PROLOGUECharacter Specific Prequel to An Unexpected Dungeon Treasure (Remake)Viper9000's Character Name: Lilith (???) Age: 28 Pic: Full body:Headshot:Additional Info:Worships female deity by the name of Verity Shade_Angel17's Character Name: Lloyd Skiver Age: 32 Pic: Full Body:Additional Info: It was the late hours of the evening. Everyone had already gone to bed at the campsite. Well, all except for a Knight named Eric and a Warlock named Roxanne. Those two had other plans in mind to spend the night together. This would not be their story to be told however, as their's is a story to be told by many... The two met underneath a tree, the light of the moon and stars above lighting their way. There, they sat together to indulge in what the unarmored Knight had carried with him, in his arm concealed a book. This book was a magic memoir, its pages appearing blank to all except those connected to the writer's bloodline. A bloodline that Eric just so happen to be connected too. "So, here we are Roxanne. You're...rather curious to know what is in this book." He said as he placed it on her swollen pregnant belly. Eric thought she would not be able to see in his lap and well, she didn't have much of a lap these days. "Are you sure I should look into it's secrets? I'm not sure I know who these people are."

"Of course I'm curious, can't you feel the magic pouring off this book?" Roxanne replied, her hand gently brushing the black leather surface of its cover.
Even now, her fingers twitched sporadically as she withheld the urge to pull the book open and bask in its contents. "And sometimes the best secrets belong to those you don't know."

"I kinda do..." Said Eric, it was weird, he had not been able to sense magic before without the aid of the lance. Not until the memoir came into his possession. She did have a point though, about secrets. Maybe there were reasons and things he just didn't understand.
He snuggled up close to her by wrapping an arm around her widened waistline and made himself comfortable. Well, time for the moment of truth. Placing his free hand on hers, he opened the book.
And thus started the tale...
"You kneel before me here..." Said a male Blood Knight. His battle against a warrior wielding a battleaxe was over. Well, nearing it's conclusion. His name was Lloyd Skiver, a Blood Knight feared by many kingdoms. All he sought was war, many of times he would be found in battlefields of warring nations fighting both sides.
"I give you your final chance as I have with all those that have challenged me. Lay down your arms, and you shall be permitted to leave my sight with your life."
"You know I can't do that, Lloyd. I will fight to the very end!"
"As you wish..." With that said, the Blood Knight ended the warrior's life. Another body fallen, another flame outed. Was there not one that could satisfy him? He searched for one thing, a reason to fight. Something worth fighting for, much like the opponents he faced.

Lilith surfaced the wake of carnage around her; the bodies of men and horses lay about the field at unnatural angles, broken bits of weapon and armor jutted up from the trampled ground like bizarre plants, while the grassy field has long since surrendered itself to become a muddy red slush.
Kneeling beside yet another dead solider, Lilith whispered a silent prayer and closed the man's eyes. Running a blood streaked hand across her sweat soaked forehead, Lilith looked off into the distance to see a lone warrior end yet another solider's life. Casting her eyes downward, she quietly moved onto the next body, searching for remaining survivors while trying to avoid the gaze of the distant warrior.

Lloyd would then hurl the warrior's lifeless body off the hill. His great sword was firmly planted into the ground for the Blood Knight to lean on as he looked into the distance. It appeared that would be the last one for today. That was until his eyes set forth on another.
"You there, for what reason are you here? Nuns do not wear armor, so surely you are not here to simply pray for their souls." Said Lloyd, he wished to know if there was another fight to be had, or was this one simply passing through Crimson Valley.

"One does not need to be a nun to pray for the souls of the fallen," Lilith answered although her back remained turned to the warrior as she trended to the last rites of another dead solider.
"But in answer to your question, I am simply passing through." She added as she closed the man's eyes and stood.

"These men knew what they were getting themselves into and had not one, but two chances to continue on with their lives. They don't need your prayers." He said in response to her. Those men were given ample time to pray for themselves. Giving that she was praying, perhaps she was a Paladin.
"Tell me, woman. Why have you taken up the armor? Why do you fight?"

"The armor tends to come with the job." Lilith said, trying to lighten the gloomy mood that surrounded them but she quickly realized this was somebody who didn't give a damn about the mood of things. "I fight to defend my homeland from the dark forces who would do it and its natives harm."

"Your homeland?" Lloyd reached for his greatsword and slid down the hill. He wished to meet her face to face. "Is that what you tell yourself, or is that what the order makes you believe?" He asked, he never liked Paladins and their self-righteous higher orders. Many believed the words of the higher order as if their word was law.

Lilith took a step back out of caution as the knight approached. As he got closer she was able to make out more of his details and see he was not your normal knight but rather blood knight. "I believe what I want to believe." She answered sternly. "And my order is there to simply enlighten us to the topics that are normally kept from the common people or not dwelled upon often."

With that, Lloyd began to laugh at Lilith and her answer. "The Order has it's dogs trained well." He then crossed his arms after he got close enough to see her features. She was a battle hardened warrior through and through. The frills of a common woman were not present. "But I can see you're different. You haven't been fully institutionalized, have you? Still believing you have free will, free choice to believe what you want while you're there? I almost pity you."

(We should probably give her Order a name sooner or later. :p)
Lilith grimaced slightly as she bore the insult to her order in stride.
"I don't know what you mean, but we are far from trained dogs." Lilith replied through clenched teeth as she fought the urge to teach this man a lesson. "And I pity the man before me who claims to have a free will but here he is standing amid a field of corpses. Many of with died by HIS hands..."
(Its interesting to play a paladin, gotta take honor and all that other stuff into consideration when making posts rather than "I'm a warlock, time to melt s**t!")

(Perhaps Fenrir? He did call them dogs.) "Tch..."Lloyd shook his head. The Paladins just never understood where he was coming from. "It doesn't matter, I'm sure you have heard it all before, the order telling you not to believe our lies.""I never claimed to have my own free will. I simply challenged yours. Each of these corpses has a story to tell. Their eyes the title, their blood the words, their body be the book's bindings. Most of them, they came far and wide from their nations to kill me. They sealed their fates when they chose not to take the moment to abandon their foolish beliefs in killing me for their kingdoms, their orders, or for whatever reasoning they had. Each one did not die in vain, they died for something they thought was worth fighting for. "

(Na, cuz the way we have him using dog its like an insult. If they were the Order of Fenrir calling one of them a dog would be fitting.)
Lilith opened and closed her mouth like a fish out of water as she tried to find a flaw in the man's words but she could find none. What he said was true, or at least true in the way he worded it.
"Better a small lie to cover things up than a big lie to spread fear and unrest." was all Lilith could piece together.

(((Well, how about Lumina?))) "Until the small lie becomes many small lies, then what's the difference in weight? You have something worth fighting for, I don't. How about destroying your pretentious order man by man for the small lies they spread to the masses. Would that suffice, yes that's one of the lies spoken of me." He said in response, he knew his reputation. The Savage Blood Knight Lloyd Skiver, he that massacred entire kingdoms, just because. Even if a misconception, Lloyd would play the part, if it gave him more to fight. --- Eric had to stop reading for a moment to take all of that in. He scratched his head and turned to Roxanne. "Whoever this is, he's hardcore. I've actually been to Crimson Valley, it hasn't changed much from descriptions given about it."
