In a town in Montana, a group of settlers have gotten quite comfortable and have set up camp there. But the natives that live around the area don't appreciate their intrusion, and plan to show them just what they've gotten themselves into. A few dead horses and five stolen cows later, and the settlers and the natives are at each other's throats every time they cross paths. But even the most bitter of enemies can find some type of common ground, especially when love is in the air for two people, one from each group.[[This is a private roleplay between Radioactive Snowflake and The Miserable Muse. Feel free to admire our writing and enjoy the story, but do not post here.]]

xxxxxStanding amongst a circle of warriors from her tribe, the brown haired girl was silent, listening attentively to her father's orders. It was time to get rid of those settlers once and for all. They would be doing the final raid - the final part of the war between the indians and the settlers. What caught her attention was the fact that this was the chance, this was her chance to prove her worth to her father and she smiled as she learned that she would be leading the raid on the settlers. It was up to her to make sure everything went well and that those humans didn't live to see another day. Giving a nod and lowering her head in respect, she gave a war call as the her father clasped her shoulder, giving instructions for her to go on and get the war party started.
Leaving the group, she walked over to the group of warriors, gathering her bow and thrusting it into the air. "It's time! Let us go and slay those vermin settlers!" She yelled out, earning a bunch of war calls in return as the others agreed with her, all getting hyped up at the thought of war. Giving a whistle, she smiled as her horse came forward, nudging the girl's shoulder. As it was, it was time to go and Laiya pulled herself up onto the stallion, smiling fondly at him as she waited to see if the others were ready.
Looking around herself, Laiya was happy to see that everyone was up on their horses, all of them awaiting orders for their duties. Holding her bow tightly, she nudged her horse on it's sides, soon galloping off towards the settlers colony. They luckily had night on their sides, though the sound of hoofbeats would be sure to alert the settlers to their presence. Either way, they were going to start this off and Laiya let out a war cry as she made her way towards the village, bow string pulled back and loaded. Though it wasn't long before she fired the first shot, catching an unsuspecting guard by surprise as the arrow went through his chest.

Judd MasonAt the settler's camp, the settlers were busy packing up their things as fast as they could, the guards getting all the townspeople out of the area. A young male trotted through the area on a black stallion, his eyes searching the horizon anxiously.
"I heard them, Judd. I know I did!" A male beside him spoke, jumping as Judd looked down to him.
"I heard them too... get to the wagons, and take off as soon as I give the signal." he ordered, the male nodding and bolting off to his wagon. Pulling his shotgun from his back, he cocked it with one hand, keeping it at his side as he circled around. "Alright you bastards.... where are you coming from...?" he spoke, searching for any sign of the oncoming natives.
Then he saw it.
A smoke trail coming up just over the western hemisphere, growing in size, the forms of horses and tribesmen coming into view.
"They're in from the west! Get on the roads, NOW!" Judd ordered, the guards rushing towards the gates of the town as the wagons took off at full speed. Tilting his hat down over one eye, Judd glanced to his steed Ranger, smirking. "It's go time buddy. No mercy. YAH!!" He ordered, nudging the horse's side as he took off towards the gates.

xxxxxThe onslaught began as Laiya and the others tore their way into the town. Seeing hardly any civilians, her eyes narrowed at the wagons that were tearing away from the settlement, innocents trying to get away. "No survivors! Kill them all! Don't let them get away!" She cried out, gesturing for five members of the war party to chase down the wagons and kill everyone in them. None of these intruders would be getting away. Though a man was easily gunning down her warriors, the male sitting atop a black steed with a shotgun in his hand. Eventually he would have to reload and Laiya looked to her stallion whom was dancing in anticipation, ready to go. Nudging his flanks, she tore off towards Judd. This was going to be a disaster, and her stallion, Banshee, seemed to know this. He reared up last moment, kicking his hooves and trying to turn though all that happened was Laiya slid off of his back, nearly being trampled beneath her own horse.
Sitting on the ground in a daze, she didn't notice anything happening around her, the female holding her head and groaning in pain. She'd hit it rather hard and was disoriented, and with her horse freaking out next to her, she was in danger of being trampled if he didn't manage to calm down. All around her the war party was failing, all of them being killed by the guns the white people held. Looking around in confusion, she wasn't sure what to do, the female trying to stand only to fall back down, gripping her head and gritting her teeth. This hurt, this was pain. And she didn't like pain. Soon enough, the one with the black stallion was upon her though it seemed Banshee wasn't going to let anyone near the girl, charging the other horse. He reared up again, kicking out his hooves to show that he refused to give up so easily and that no one was going near his girl if he could help it.

Judd MasonSeeing one of the natives fall to the ground, her horse stampeding around her, Judd raced for the girl, but was cut off as Banshee came at his horse, the two steeds clashing their hooves and stomping at each other. Seeing another group of males drooling with anticipation, starting to surround the girl, Judd hissed out a command, Ranger suddenly backing away and dodging the next attack, racing for Laiya.
"Get back, all of you! Back I say!" He ordered as he neared the group, firing off warning shots as Ranger came to stand directly over Laiya, shielding her with his body and neighing angrily at anybody who came too close. Jumping down, Judd spread the males out, backing up to feel Laiya's weak hand on his calf. Looking down, he knelt to her and helped her out from under his horse, eying her over.
"That's the chieftains daughter! His pride and joy!" One of the males spoke. "We were gonna capture her for ya!"
Glaring over his shoulder, Judd barked out. "You were going to do no such thing. I know your kind, you lowlife drunkards. She's mine..." He declared, reloading his gun before hopping on Ranger and glancing to Banshee. "Get her horse if you wanna catch something, otherwise get the hell out of my way!" he demanded, Ranger letting out a cry and taking off after the wagons, the male firing after the tribesmen who were in hot pursuit of the townsfolk, taking them out one by one with ease.
As he neared the lead, he glanced to the wagon driver beside him. "Keep going, I'll meet you in the next town over!" he spoke, repositioning the girl onto his lap and shouldering his shotgun, giving a command to Ranger and clinging to his reins as the horse took off at full speed, kicking up dust behind his hooves.

xxxxxA shrill whinny was heard from Banshee, one of the very reasons he'd gotten his name. Something was wrong, Laiya could feel it and she gave a sharp whistle, the stallion whirling around to come back to her, only to be blocked off by all of the men. Everything was clouded and hazy and she wasn't sure what she was doing but she could see them all around her and in a last attempt to get help, she grabbed the calf of what she thought to be one of her own men. It wouldn't be long before Banshee charged the group, the angry stallion pacing behind them all desperately. It was no rumor, just how close a horse was to it's rider in her tribe, and they were in for a surprise if they didn't leave the girl be. Though she was starting to become aware of the reality of things when she was pulled up onto the black horse, and Banshee was too far away. These weren't her men, they had no black horses. Black horses were considered to be a bad omen in her tribe and she struggled weakly against Judd. "No! Get me off of this demon horse!" She cried, turning to grab her bow only to grab the front of the man's shirt. Now that her vision was clear, she could see her bow on the ground, broken into tiny little pieces from Banshee's hooves.
Listening to the man's orders, she wasn't sure what to think as she realized that he was taking her towards the very villages that her tribe was planning to take out, one by one. He wasn't taking her to her home, he was taking her to his home. Distraught indians watched hopelessly, some even giving chase in an attempt to get their chief's daughter. One sat on a hill though, watching over the scene. His horse snorted and pawed at the ground, wanting desperately to join in the little war chase that was going on. However, his rider would not allow it, instead pulling out a bullhorn to call the others back. This was the tribe's second in command, and his orders to those around them were simple. "Laiya, daughter of the chief, has been pronounced dead today by the settlers. She is gone. You all understand me?" He questioned, his eyes hard. This was his way of getting back at the girl for refusing his request to marry her, and instead going off with one of the warriors in training. He had killed the boy in a raid and blamed it on the white folk, and now, he was doing the same thing over again. Though there was one last thing to make her suffer as he had, killing her horse. That was taboo in his village, but he didn't care. If anyone were to spill the news to her father about his previous acts of traitory, then he'd be screwed anyways. "Two of you, kill her horse. We need this to be as real looking as possible. Bring me his head." He ordered, giving them firm glares. "B-but.. We can't. That's taboo. She is still one of us!" One argued, only to be killed by the man's hatchet.
Two men stepped up and nodded, mounting their horses and taking off after Banshee, though by now he was hot on the tail of Ranger and Judd. If they thought they could outrun him, they were in for it and he let out an angry whinny to let them know that they were going down. Though he'd have to find a way to safely snag his girl from them. Biting onto her clothing and pulling her off was a possibility but that left the option of him dropping her, which he'd already done. A sharp whistle caught his attention, it was his girl and he rammed into Ranger, deciding to push this other horse over and kill both him and his rider.

Judd MasonJudd's ears were alert to everything around them, including the sounds of hooves behind him. Glancing back, he saw Banshee hot on his heels, the male lowering himself over Laiya as the other horse rammed into Ranger. Hearing Ranger shriek in protest, he placed a hand on the horse's neck.
"Don't mind him boy, pay no mind to him. Just keep going." He spoke in a soothing voice, lashing the reins and jerking as they sped up. His horse shrieked again to alert them of a second party, and Judd looked back to see the tribesmen chasing after the slowing Banshee.
"What the hell are they doing?" He spoke, slowing Ranger down just in time to see Banshee get cut off by one of the tribesmen, his hatchet raised high. Glancing down to Laiya, his eyes grew cold as he glanced to Ranger. "Take 'em down boy. Let's go! YAH! YAH!!" He commanded, the horse wheeling around and barreling towards the men at top speed.
"PASS 'EM!" He spoke, pulling out a length of rope on his side and snapping it towards the first tribesmen. "CIRCLE!" He called, Ranger enclosing everyone into a tight-knit circle as Judd weaved the rope in and out and all around the tribesmen, trapping them together and harshly ripping them off their horses. Glancing to Banshee, he opened up the circle of horses by scaring them with his gun, firing off in the air. "What are you waiting for? Get the hell out of there!" He spoke, glancing to Laiya's limp form before remembering her whistle command. Placing his fingers to his mouth, he whistled just as she had, waving the horse out before getting Ranger to back off, glancing to the tribesmen who were now tangled up together on the ground.
"You guys look a little wound up down there." He spoke coldly, aiming his gun at them and pulling back the hammer. "Don't you ever disrespect a horse like that again..." He spoke, smiling suddenly as he put the gun away. "Tell your leader next time he pulls something like that, I'll kill him myself, comprende'?" he spoke, glancing to Banshee. "And as for you. I'm bettin' you're still wanting your girl back. Well, you'll have to follow me if you want her." He spoke, lashing the reins and turning Ranger around, letting him go at an easy trot this time, noting his horse's breathing growing heavy.

xxxxxThat whinny, she knew it and she was about to let out another whistle to call for Banshee just as she was roughly jostled by Banshee's attempt to rescue her. Of course he was desperate but the roughness of the shove had been enough to nearly knock her off and if not for Judd holding onto her, she would've fallen off and probably gotten trampled. Everything was still blurry and as she rose a hand to the back of her head, she understood why. The back of her head had a painful knot, that was a sign of something bad, something that the elders said was life threatening. Or was it? She really didn't pay enough attention to really know. She just knew it hurt, and it wasn't a fun thing to have. Any pain sucked, and Laiya gave a groan of pain as she listened to the whistle that was usually her sign to Banshee. And then the world spun as the horse turned around and she could see it, her tribesmen, were they grabbing Banshee? Faintly she could see the object, the hatchet raised. "NO! BANSHEE!" She screeched, sitting upright worriedly, her eyes glued to her horse.
Luckily, this cowboy was saving the day, taking down Banshee's attackers and even getting the horse to follow along. "Leave our lands... We... Can't share. Horses need land. You keep taking... horses... land." She murmured, struggling to concentrate as Banshee ran alongside Ranger. He was debating on shoving again, the stallion letting out a snort to let his girl know he was there for her. Though the way Judd was speaking, something was wrong, there was a threat and she didn't understand. They had tried to hurt Banshee and this man was sticking up for him? She could barely see the form on the hill and she grunted, shaking her head. "Dragonclaw...." Oh, how she hated that man. Rumor was that he had killed the man whom she was in love with, all because she didn't accept his hand in marriage but as he would have found out - even her father was against him. He was a twisted man, there was great evil within him. It was sure as hell obvious now.

Judd Mason"Dragonclaw? Was that the guy who sent those men after your horse?" Judd questioned, trying to keep the girl coherent as they pulled into the next town, seeing the settlers pull in shortly after he did.
Glancing to Banshee, he hopped off Ranger and let him go with one of the ranchers, carrying Laiya over to Banshee and keeping her on her feet.
"I do believe this little lady is yours?" He said, a hint of kindness in his eyes. He didn't want to scare her horse away, and he glanced over to a stable. "You hang back with Ranger. I'll get your rider back to health in no time." He explained, sweeping the girl up into his arms and carrying her off towards a smaller building.
Laying her down on one of the beds inside, he checked her head, bandaging it up and glancing to two of the guards, motioning for them to stay outside the door.
"Nobody comes in except me, and she doesn't leave until I say so... " He spoke, glancing to the girl.
"And once you get your bearings, you and I are going to have a nice little chat..." He spoke, the kindness having gone from his voice as he headed out for the stables to check on Ranger and get him a drink of water, and to check Banshee for any wounds as well.

xxxxxA question, someone sent men after Banshee? This was enough to get her blood boiling, Laiya giving a growl of anger. "Most likely." She huffed, not understanding why this man was helping her. It wasn't long before they got into the town in which she was trying to make everyone leave and she was practically dragged over to her horse. Seeing her horse, she relaxed, running a weak hand over his neck and kissing his muzzle. "My boy... Don't trust these white fools... Run. They're... evil. Just.. like... Dragonclaw." She spoke, lightly smacking the horse on the shoulder to get him going before she was yet again carried away. She didn't trust him, something was off here. He wouldn't, he shouldn't have brought her here, they were enemies. And he gave a worried whinny, nudging his head to his girl before he tore off from the camp, tail held high. He'd be back though, he'd wait to hear her call. She would break out, and she would call for him. All he had to do was wait.
"You leave my partner be. I will not allow him to fall to your lies." She sneered, glaring up at Judd as she was laid down. Of course, she didn't fight him as he bandaged her wounds, the female simply laying still and watching him as he left. After all, him patching her up was only the start of her escape, once she was well, she'd make her way out. Once she was alone, her hand closed around the bone dagger that she had hidden, making sure it was still there. She'd need it for when it was her time to go and make her escape as she knew that just sneaking out of here wasn't an option, she'd fight. She was sure that the hospitality from Judd and his men wouldn't last long, they were only building her up just to break her back down.
After all, what was the best way to torture someone? Gain their trust, take care of them, and then rip them apart from the seams. These white folk weren't to be trusted and Laiya was determined to make her escape and if what they said was true about Dragonclaw, though that was about one of the only things she didn't doubt, she was going to go home to her tribe and make that b*****d pay, even if it meant getting kicked out of the tribe though Laiya was hoping that someone would step up behind her and support her in getting rid of the evil in their tribe. But for now, she needed to focus on escaping, and she would know that Banshee wasn't going to come to the whistle, she had another way to get his attention.
