Sleep helped. Sleep made it all better. Mostly all better. At the very least, sleep restored some of the lost energy that the mirror wraith had stolen away…what sleep didn’t help was the aching feeling that she felt within her chest when she discovered that she had indeed woken up alone.
Waking up alone had not been in her plans for the night after all, and as all of the memories of what had happened during the night resurfaced in her mind, Raven was really wishing that it had all just been a ******** up dream, and Thursday night was this night instead of the one before.
Raven shook her head and sat on the edge of her bed, pressing the palms of her hands into her eyes, trying to block out her thoughts and her feelings…and just everything. Every little thing that was going on inside that beautiful blonde head of hers needed to just be snuffed out. But…maybe it couldn’t just be snuffed out. Maybe there had to be some problem solving before it could be fixed. Step one was just to figure out what the problem was and find the best way to get rid of it.
So what was the problem here? Was it her? Was it unrealistic expectations of how her and Jett’s relationship should be progressing? Was it just stress that had been building up due to school, finally boiling over? Or was it something a lot more simple. Something dumb…something easy.
In one word…perhaps the very problem in this situation was simply Remarque.
Okay. Problem found…but how could this problem be solved…? That was the biggest question here…and one that was more than likely going to require some long sessions of thinking. Because…hadn’t Remarque always been the issue? It wasn’t ever Jett who brought girls to his house in the middle of the night…no, that was Remarque. It wasn’t Jett who was always off at night, flirting and wooing stupid white moon senshi over to their side…that was Remarque too. And it wasn’t Jett last night who was an a*****e boyfriend and couldn’t figure out what she wanted.
Nope. That had been Remarque as well.
Raven sat up a little straighter, looking at the mirror that Remarque had left through the night before. The mirror that she always used to gallivant around the city with. The mirror that she relied on for travel, for everything, really. This mirror was adding to her problems, adding to her stress…adding to the main issue of Remarque.
Jett had to use the door…so if she could make it so that only Jett could visit…
The blonde stood up, leaving her room. She spent quite a long time in the attic but finally found what she was looking for. A golf club that had been part of a set that someone got her father ages ago. Yes, this would do nicely. She quietly crept to the kitchen, getting both the dustpan and broom from the cupboard and made her way back to her room.
She took one last long look at the mirror, holding the golf club loosely in her hands, then raised it, swinging it at the stupid thing as hard as she could. It shattered on contact and a slow smile crossed Raven’s face. There. Now he couldn’t get in. Now Remarque would leave her alone, and all would be well.
Now he couldn’t leave either. Now there wasn’t any way to get in or out…unless Jett was the one leaving or coming.
