He had expected it would happen eventually. It was merely a matter of time before he would receive the text from a certain sun trainee and apparently, today was that day.
Ryan stared at the text for about five minutes before he let out an amused sigh and grabbed his gym attire and headed for the door.
Apparently Kat wanted a rematch from the last time. Not that Ryan could blame her. The battle could have gone either way, they were both about ready to fall over. But thanks to sheer luck, he had managed to deliver the finishing blow and won it for himself.
"I'm assuming its same set of rules as the last time?" He asked, smiling at Kat who was already present and waiting.

Pacing back and forth, Kat had been waiting at the training grounds for nearly an hour. Not that it was Ryan's fault, but because she had simply arrived earlier than planned because she was unable to keep still and do nothing. She needed something, anything to do. So she decided to kill time by taking out her frustrations on a few practice dummies, before even that got a little old.
Finally, when Ryan did arrive, Kat acknowledged him with a small wave while making her way over to him. "Yes, same rules as before, unless you wanted different rules?" Not that she cared. Either way, she just wanted to take him down for having defeated her last time. Then, maybe then, they could just settle on letting things go.
Or not. It was yet to be decided.

Kat was acting a little weird. It was clear she wasn't satisfied with the results from their last match. But this pacing back and force... she looked like a tiger pacing behind the bars of a cage.
"Umm, no, I'm fine with the rules we had last time." He assured, setting his bag down on a bench and moving onto the field.

Without so much as a warning, Ryan lunged for the sun trainee; claws extended. However, he got about two feet from her, when he dropped to the ground and skidded, clawing at her side before he leaped back up onto his feet, behind her.
If there was one thing he knew about Kat, it was to keep moving and don't give her space. With her guns she could easily hit a target, so long as it was within shooting range. Well, that didn't change much, even up close. However, given that Ryan was a short ranged fighter, there was absolutely no benefit for him, to give her the opportunity for ranged fighting. To put it simply, he'd lose.
"Better not hold it against me if the results are the same as before." He teased, positioning himself to run.

At this point, she really didn't care if she looked a bit irritable. She wanted revenge for that last battle. She almost had him, and then with one lucky move, Ryan emerged the victor in that battle. Well, this time, she aimed to change that. "Suit yourself." She answered, her gaze following him as he moved to leave his stuff at the bench.
When Ryan lunged at her, Kat immediately summoned her weapons, and attempted to deflect the worst of his attack as best she could. That was a little unexpected from Ryan - giving no sign that he was about to attack. It was a smart move, to catch your opponent off guard, but she wasn't going to let it slide so easily.
Even with little to no space between the two of them, it still left him wide open for a close range shot. Pressing the barrels of her guns to his chest, the sun hunter loosed two rounds onto his fear shield before pushing back and away from him, finally getting the distance she needed.
"Don't be so sure that you will win this time, Ryan!"

Kat's attack almost sent the moon trainee sprawling. He had been teasing her, but he should have counted on her reacting the way she had and proving him otherwise. It was a little terrifying to be on the receiving end of her wrath. But in spite of himself, he smiled.
"Aww c'mon Kat, that's not nice." He said, dusting himself off and grinning at the sun hunter.

Kat was definitely not in the mood to play games today. This was serious business right here. Why it was so important for her to defeat him was unknown. Maybe she needed to prove something, or maybe this was the only revenge she could get for him having forgotten her completely as a friend. Even though she knew it wasn't his fault for that, still she was angry over it.
Flinching as the moon hunter grinned at her, she charged at him once again, kicking at his side instead of firing her weapon again.

Ryan hissed, scowling at Kat.
He was trying to be nice--nicer here and she kicks him? Not cool, Kat! Of course, being in the middle of a spar, it was to be expected really.
In response to her kick, however, he grabbed her by the same leg she used to kick him, and spun her around. It lasted but a heartbeat, and Kat was free again; flung to the ground. Though now without him shredding the skin down her leg with his claws.

Kat paid little attention to the fact that she had upset Ryan. If she had, she probably would have got some sort of twisted amusement out of it, just for everything that had happened. Though, after all of this, once she had calmed down, she would likely have to apologize to him. That was something she was definitely not looking forward to, but one problem at a time. Right now, she had other business to attend to.
Trying to break free as he grabbed on to her, she cried out when his claws raked across her skin, tearing it. "******** Ryan!" Taking one of her guns, she shot at the hand which had done the damage to her leg. It was only fair to do so, right?

"You started it!" He snapped back. Because of course, both of them were acting like four year old's at this point.
Fortunately, that hand that she shot at was well protected and the bullet never reached the skin. But the power behind that bullet was more than enough to cause other injury to his hand. Bruises were going to be the least of his worries.
However, using this chance, Ryan managed to lunge for Kat again, this time grabbing her by the shoulders, flipping over her, and throwing her over the second his feet touched the ground.

"Its a spar! What did you expect!?" She spat back at him, pressing her hand to her leg. For God's sake, if she had another scar on top of the ones she already had, she was going to kill a certain moon hunter, and bury his body out back in the jungle.
His shield may have helped protect him against that attack, but she wasn't playing games with him today. As he flipped her, Kat rolled back to her feet, and charged at him. Taking her gun, she smacked the butt of her handgun against his chest, which should have been enough to knock the wind out him, or cause him to double over, but it would definitely leave a damned good bruise on him.

Ryan made a rude noise. "Its not a spar. Its a fight for revenge." He pointed out. They had a spar. A couple days before this one, in fact. Only problem was, Kat wasn't satisfied with the results. He knew what this was, there was no point in denying it.
The impact of the gun against his chest, caused the moon trainee to cough. However, it was thanks to that, that Kat gave him another opening.
Not a second after she hit him, Ryan grabbed her arm, twisting it back around before kneeing her in the gut and letting go.

Fine, he could call it as it was. She didn't care at this point. Sure she was still a little sore that she had lost to Ryan before, but it was more the fact that she was upset with him in general. "Fine, whatever. Lets just both shut up and fight then, okay?" She hissed, preparing for her next move.
Before she was able to get a shot in, Ryan took charge of her opening, kneeing her hard in the gut in response. Before Ryan was able to make his escape, however, Kat fired a well placed shot at his knee in thanks.

Of course, Ryan was still oblivious to the fact that he had forgotten Kat. Just as he was oblivious of the cause of her anger that she had towards him because of it. To him, this looked like nothing more than an outburst of rage that she had lost the match. Not a single other thought even occurred to him that it might have been something else.
The shot to his knee was rewarded with a sharp yelp of pain and an enraged expression that flashed across the moon trainee's face and in a move to protect himself, while inflicting damage, Ryan practically flipped back. However, in the process, he used that flip to kick her square in the jaw, which then quickly turned into a low sweeping kick; used to knock her feet out from under her, when he dropped back down to the ground.

The fact that Ryan still was completely clueless to her feelings over everything that had happened, only angered Kat further. Feeling a pulse emitting from her weapons, the hunter glanced down to see that her weapon was charged and ready. With no further thought on the matter, managed to get some distance between the two of them, before aiming and firing both guns on him.
The explosive round was enough to knock her back a bit, only doing little damage to herself than it normally did on a bad day. Though, she couldn't say the same for Ryan. By the time the dust had cleared, Ryan was down and out.
Picking herself up, she made her way over to the unconcious moon hunter, poking him and proding him to see if he would wake up. With not much success, she instead moved to lift him up. "Now you're forgiven for forgetting me.." She mumbled, slowly making her way towards the infirmary with him.
