25 years ago on May 10, 1988 Kevin Verdant had just started to work in Prof. Oak's lab. While working all day and night with his trusty Ditto to create new technology for the benefit of all. His lust for tinkering was overwhelming, he immediately started his research. It has been years since he started and after many failures he stumbed on a secret, something that should never be implemented. This discovery haunted him, day by day he thought that someone evil would find his research and use it for their own deeds. He couldn't take it anymore so he decided to burn of all his research relating to it. Kevin decided to take a break from all of this research and travel the pokemon world, from Kanto to Hoenn.

Meanwhile, the soon to be love of his life Mary Clare had just performed surgery on a person who was just shot by a poison sting from a Dustox. This man was treated for poison and severe punctures in the ribs, left leg and the right hand. Hours later after the surgery, Mary cleaned herself up and took her leave from the hospital.
