A Wandering Esper

Beloved Stargazer

They would eventually end up in a room much like the one they had just left - in fact, it would have been easy to think they had not moved, but a keen eye would notice that the spiral of runes now ran though the opposite direction that they had on the lower part of the tower.

Father and son would step out to a light breeze, much cooler than the one down below - and the sights would indeed be very different, fabric of all sort of bright colors hanging from towers and buildings made of pure white marble. The gardens were green and luxurious, with some high-dwelling birds to be seen and heard. A waterfall flowed from one of the upper islands into the large pond at the center of the garden.

Around them, elves - some resembling the form Ankou held now, but most fair skinned and pale haired - continued on their daily lives. Some were clearly mage and scholars, some were artisans moving toward the market to peddle their wares.

This was Elfeiheim, the elven city of wonders.

Isidore took everything in with all the wonder of a child experiencing a new world for the first time. The Pantheon was impressive but this ... it was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. There were people, no, they were elves his father said. They were very elegant beings, tall, many with long hair just like his father. Isidore clung to his father's hand and grinned.
"This is amazing." He stage whispered. "Why can't we live somewhere as amazing as this?" it did make the Pantheon seem rather dull, even if it did have magic doors.

Yes, that was clearly the wonder talking. The pantheon was much more beautiful than this, especially when you knew what to look for.

"Maybe if you go ask Harmodius, he will make you a floating island." The Spirit Guide whispered back. Oh, hopefully he had not just gotten his son started on an endless quest... Though the Twin Crown might enjoy the company, at least.

Isidore was a better conversationalist than he was, in spite of his young age.

"Don't let go of my hand, alright ?" He spoke out loud now, the concerned father in a new environnement. "There's many people here, and I don't want to lose you."

"Really?" isidore asked, rather excited about that idea, a whole floating island just for him. He'd never met Harmodius though, he had heard of him of course, but never actually seen him. His train of thought was interrupted as his father spoke again. It was very busy, people going about their business, not bothered about the two strangers in their midst.
"Okay daddy." He said, looking up at him with a smile. "Where are we going?"

"To the market first. Maybe we could see if we can bring something home for your mother and sisters, hn ?" Caelia and Kyrie always liked it when he brought bits and things back from whatever world he was visiting, and to have it come from their brother would probably make it even more awesome for them.

Of course, he would take them along to adventures too. Caelia has seen Avalon, it was the matter of finding somewhere to take Kyrie to.

Isidore half skipped along beside his father as they wandered through the marketplace. He liked finding presents for people, presents made them happy.
"Yeah! We have to get something pretty for mama, and for Kyrie and Cae, kyrie likes shiny things and Cae likes ummm, everything." He grinned a little. "It's nice here."

That was... indeed rather accurate, really. Kyrie was part magpie, and Caelia considered rocks to be appropriate gifts if they were colorful enough.

"And your mother loves jewelry." He winked, as if letting his son in on a deep secret. One look at Cosine did reveal that much, and it was a wonder he had not adorned her from head to toe yet.

"Oh yeah!" He bounced, she had a pretty necklace she wore all the time that was made of bone. Isi remembered because when he was smaller he had tried to chew on it. She had lots of pretty things in her hair too. "Over here let's look here." he pointed at one of the stalls that had bright colours and lots of people around it.

This was where his son wanted to go, so this was where they would end up - carefully waving their way though the crowd. The elves did not seem to think them out of the ordinary, and they walked though the city of wonders just as easily as if they had been the drows they pretended to be.

"Do you see anything interesting ?"
PostPosted: Sun May 12, 2013 6:54 am

That may have been a slightly silly question, everything that Isidore saw interested him. This stall of goodies was no exception, he stood on tiptoes and tried to peer onto the table.
"I can't see properly, can you lift me?" he asked, tipping his head back so that he could look up at his father. "We could get Cae some bangles, do they have any?"

The answer to that question would be quite easy - Isidore was lifted and settled on his father's shoulders. Really, he might have been able to fit one kid on each shoulder if he balanced carefully, so Funeral would certainly have some space.

"Hmm." Ankou would try and get a little closer. "These seem to be mostly necklaces, more for your mother perhaps ?" Caelia would break something this fragile simply by blinking.

"Weee." Isidore cried happily as he was swung up onto his father's shoulders. he liked riding on shoulders, it made him feel tall just like his daddy.
"Ummm." he said thoughtfully, leaning his arms on his father's head. "Mama might like that one." He said pointing at one of the pretty necklaces. It had green in it. "She likes green."

"This one ?" He gestured to the bright green wire-wrapped stone. It did not look like emerald, as it had pale yellow streaks in it. But it was quite pretty indeed, and he had the feeling his beloved would appreciate it.

"Good eye. I am sure she would love it." Though, honestly, Isidore could probably pick up a rock and give it to either of them, and they would be happy.

"Let's see..." He came forward to the booth proper, trying to see what price it would be. Likely quite expensive, but he was prepared. Gold was easily found and traded for at the pantheon market, and the elves would not be able to tell the difference.

Isidore watched intently as his father picked the necklace up to take a look. He really hoped that it was not too expensive. He really thought that his mother would like it a lot.
"Oh look at that one." He pointed to a bracelet with lots of pretty charms on it. "kyrie would like that one loads I think."

"This one ?" He placed the necklace back down and reached for the piece Isidore was pointing at. It was indeed lovely, with a lot of the shiny things his daughter so loved, but the Spirit Guide was more interested at how sturdy it was - a few careful thug at the links proved this satisfactory. "You can get something for yourself too, if you would like."
