Krishna grunted only a little as he lifted the bag of fertilizer and carried it towards the front of his shop. The fifty pound bag was not the largest he carried in the store and did not make him strain as much as he could have. But it was still not a small weight to lift directly from the floor, and the young man who requested it still looked appropriately impressed. Exactly as planned. The florist was not one to flirt with sugary words or speeches, but he could show off the muscles of his arms, the strength in his back, the sureness of his stride. He felt like he had his customer's attention, but apparently it was not enough. The rainbow-haired man did not push for more than that shy smile and the promise that he would come again. Unlike Richard, who played the game hard and loose, Krishna was willing to play it more coyly. This one walked out of his life, one bag of fertilizer richer. Another would come in and he could try again. He was in no rush. At least business seemed to be improving. That, in and of itself, was promising. If he could get more business, that would brighten his mood.

After the semi disaster at the candy shoppe across the street, Isha stood outside of a rather quaint flower shop, taking a moment to relax and breath again. Though the entire situation went relatively smoothly, He still hated dealing with crazy older people. Seriously, the man had gone into the back of the shop and started SCREAMING, just because he accidentally broke a jar of jawbreakers. They weren't even that popular, and how hard was it to solidify sugar into a ball anyway. Seemed like child's play to him. Thankfully, everything was settled, and he had left with smiles, rather than an angry man cussing him out. It wouldn't be the first time, but that was a story for another day. For now, he debated going into the store that he stood infront of.
Mother's day was coming soon, Wasn't it? Geesh, sure, he loved the day as much as anyone else, Isha personally couldn't stand spring. He was the only person in the family who easily became incapacitated whenever a flower so much as tilted towards him! It had even reached the point where he had to wear a mask just to go outside, lest he would get so fogged up inside that there would be no way in heaven he could managed to get around. Did he even want to risk going inside this haven of pollen and chlorophyll?
Yes. Yes he would, because his quirky mother was worth it. Her and her obsession with flowers. Carnations sunflowers and lilies, they were her favorites. Why? He had not the faintest idea, but they were, and he always got her flowers for mother's day. Not just flowers... FLOWERS. Hundreds of them, adorning her little private sewing room, in the early months. Of course, Sunflowers were a pain in the butt to obtain.. They were not in season at all when mother's day arrived, so to even find a shop that had them would be amazing. Maybe he shouldn't have waited til the last minute to go shopping.. The move had taken it's toll on all of the family. But THEY didn't have to buy flowers. No, they got video games, or fabric, or candy. Those no gooders!
Ahwell, no point in lamenting his situation further! With a brave face, and a quick blow of his nose with the tissue in his pocket, he set forth into the flower shop, hoping that he wouldn't die.
"Hello!" He called out cheerily, despite his hesitation in going in further to the pollen infested building. "Do you have sunflowers? And access to lots and lots of lilies and carnations?"

Cooro Cooro Sorry I've been so slow, Cooro! Krishna turned immediately when he heard the bell connected to the door jingle. A rainbow brow rose as he looked at the nose-blower before him. It was the season for allergies to flare, and he was used to seeing the sheen of snot and hearing the sound of coughs and sneezes. He gave the boy credit for coming in despite any weaknesses he may have. Three types of flowers? "Yes, to all," he finally stated. He motioned with a gloved hand for the customer to follow him as he set off towards the middle of the shop. The sunflowers were the easiest to spot, their tall stems making them tower over the other blooms. Lilies and carnations, however, had their own distinct sections. The lilies came in a dazzling, bright away of orange, red, pink, and yellow. White dotted here and there but were rarer than the other colors. Carnations stood in bundles, their ribbon-edged petals in similiar colors. There were also various dots of color in the centers of lilies, and lines of color for the carnations. Krishna indicated all of these for his customer, asking a simple question, "Which do you wish?"

"I would very much like.. Every single Yellow Sunflower, Carnation, and Lily that you have, if you don't mind. Do you do delivery too, or no?" Oh yellow.. Such a bright and lively color, something that just absolutely described his slightly eccentric mother. So bouncy and excited all the time, fluttering around as if she was the busiest queen bee in all of the world. She always seemed to be able to pull anyone in his family out of their foulest of moods. All of these flowers would be the very least he could do to show his gratefulness to her.
"Oh.. Uh.. Um... The Candyman across the street told me that he says hello." His name immediately slipped his mind, but he had seemed rather confident that the shop keeper here would remember him. Who knew? The greeting was as far as his promised entitled him to do.
"You must have a rather wonderful greenhouse to be able to bloom sunflowers in early spring." It just seemed unreal to have them bloom already! But there there were, Tall and dominating over all the rest of the flora. Must be magic, surely! Isha just chuckled at that to himself.

The eyebrow only raised a bit further, and first the florist merely answered the second question, "Yes, I make deliveries." Before Krishna could think too deeply on the matter of just how many deliveries it would take for him to deliver every yellow sunflower, lily, and carnation in his shop, his customer delivered a message. The rainbow-haired man did, indeed, know "the Candyman" of which his customer spoke, and a smirk appeared across his rather serious face. Richard should truly deliver his own greetings by now... and it was unlike his sugar-coated friend to throw business out when he had (as far as Krishna could see) not bought any merchandise. Still, the reference was a good name to drop in Padma's Bouquet, "I see. For your trouble, perhaps we can negotiate a small discount?" Krishna all but tossed his head in pride to show how deeply the praise had been felt. Certainly, he deserved all adoration for his skill, but so few understood the true amount of dedication and work that went into growing the blossoms they all sought at his shop. The fact that this youung man did raised him in the florist's estimation. Perhaps today would not be a complete waste afterall. "I have a fine, though small, greenhouse located behind the shop. With it, I can produce much." Which returned them to the matter of the business at hand. He repeated the request, resting his chin in one hand thoughtfully, "Every single, yellow flower, of those three types? There are many." He paused to check his mental inventory--by no means as accurate as a spreadsheet, but good enough for a general idea. "Hundreds, in fact. Even with a discount, they will be quite expensive." Not that he was trying to throw away business himself, or anything, but he wanted to be sure that his eager customer could afford such an extravagence. "Is there a budget within which you must stay? Do you want only solid yellow flowers, or are mixed colors also acceptable?" Together, surely they could arrive at an acceptable request.

"It is truly outstanding though! It's barely even May, and your blooms are so beautiful and healthy. I dare not ask how, for I'm sure your process would go right after my head, and I am no gardener. Nope, I'm a fisher, but look at me, ran... Rantin-chooo!" A dainty sneeze came from the boy, though he was prepared with his tissue. As pretty things as those flowers were.. He'd settle for a field of plastic ones. The kid hoped with all the that he had that the new air filters were well equipped with pollen-proof shielding, otherwise he'll be miserable until the flowers wilted away. With carnations.. Who knew how long that would take..
"Excuse me, I do apologize! Um.. There is no real budget, but only solid colors, please! That would make it alot less cumbersome for you, I'm sure. Also, if it would be too much of a difficult task to deliver, I can have someone come and gather them up to take them ourselves." He grinned for a moment as his eyes shifted to a lovely and poofy pot of marigolds that stood not too far away.
"On a random note.. Can you really eat marigolds? I remember watching a Bollywood movie that had a wedding planner who constantly ate the marigolds.. I also heard that magnolias can help with Hayfever.. Do you know if that's true?"

Krishna could not help but be a bit amused at the small sneeze that came from his customer. Working in the environment he did, he heard sneezes of all shapes, sizes, and timbres... but that was the smallest sneeze he had ever heard. The smile that flashed across his face was the only indication of said amusement, however, as he replied, "No need. Delivery, even of an order this size, is no difficulty." The questions took him a bit offguard. His customer was proving more interesting with each passing moment, and that alone kept the aloof Krishna engaged. Naturally he would work with any customer for as long as it took to meet their needs--but it was considerably easier when the person with which he was interacting was worthy of study. The florist momentarily wondered what this yellow-obsessed individual would be like in his natural habitat... but today was not the day for people watching. "Yes, and unsure." Simple and to the point, but he had never been known for his scintillating conversation. He was working through the carnations, his gloved fingers lightly skimming the tops to act as a visual aid in seperating pure yellow from yellow trim. When he found one that he sought, he shifted it to his free hand. Then, to clarify, he added, "Marigold flowers are edible, but not the leaves. How would you like the flowers presented? Bouqets? Loose?"

"Oh.." So the man was of few words.. That was okay, even though it left him feeling a little unwanted. The florist probably didn't mean that; he probably just took his business very seriously, which Isha could respect. Atleast he had a nice smile, showing that he was friendly. Already, the kid could tell that he liked the man alot more than he liked the candy man across the street.
"Oh, yes, uh, bouquets please. It will be easier to place them than loose, and if she wants them lose, she can pick from a bunch without too many being all over the place.. Though knowing her, she probably will have them everywhere anyway. Hehe... I bet it's a bit weird, asking for so many yellow flowers.." Another sneeze shook through his body, and he could feel himself becoming lightheaded from the constant loss of oxygen. It was uncomfortable, but not enough to really hinder him from doing anything. "My mother loves them. She is like sunshine to all of us kids, and she loves yellow, so.. Yeah, seems like the perfect fit for her."
Another moment of quiet passed between them as Isha watched the other work. For him, he felt a small sense of kinship with the man before him. He was Indian, right? Just like he was.. Perhaps it was silly, but he really wanted to befriend this man..
"My name is Isha, by the way, Isha Chaudhary, it's a pleasure to meet you." He wanted to atleast break the ice between them before he started asking if he was Indian too. Otherwise, he could just see that going down terribly if he was wrong.
"So.. Um.. Where are you from? I was born in Uttarakhand, India, but I was adopted and brought to the US shortly after the earthquake in 1999." Maybe that short little tidbit would show he was indirectly asking him if he was Indian as well.

"Unusual," Krishna agreed. Not the strangest--or even the most difficult--request he had ever recieved. It would, however, certainly be one of the most profitable... and it was a sale he desperately needed. "Like your reasoning--unusual. Does that not make it better?" "Krishna Dhawan." Nothing quite answered an unspoken question of nationality like the first name 'Krishna.' The florist took no offense to this steer in the conversation. There were precious few of his mother's countrymen in Destiny City, and there was a natural kinship because of it. Yet, to be fully honest, he had to give a bit more information. "My family originally came from Jalandhar, though I was born here. My father and brother have since moved to Pondicherry." Despite his name, his mother's cooking, and his father's attempts to instill a love of India into him... the rainbow-haired man had never seen this far away place. Not with his own eyes. Perhaps Isha had, and if so... then he deserved to know that Krishna could not reminisce would him, however willing he was to listen to the sneezing boy's own memories. Padma had wanted him to take a trip with her... and that was enough of a memory for the florist to turn his attention now to gathering lilies. The carnations he placed on a small cart nearby to free his hands. Beneath the cart were spools of ribbon, ribbon in various widths, colors, and textures. To these he pointed before turning fully to the lillies, hoping to give Isha some allergy relief by limiting his flower contact. "Choose some, and I will create bouquets with them."

There was really not much to say to this rainbow haired man now, was it? Man of few words, he could respect, but the air was just so uncomfortable, it caused Isha to shift from foot to foot in an uneasy manner. It was so awkward to him that it was all he could focused on, even his allergies couldn't take his mind off of the awkwardness!
"Well.. If at one point you could, I think it would be nice to go visit India. But myself, it's been years, and my memories of the place are fuzzy at best. " The only real memory he had was the day of the incident, when he was under the rubble with his parents, but that was nothing to be dwelling on.
"I think.. Maroon Ribbons.. Grey Ribbons... Lilac ribbons.. And Yellow ribbons. To represent each of us kids, if it's not too much trouble."

Cooro Cooro So sorry for the delay, Cooro! These past two weeks have been very rough. x-x While the florist was aware of the foot shifting going on behind him, he assumed that it was caused by the boy trying to prevent himself from sneezing any further as he inspected the ribbon. He listened carefully to Isha's words, and he nodded to indicate his comprehension. "Then perhaps you should go - better recent, clear memories than old?" With the colors of ribbon decided, he moved onto the nexst task. "Maroon, grey, lilac, and yellow," Krishna parroted back. He stooped to the bottom of the cart and deftly began to pull out lengths of ribbon with one hand. With the other, he snipped at intervals. Eventually, a neat pile of each color rested in his hand. Only then did he stand and begin to create the numerous bouquets. Ten to fiteen flower. Rubber band. Conceal rubber band with approximately two inches of ribbon and a flourished bow. Set the bouquet to the side and begin again. As he worked, he commented, "Unusual palatte... but complimentary. Perhaps I'll build a bouquet around it."

"Yeah... Maybe the next time my parents go, I'll come too. But ever since they adopted my littlest brother.. Well, they've become rather stationary. No matter, though, before I realize it, I'll be old enough to travel on my own, and when I do, There will be nothing holding me back!"
He gave his nose another little itch, feeling a few more sneezes coming along.. Gods, did he feel misrable! Perhaps it was time to just give up and leave the shop.
"I trust that you can do a perfectly wonderful job with me standing here, so if you could draw up an estimated price, I can go ahead and leave my credit card information here with you and be on my way, so that I no longer foul up your shop with my overly sensitive allergies." He was barely able to get the sentence out before another round of short, quick sneezes shook his small frame. His mother always said it was the thought that counts. Even if a few of the bouquets were a bit off, she'd still be so happy to get them!

Krishna nodded, placing the bouquet on which he was currently workingonto the cart before motioning Isha towards the check-out. "Of course. I will bring an itemized reciept upon delivery." The florist pulled out the appropriate paperwork for such an order and handed it to the youth along with a pen. He tapped the appropriate section for credit card information and left him to fill it in. The other sections the florist would complete himself later. This order was exactly the boost he needed. The flowers alone would be several hundred dollars, and adding in the delivery fee... he hoped the young man was truly as rich as he appeared. The rainbow-haired man moved towards the back of the store, to the flowers that held the most special place in his heart. Isha had come for mother's day... and for such an occasion, one flower in particular he felt he had to offer. He returned with a pink lotus blossom carefully cradled in his hands. Despite his gentle treatment of the plants earlier, he held this one as even more precious. He slowly, gently placed it into a small plastic box and wrapped the box with a matching pink ribbon before handing it to Isha. "To your mother, from mine."

Now this was something Isha was used to, though the fact that shop owners seemed to trust that he had money was a bit unusual in his mind. He was so used to being seen as a lying kid back in Maryland, but now, here in Destiny City, people were more willing to take his money! But that just made whatever he did easier! It took but a moment to neatly fill in the information, and once he was finished, he sniffled again. It was just miserable in this shop, but atleast the owner was nice enough.
The flower that was handed to him was very beautiful, though he wasn't sure how his mother would respond to pink.. But when Krishna spoke of his own mother, Isha's smile relaxed to a sincere, grateful one, and he nodded.
"Thank you so much.. And this would be from my mother. " He stood up on his tip toes, and gave his cheek a light kiss, just like his mother would to the people she would meet on her travels. It was a culture thing, that seemed to vent down to her own children, though they came from different areas of the world. Still, surely his own mother would kiss anyone who gave her a gift. On the cheek atleast!
"Well, I shall be off! I'll be sure this is received from her just as nicely as it was given to me." Isha quickly stepped back, heading to the front of the store, before turning around again, giving him a slight bow.
"Thank you so much for your time! I'm sure that when the flowers are delivered, my mother will be in happy tears! I hope to see you again!"
With that said, he exited the shop, taking a deep breath of the fresh, less pollinated air. It was time to hit the drug store!
Quicksilver the Archangel I think we can wrap up, and this will be my last post! I would love to meet Krishna again! biggrin

Cooro Cooro This'll be my last post too! Krishna's always willing though he might bop Isha one for dat kiss stealing. The florist said nothing more, did nothing more, until Isha exited his shop. Then, as soon as he could, Krishna scrubbed his cheek to try and remove the offered affection. How old could that boy be--far too young! He was more his type than say, Richard, but that did not mean the florist wanted to be on the receiving end of the kiss! If there was to be any kisses, the rainbow-haired man would want to be the one to give them! The flash of anger cooled as he buried himself back into his work, wrapping bouquet after bouquet of yellow flowers. Perhaps it had been a mistake to offer the lotus. But... his promise to his mother remained. Any mother who came into his shop, or any order for a mother, then a lotus would be included in her honor. Always, the Padma will be Queen of my shop. Always.
