I've had bad cramps all my life. But lately, they've been really bad.
I hardly bleed the first 2 days of my period. And then days 3 and 4 are like a ******** civil war in my uterus. More blood than I thought I could bleed. And the cramps to match it. And then the last 2 days are light again, but with the cramps.
Does anyone have any suggestions besides pain killers?

- Hot water bottle/heating pads. Warm wet towels will do the job if you don't want to spend money. - WATER. SO MUCH WATER. ALL OF THE WATER. Also, try to get a lot of fiber, too. Anything that will help naturally cleanse your body will help you feel better. - Cut out caffeine. I don't know about anyone else, but before I went on the pill, I found that caffeine made my cramps worse. - Doing some gentle beginner-level yoga helps to ease the pain somewhat, especially if you feel your cramps in your back as well as your abdomen.
Also, going to a doctor would probably be a good idea if your symptoms have recently gotten worse. It's better to be safe than sorry.

LeRaven I heard bananas are good for cramps. They are! Potassium-rich foods are awesome for reducing all kinds of cramps, menstrual or otherwise. :]

I had horrible cramps in high school. They got progressively worse until they'd cause me to pass out. But until they got that really bad in college, walking at a brisk pace did wonders. I had always heard that exercising would help relive the cramps but never believed it until I had weight training sophomore year of high school and had access to a treadmill every day. It probably became obvious when I'd have cramps because I'd spend the entire period on the treadmill that day.
If La Traviata's suggestion of yoga helps any, try going to walks or slow jogs.
