Aly was sporting his usual jack gear as he headed down the road towards the mall where hot topic was, he didn't particularly like the gloom andd doom aspect but it was the easiest place to find anything jack skellington. glancing around as families passed by he clutched his tummy, he wanted children so badly but he found all of the boys here either way too nice or just plain jackasses. heaving a sigh he pulled out his phone to do a search for the nearest fabric store to visit after the mall.

Edward Elric was doing what he usually did. Researching the fabled philosopher's stone. The problem with his research was that he was doing it while walking down the road. Completely unaware of what went on around him with his nose completely buried in his book. Whenever he bumped into something he said sorry. Not even looking up to see if it was a person or inanimate object.

Aly was usually better about paying attention to where he was going but he had found some particularly cute jack pajamas on the site he happened to be looking at. nose buried in his phone he didn't notice as the blonde anthro came toward him. normally when he bumped into people it wadnt too bad but running into someone with a lower center of gravity and metal appendages sent him sprawling on his a** with a grunt and sent his phone skittering across the sidewalk.

Edward completely lost his place as he hit someone hard enough to knock them over. His book fluttered from his hands and he finally looked up at the other cat. Grumbling in annoyance, "Why don't you watch where I'm going? Wait. . . I mean why don't I watch where I'm goin . . . NO! Why don't YOU watch where YOU'RE going. That's what I mean!"
Huffing in annoyance at himself he picks up his book and the others phone. Blinking at the crack in the phone and with a faintly guilty air he set down his book so that he could clap his hands. A brief flare of light surrounds the phone. Edward handed it over to the other without a mark on it as he bent to get his book back.

Aly's ears folded back and he began to growl as the boy began yellin at him and then one perked back up in confusion as he began almost arguing with himself. "are you ok..." he began to ask until he saw the bright flash of light and saw his phone being hande back with none of the normal wear and tear it had before the drop. bottem jaw dropping slightly he slowly took his phone and turned it over inspecting it. "was that... alchemy?!" he asked in disbelief, he had studie the concept but had never known anyone to have even proven the theory.

Edward actually calmed a bit at the others response to his alchemy. Running his fingers through his bangs he nods. With his brother's voice ringing in his head he remembered his manners. "I'm fine. You could probably hit me with a truck and I'd walk away from it. Yeah, it was alchemy. I'm a state alchemist. Are you ok? If you hit me right then it must have been a lot like hitting a metal wall."

Aly could tell this boy wasn't used to that reaction to alcheny and listene to the string of questions and comment he uttered. aly rubbed his sore sternum ruefully and chuckled slightly "i think so, what are you made of anyways" aly could tell by how his face felt that he would likely have a black eye in the morning, he wasnt sure what he had hit his face but he knew it smarted. Picking himself up off the ground he tried brushing himself off before trying to take a closer look at the blonde cat. "i've hear of alchemy but i didn't think it was possible"

Flinching a bit at the question Edward rolls up his sleeve so that the other cat can get a better look at it. "Automail. Alchemy isn't possible for everyone. It takes the right talent, skill and sometimes pure luck. It runs in my family so it isn't all that surprising that I can do it."
With a slight hesitation Ed holds out his automail hand to shake, "Edward Elric and you are?"

Seeing thw flinch aly almost felt bad but then his eye throbbed ad he tossed te guilty thought out. inspecting the automail in almost the way winry would of aly grinned "thats actually amazing" he stared another moment before taking the outstretched hand "i'm aly, and thank you for fixing my phone"
(i can imagine them going their seperate ways and them seeing eachother again the next day with aly having a black eye and being all "ok now you owe me coffee in exchange for the black eye hah)

Edward shrugged slightly. "No problem. Amazing huh? Don't tell my Winry that. I'll never hear the end of it!"

Aly tilted his head at the mention of the person named winry but nodded in concession "dont worry, i wont" he had never heard of the person anyways. Aly started feeling awkward like he usually did did when he ran out of things to say and began fiddling with his phone

Edward fiddled with his book a bit. Straightening up he said, 'Well if you're ok I'll be going then. Sorry about running into you like that. You should put some ice on that before it gets worse. Ummm...well...later."

Aly nodded slightly before heading on his way, he got akward fits like that occasionally, not often though, he had been working on itfor a long time. mentally cursing himself for acting like that in front of a guy he thought was interesting, even mildly attractive, he sped off.
The next day aly was nursing a hefty black eye from the encounter yesterday as he dragged himself half asleep down the sidewalk towards his favorite coffee shop. not only was he half asleep but half blind thanks to his purple and red eye. due to the emvarassing eye he was keeping his head mostly down.

Edward sat in a local coffeshop. He had never seen the place before but they had good muffins. Shoving another one in his mouth he turned the page of the book his nose was buried in.

Making his way into the coffee shop aly happened to look up just in time to see a blonde head buried into a book. A grin spread across his mouth as he was feeling much more confident today and was quickly devising a plan. strolling over to the table he flopped down across from edward "so guess what" he said as he flopped down so he would get his attention.
