After quite a bit more practise Akilae felt himself ready top brave the turbulent winds of Ayr again. He was going to get himself an Ayrala dragon soul if it was the last thing he did today. Not stupid, the boy had opted to hunt on the far side of the continent from where he had last time. He doubted the old dragoness was going to let him off as easily now as before of she caught him prowling near her territory. Besides which he was a real threat now, more confident in his skills and his ability to deal the fatal blow even if his new tactic was not entirely bow based.
Spotting a lone Ayrala drinking from one of the mountain springs Akilae narrowed his eyes and focused. This was his chance! Using the magic granted to him by the Ysali clan he brought forth vines from the ground near the watering whole and wrapped them round the Ayrala's and one front leg. As the dragon reared up trying to free itself and rip the vines from the ground Akilae pulled an arrow from his quiver and set it against his bow. He pulled back using his thumb ring and aimed for the struggling reptile's heart. If the shot was successful the arrow should pierce the skin and deliver poison straight to the dragon's heart. A quick and painless death.
Thwppp
This time the young man's arrow flew true and embedded itself into the Ayrala's chest. It would have been a minor wound to such a great beast had arrowhead not been coated in a strong fast acting poison. Akilae came out from behind cover and began to walk slowly towards the dying dragon, until it drew it's last breath the grey scaled creature was still quite dangerous. Soon though it's great mass would be gone leaving behind only it's soul which the young man would take as his well earned prize.
