Zuri hadn't seen Biroki in a while, and so much had happened since that night they cuddled up under the moon. Although Zuri felt like she looked older, changed, the biggest change for sure had to be that her hair was now short. She hadn't talked to him about it before she did it, it was kind of something she did on impulse. She had also got a whole new outfit, or a few of them rather. Her new outfits fit in more with the shifters who she lived with. Sure her outfit had a trace of Zena in it, but for the most part it showed where her heart and body resided.

She looked at herself once more, making sure her outfit was straight and looked nice. Besides her Belle nudged at her legs. "Okay, okay. We're leaving now." she said as she bent down to scratch her companions head. Ever since Zuri saved her life it seemed that Belle was even more affectionate and also brave. It was like the little rotai now knew that Zuri would never let anything happen to her.

"Come on." Zuri said as she walked out of her home, grabbing the letter that Reshel had sent her earlier. It had asked her to come to their home for some assistance. She was curious to what that could be, although she knew she had told Biroki that her father was magical she had never shown any magical traits. She had hoped she would, and maybe one day she would, but as of right now she wasn't much help for a healer.

She walked the distance and stopped at the front of their house. "Reshel, it's Zuri. You asked me to come?" she called bending down to play with Belle as she waited.

Biroki looked up, surprised, when he heard Zuri's voice. He had been called in to help Reshel, but then Reshel had gone out and said he would come back later.
Biroki was confused and slightly apprehensive.
It was a new hut- Reshel had many friends that helped to put their lives back together after the fire. Sen'oda slept, still, on a mat nearby.
In fact, Biroki could almost say that it was a nicer hut now.

"Zuri?" he called, surprised. He hadn't seen her since the...
Oh. Yes. Since the lake. He blushed a little. He knew he shouldn't blush. It wasn't like they had done anything wrong.

He was actually tending to Sen'oda because, well, it needed doing and Reshel wasn't there to tell him why he had called him in, so he didn't get up.

"He's not here..." why was she here to see Reshel? He didn't know about this. "B-but you can wait for him in here" He quite liked the idea.

It was, after all, a nice new hut...

But wait.

Why had Reshel called her here? Where was Reshel? The apprehension grew stronger.

He tried to see her through the open door, but she was too far away and at the wrong angle.

When she heard Biroki's voice she looked up happily, standing tall once more. She had been worried about how Reshel would see her but now that she knew it was Biroki who would be seeing she she was even more worried. She smoothed out her outfit before waiting to see if he would invite her in. When he did she checked herself over once more, running her hands through her hair. Okay time to go.

She walked in, taking in the new hut. She had heard about what happened, even came by to help out once, but Biroki wasn't there when she came by. He had been out doing something, or so she had been told. Finally she came to where Reshel and Sen'oda were. She smiled, trying not to appear as nervous as she really was. "Hello, how is she doing?" she asked fiddling with her hands. She really wished she had her spear so that she had something to do with them, but she didn't think she should bring them. It didn't seem appropriate.

Reshel was a big man, but he was sneakier than some would give him credit for. He was hiding quietly in the brush by his home, waiting. he had told Biroki to stay put and wait for him to come back from an errand. It was an easy lie to say that he was off doing his job. Because he was.
But it wasn't his healer's job he was doing. He was performing his obligation to his sister and nephew.
He liked to think of himself as a good guardian to the boy, and was very proud of Biroki after the incident with the woman and the fire.
He rose as Zuri walked in, and stalked towards the hut, barely making a sound on the soft understory floor.
"Shhh." he said to Belle, giving the Roati's head a pat before looming in the door, a solid wall of male shifter healer.

"Well!" he said, his voice booming merrily, "Good, good. You're both here"

And now you can't escape he thought, smiling sunnily.

"I think its time for the three of us to have a talk."

Biroki looked up, his face lighting up with anticipation. He had missed her. Her face ran through his mind often. But he knew she was all right, and that she was being accepted, if the whispers were true, so he hadn't felt he had to worry.

What he hadn't heard about was... The changes.

His voice caught. His jaw dropped.
The first thing he noticed, in his defense, was her hair. It was shorter, and he found that, while he had liked it long, it was... very nice short.
And her clothes. He could... She was...
She was different. In a good way.
His eyes did linger on her (very nice) chest, and when he realized, he shrunk back a bit and looked away quickly.

"Sh-sh-she... s-sen'oda... is d-doing well. " he stammered, trying not to squeak. He was blushing (again) but he was smiling like an idiot.
"I.. she... she's n-none the worse for w-wear after the... the smoke. I th-think the p-potion that Reshel g-gave her h-helped... alot..."
he didn't even mind that he was stammering. He was just happy to see her.

When Reshel suddenly appeared at the door, he nearly jumped out of his skin.
"T-talk?!" this time he did squeak, "Wh-what sort of t-talk?"
He had a bad feeling about this.

She watched him look over her with a smile on her face. Part of her was happy that her hair was the first thing that he noticed, but another had wished he had noticed her figure first. But when she realized he had looked at her chest she smiled. Okay so at least he did realize that she had a figure. Sure she remembered the night they shared, but it still felt good to be wanted in that way by him.

However the stuttering was back. She looked him over, he had grown also. Well not really grown, it hadn't been so long since she last saw him, but he looked so much more grown up. Like he filled out and became more manly. She liked it. "Back to the stuttering?" she teased. "And good I'm glad, from what I hear Reshel is the best healer around..." and before she could say more the man himself walked in.

When he said it was time for them to talk she opened her eyes a little wider and looked back towards Biroki waiting for an explanation. However from the look on Biroki's face he didn't know what was going on anymore then she did.

Reshel looked at the two of them. Gods, how had Biroki grown up so fast? It seemed like only yesterday that his nephew had been a scrawny little youngling, running around the jungle almost getting himself killed by crazy earthlings and fire.
And Zuri. It seemed like only yesterday, as well, that the halfbreed had found her way to Jahuar. She was from so far away.
And now... They were both growing up.
"Well." He started, his expression serious, "The sort of talk I should have had with you long ago Biroki, when you first started stammering about beauties in the lake" his eyes twinkled gleefully.
"But certain events mean I have to talk to you two" he nodded at Zuri meaningfully, "Sooner."
"So. Zuri. Did your father ever talk to you about men and women?"
He decided to get right to the point. No use tormenting Biroki about it any more than he had to. Or he could get away with.
PostPosted: Fri May 03, 2013 7:33 pm

Oh no, oh no, oh no! This was not happening. There was no way that Reshel had called Zuri in to have 'the talk'. But yet that was exactly why he had called her there. It wasn't for help, which she was glad of also since she knew she wouldn't be of any help, but to talk. Her cheeks turned red. Oh she needed to sit down somewhere, there was no way she would be able to handle this conversation standing. However she knew she had to handle herself, keep herself composed. She was both scared and curious to see what Biroki looked like at that very moment.

"Yes sir. He did speak to me. And about women and women, or men and men as is some peoples preferences." Of course he had spoken to her, not in depth like some parents did perhaps, but he knew that she wasn't going to go around doing things she shouldn't. And honestly he most likely thought he would have more time. However she didn't want to say that she didn't have the full talk, to have that with Biroki would be so embarrassing!

However it was then that she realized that Reshel was kind of saying that he had never given Biroki the talk. Oh this conversation was going to be horrible.

Biroki, quite literally, squeaked. It was not a manly, Mage-y, or brave sound.
Oh no. Oh no no no no no no. No no no no.
Biroki knew the talk existed. He knew that Reshel often, as a healer, had to give it when the parents couldn't.
He knew now he had been right to be apprehensive.
"I... No! It... It's okay!" he stammered out hurredly, "I... You don't have to! I... I know it anyway!" He did.
Sort of. It wasn't like he hadn't accidentally caught snippets of Reshel's other talks. It wasn't like he hadn't picked it up from simple observation, right?
Please... No. Not in front of Zuri... No... He couldn't believe this was happening.
PostPosted: Fri May 03, 2013 7:55 pm

"Good." Said Reshel, nodding at Zuri, "Sit down anyway."
He smirked at Biroki.
"I know you know most of it, but its about time everything was properly explained and laid out nice and clearly."
He cracked his knuckles, still blocking the exit (hahaha he had them trapped.)
"Hmmm, lets see. You both already know that men and women have different parts" he was teasing them a little. Why these things had to be grim, serious, and awkward, he had no idea. "And you already know that Men and women have sex, but also that women and women and men and men can have sex too. So I don't have to cover that."
He was actually trying to make the two teenagers squirm. Good. They would remember it.
"And you both know where babies come from, I assume. I should hope you do, Biroki, you helped me deliver three of them." He smirked, a broad, mischevious one that was not intended to instill comfort in his young charges.
"And I don't think I need to go over the how. So lets talk about the things you should be doing for the sake of safety. How does that sound?"
Were they miserable enough? Was it bad that he was enjoying tormenting the hell out of them?

Zuri wondered what would happen if she asked a stupid question, such as 'where do babies come from' what would happen. She would love to see Biroki squirm, but she wasn't that evil, plus this whole talk was kind of awkward and that would only make it worse. At Biroki's squeak she smiled. Now that was the boy that she had cuddled with at the lake, or rather that was the boy she had cuddled with at the beginning. He seemed to change the longer they were together, but here he was back to his strutting and squeaking self. She rather liked it.

When Reshel said to sit down she did, and while she would have liked to sit closer to Biroki she didn't think it would help the current conversation any. She listened as Reshel talked, happy that it was mostly towards Biroki, or at least she could pretend it was. She was happy and following along until he said the word safety. Oh gosh! Her eyes grew wider then she thought possible and her face turned red. "Oh sir you have it all wrong! We haven't done anything, there is no need for a safety talk." she said seriously considering trying to bolt. To make matters worse Belle chose that moment to walk over and lay on Zuri's feet. She wasn't going anywhere.
PostPosted: Fri May 03, 2013 8:24 pm

He was red all the way to the tips of his ears. Why? Why was Reshel doing this? It wasn't very nice!
He exchanged a look with Zuri, his eyes panicked. This was not happening... He was briefly distracted by Belle, who seemed to be keeping her owner from leaving.
The roati and Reshel were in cahoots. This, he decided, was a fact.
"N-no, I... Yes? He shrunk back more and more. This was awful.

At the mention of safety, he sat bolt upright at about the same time as Zuri.
"N-no! W-We..." he swallowed, "We didn't do... We weren't..."

But he had wanted to, hadn't he... He'd been thinking it at the lake, he remembered, and maybe, possibly for a brief fleeting panicked irrational moment during their first meeting when he had... caught her shirt... He blushed deeper and stared at the floor.

This was turning out to not be his day.

Reshel tried not to laugh at their protests.
"Not yet? Really. You two seemed awfully close at the lake." His eyes crinkled in repressed laughter, "Do you think I don't check on my nephew when he takes forever to come back from his baths?" he stretched, noting the Roati. Good. She wasn't going anywhere.
"Doesn't matter. If you haven't yet, you probably will. And give me lots of little grand-nieces and -nephews." He cocked his head.
"Oh? Weren't planning on that?" he smirked and, for the first time since the whole 'conversation' started, he moved from the door to one of the shelves in the hut, taking out a small container with some pellets of paste wrapped in a leaf- a pill of sorts. He checked the contents briefly before handing the whole thing to Zuri.
"Well, now you can plan. It's a powerful anti-fertility medicine: It'll keep you from getting pregnant. Take one of those with water before and after having sex..." his expression became, if it was even possible, more roguish. "...if you can manage it. You can stop taking them when you want to have those grand-nieces and nephews."
The container was full, and he likely had been planning this talk for some time. Had he made the whole batch especially for Zuri?
"And for you Biroki..." he handed the stunned boy a packet of tea leaves and other herbs, "I know how much you like tea. Drink that regularly until you two know what you are doing. It does about the same thing, but not as well... Which brings me to my next point."
Yes, he had clearly been planning this, because the inconspicuous placement of the small, stretchy objects and their theatrical reveal had to have been rehearsed.
"These."
He waited for a response.
PostPosted: Fri May 03, 2013 9:13 pm

Oh no, she wasn't sure if Biroki protesting made the whole thing better or worse, and privately she snuck a look at him. Wait, he didn't want to? Is that was he was saying? Because if that was the case then she was going to be really confused and really hurt. She wanted to say something but she figured that there would be a better time for that, when there wasn't anyone else around. When Belle sat on her feet she could have shot daggers with her eyes at the roati. Oh this was just plain evil.

However Reshel seemed unfazed by it all. He just kept on going. And when he said he saw them at the lake she could have died. No wait, yes she was dead. What had he seen! Zuri knew they didn't do anything, nor did she regret the whole experience, but still! To know someone was watching! Oh she had to be dead.

Oh grandchildren, and planning, honestly Zuri had never been in so much shock in her life. Ever. And she had seen a lot in her life. Then he moved, and if she hadn't been in shock and knew that he would have been able to catch her, Zuri would have ran from Reshel and this hut. At least for a while. When he handed the pills to Zuri she took them, unsure of what she should do. And then looked in it, there were tons! Gosh what did he think they would be doing! It wasn't like they had all the time in the world to do those things. They had responsibilities!

Oh but it got worse. He gave Biroki tea leaves and then pulled out something she had seen only once before in the bag of a older girl in Zena. And then she fainted. It was just too much for her.

Biroki's brain was shutting down. Literally shutting down.
He had SEEN. Reshel had seen. OH SERIN HE HAD SEEN THEM SNUGGLING this was awful and embarassing and it wasn't like they were doing anything wrong Biroki was just... Was just...
And then Reshel moved, and he was just full of dread. Absolute dread.
K-kids? G-grandkids? Wh-what?
He could only stare at the pills. And stare. And stare. He only stopped staring when Reshel gave him the tea, and then he stared at that, his brain completely shut down, noncomprehending. Nope, not comprehending. At all.
Until Zuri fainted. That snapped him out of it.
"Zuri!" he had dropped the tea and was at her side before he knew it. Blush forgotten, stammer forgotten. "Zuri... Are you okay?"
Well, she was breathing. She looked... she looked okay. That, at least, was a relief.
He did something that he had never done before. He glared at Reshel. An actual glare.
"This is YOUR fault" the little fire in the center of the hut sparked as he spoke. Biroki was angry, angrier than he had ever been ever.
"Go away!"
