Yes, he was in a massive amount of pain. Not only was the scar spread across his chest pulsating and somewhat reopening judging by the beads of blood that were beginning to show through his shirt, but his shoulder was all but numb and more or less immovable, and his ankle was in a similar condition. Still, he knew he had to leave but he didn't want to just yet. He wasn't satisfied, not by a long shot, so he pressed onward and further into the cave. With any luck - and judging by his luck thus far it probably wasn't a good idea to be banking on "luck" - there would be an exit on the other side.
Ainsley was limping along, trying his best to think happier thoughts and keep his mind preoccupied and not focused on the pain coursing through his entire body. His arms ached from swinging and holding up a torch, his chest hurt, his shoulder hurt, his feet hurt, his back hurt, his eyes even sort of hurt from having to adjust to the dim interior of the cave. If it was possible, he was almost certain that his hair also hurt...
His thoughts were cut off, however, by another Bognotti. It looked a bit beaten up already, so Ainsley quickly poised himself and made a run toward the creature. It seemed to run at him as well, and the two clashed midway the distance between them, Ainsley slicing down with his axe and the spider attempting to bite at Ainsley's face. Luckily it didn't reach, but Ainsley's axe dug into its back. The creature screeched out in pain and seemed to back away, but Ainsley pursued and hacked downward in quick, successive motions. It wasn't long before the spider was dead, and the blonde pressed onward, breathing heavily but not quite exhausted just yet...
