She wasn't sure what had drawn her out, drawn her away from her garden, the little plot of land that was tucked in the corner of a valley, away from prying eyes and clumsy hooves.
It certainly wasn't loneliness, she rarely, if ever felt the urge to reach out and find company as she found the company of her plants much preferable; they gave everything to the earth, were beautiful and never took more than they needed in return.
Well, now that she was on the move and away from her garden, she would justify it by searching out some new plant for it, to see if she could bring back a clipping, or maybe she could check the meadows and see how in bloom they were. The winter had seemed to drag on, and she was pleased that everything was growing again, perennial plants were okay but they weren't a good enough substitute for the full glory of the land when everything was blooming.
She walked slowly, her tail sweeping along the grass behind her, her steps light so that the blades would spring back more easy. As she left the valley, the land opened up before her and she inhaled deeply, breathing in the plant scent, her eyes closed for a moment. Opening them again she trotted onwards, pausing when she came across a large shrub, the flowers on it just opening. Ivy brushed her cheek against one, and then frowned as she noticed a few pesky insects crawling over them. They weren't the kind that benefited the plant and so she captured them in her mouth and after moving away, spat them out again.
'Disgusting.' she said with a shudder. Now she needed to wash her mouth out, and heading away from the flowering plant turned towards the nearest water source. Once at the sluggishly moving stream, she took a drink, standing for a while in the sun, just watching and listening to the sounds around her.

He limped his way toward a stream, wanting to scope the area, hopefully for other soquili. Was he truly hurt? Of course not, but faking lame and finding a tender hearted horse made for a nice way in getting food brought to him, but mostly, it was a good source of entertainment.
His skull marked face was the first thing to pass through the trees, into the clearing where the stream was located. A frown formed on his face when his initial glance around produced no 'targets' for him as he pulled more of his dark form out from under the shade. Ever hopeful, he looked downstream and sure enough, there stood a familiar figure of a horse. By what he could tell, it was female, from its smaller features, but until he got closer, he couldn't be quite sure.
With this other in his sight, he slowly hobbled his way down toward them. He was cautious though. He knew nothing of his 'target', especially if they were truly alone or if there was another somewhere he could not see. He did not need to be attacked and have a true reason to limp.

Ivy swished water around her mouth, and winkled a fly wing from between her teeth, discreetly removing it from her mouth before taking another drink, standing to shake her long, red locks from her face. Twitching ears alerted her to the approaching stallion before she spotted him.
Turning, she regarded him silently as he slowly approached. She noted his limp, or thought she saw it, he was still a ways from her and it wasn't very prominent. For a few moments she thought about simply turning around and walking away, but he was vaguely interesting even to her eyes.
So she stood her ground, watching and waiting for him to be near her. She wasn't going to be the first to speak though, he could greet her if he wanted to talk.
