Mala was making her mark on the world. Finally she had left her cubhood and teen hood behind her. She had met many different creatures over the span of her traveling. One face rang through her head that brought both happiness and sadness. Her inner thoughts were disturbed by a noise.
Thunder? Mala thought with a frown but she looked up to a clear sky. There was no indication of a storm and no dark clouds in the horizon at all. "Weird." She ignored it for a moment choosing to focus on other things, but it happened again. She couldn't ignored it this time. To her horror the ground began to shake and small animals rushed towards her and passed her gaping face. Oh no! It was a-"Stampede." Frightened animals belted towards her current location. Mala jerked into action and started to head for an area that would be considered safe.

She'd left the den pretty early today, something she normally wouldn't do. But she just felt like she needed some time to herself, Dhoru had gone away on some mission and well things were a bit slow in the pridely duties. Which left her far too much time to think of how much she really, and truly missed him. What better way to forget about her sorrow than to find something to keep her mind off it? That was what had led her here, quite a ways away from the Kizi and all alone. She sighed to herself as she walked, cursing herself for leaving in the first place. Obviously being alone wasn't going to take her mind off of ... well being alone. Words couldn't described how much she missed her mate, and in that instant she made a note to herself to tell him he was never allowed to leave again. As she stood there matter of factly grinning at herself, she began to notice the rocks rumbling at her feet. Well that can't be good. Her mind knew this, yet still there she stood, far more intrigued by the rock, than what was causing it. Suddenly something zoomed right past her flank and she quickly turned to fuss at it. "HEY WATCH WHE-" Nema's words caught in her throat as the realization hit her. She had to find a way out. Scanning left and right, she caught of something white fleeing the scene. Her best choice was to follow it, it seemed ot know where it was going. Doing a semi barrel roll away from the incoming stampede Nema forced herself to her feet and darted after the white pale fur she had seen moments earlier.

Mala grunted when she knocked into something not bothering to apologize as being alive was more important than manners. Usually she could keep up a good pace by with lack of food and stretch her energy was lacking. This was just her life. Oh gosh Charlie horse! Letting out a whine of discomfort she continued onward. The sound of hooves gave her the incentive to push on. "W-where i-is a da-damn l-li-line break." There! Just a few meters ahead, so close. Something out of the corner of her eye distracted Mala and caused her to turn away from her goal. Antler! The animals were closer now. Not. Good.

There! Just ahead of her, was the white fur! The closer she got to the object, the more she was able to make out about it. It was a lioness definitely, and she was going pretty slow ... Heart racing as panic took over, Nema frantically swung her head back and forth. There was only one way out and the lioness ahead was blocking it. She had to push forward, wait - why was this lioness stopped in the middle of a stampede? Confused Nema rushed forward getting close enough to take note of the whines coming from her. Without so much as a side thought, Nema lined up with the lioness' rear and began to push, gently yet hurriedly. "Come on! We can do this, we just need to get a little bit farther ... ahead." Gasping for air she continued her efforts, doing her best to not further injure the poor lioness.

Mala almost lost her footing at the sudden voice of another female. Out of the corner of her eye was a lioness who was-pushing? pushing her towards the goal point. The exit from all this craziness. "W-we c-c-can!" Mala managed to gasp out and pressed her body into keeping pace. Almost there. Almost there. A repeated silent chant rang in her head. She nearly tumbled when for some reason she had lost her footing. Mala looked down and- "Holy s**t." The earth was crumbling or no wait. They were on top of an underground cavern. "GREAT!" She screamed in a puff before turning to the other lioness with fear and amazement.

Nema had noticed the lioness' near trip, and made a mental note to check her for injuries. But at the moment, she was a bit busy chortling at the lioness' language. Nema herself wasn't one to use such language, but she did get a good kick out of other's uses of the words. Clearing her throat she peered down at the cavern they were standing upon. It took a moment for the realization to sink in, she honestly thought they were going to fall for a second there. Heaving a much needed sigh of relief Nema looked up at the other lioness who was obviously adrenaline filled. "See? I knew we could do it!" She flashed the lioness her friendliest smile, and quickly glanced down at her paw. "And without injury I hope ... how is your paw? Is it badly hurt?"

Mala's fur was somewhat puff out and she was panting to beat the band. They had jumped up to high ground and they had made it. They had made it and they were safe. Wow. The others words registered but that didn't stop Mala from staring blankly at the other lioness trying to come up with something to say. "I? Yes?... Yes I am fine-e and you? Wh-where the heck did you come from?" She plopped her butt down and shook out her front paws to get the blood flowing. "That has never happened to me before." Mala continued to watch as the deer-like creatures below still running.

Relieved wasn't the right word for what Nema was, but it would have to be a start. She let out a sigh of relief as she plopped down right in front of the other, watching as she fanned out her paws. She wasn't quite sure if she could trust the lioness' judgement, she had definitely seen her nearly trip over herself just a few moments earlier. Nema eyed her for a moment, clearly not taking in the female's words. But after a few short moments, she heard the familiar voices behind her, egging her on to answer the lioness' questions. Looking behind her, she gave a short curt nod and then relayed back to the other.
"I am fine, and to answer your other question. Well I guess we were both in the wrong place at the wrong time. Or I guess I was in the right place at the right time? DOESN'T MATTER!" She laughed off her words in short silly giggles before lowering herself to an acceptable volume.
"Neither has it happened to me. It was pretty scary though, I guess I should be careful to be better attention next time." Nodding her head in agreement with herself, Nema was finally content that the others paws were fine.
"I'm Nema, i'm sorry we had to meet under such terrible conditions. But its still a pleasure to meet you just the same!"

Mala blinked at the other female still in shock and not seeing this as a laughing moment. Maybe in future but now... she was grateful to be alive. 'H-hello Nema. You can call me Mala and-' Mala coughed as she accidently inhaled dust particles. 'Its nice to meet you too. Gosh I need to lay down or a drink or both at the same time-phew.' Mala flopped on the ground and looked up at the sky ever so grateful.

The familiar voices in behind Nema began to mumble things, make obvious coughs, and things of the like. It took her a moment, but she finally got the point, her giggles were probably a bit out of place.
"Heh, sorry for the laughing, that experience .. it just ... got my adrenaline pumping. Now i'm all jittery." She had to hold back another giggle from breaking her lips as Mala inhaled the dust.
"Oh ... well I don't think we're around anywhere to drink ... But I could stay here and keep you company for a while! Then if you're still up for it, we can both go grab that drink!?"
Her paws pranced up and down on the ground as she stood in place. She was definitely jittery, and she didn't think sitting down was going to help. But she was the type to always offer her company, because no one deserved to be alone, if they didn't want to be.

"Yeah a drink sounds just...fine." Mala out a sigh and flopped over to the other side for a rest. She was just starting to doze off...boy she need more exercise that was for sure if that run tuckered her out. The breeze felt good on her face and calming. It wasn't long before Mala had begun to notice the twitchy movements of the other lioness. "Lets get that drink shall we." She got up with a groan and stretched out sore muscles. "Hopefully it won't take us long to water down our throats." Using her paw as a guiding tool she gestured off to the right. "Let us pray we don't run into anymore stampedes." She let out a weary laugh before both lioness' disappeared in the bush.
