cry from the creatures he'd heard yet. The Bognotti hurried off of him and began to writhe about in pain, though the boy wasn't sure why. He hurried onto his feet though, and quickly finished off the creature before it had a chance to recover. His axe was dripping with Bognotti's blood by the time he was through, and he limped out of that cave finally.
Outside was refreshing. It was sunset, and there was a cool breeze blowing past, perhaps from the south. Ainsley emerged from the mouth of the Bognotti's nest, bloodied and tired but feeling a more satisfied with himself than he'd felt in the past weeks. It cost several Bognotti their life, but it seemed a marginally small price to pay. As far as he was concerned anyway.
