She had informed everyone who trained with her that tonight she would be at Destiny City University patrolling around campus and thus far she had only had a quick spar with one person early in her patrol and now she was simply taking a break. She sat at the top of the bleachers that lined the football field and firmly decided she would see a college football game with Trevor once the season started and wondered if she herself should try to do a sport, but decided it might be to much.
She leaned back looking up at the stars and smiling. It had been a quiet night so far and with all that she had going in her life, at night and during the day she was grateful for every quiet moment she got. She didn't always feel the need to be doing something and stressed the importance of taking a break to everyone she trained. Getting overwhelmed was never a good thing and she didn't want anyone to burn themselves out.
Sighing she got up and went down onto the football field summoning her phone and looking at the time. She thought she probably shouldn't send more than another hour this close to the campus even if it was a decent way away from the dorms.

Quenton had found that while much of the university had update security to keep up with the times, some of the historic buildings on campus were not so much a part of that. a quick visit to a haven he'd made in one, and he was able to power up unseen, sneak out unseen, and then flit quietly along through campus. At least until he'd noticed there was a very definitive power signature near. REALLY near. On campus near. It felt like a clear note in his awareness, like Athene's presence had been. He supposed it was possible it could be Athene, or that girl from the mall. It felt strong like that. There was never harm in meeting and seeing what someone was up to, so curious he hurried from rooftop to rooftop until he found himself at a field atop the announcer's box. There was someone down there, bright presence in the dim. The uniform looked mostly ...pales...so he didn't think it was one of the dreaded mirror people. Thraen perked up from ma couched bunch behind the railing rim, stood up and waved down. "Heloooooooooo? It's a little late to take in a game? Unless we're going to field a scrimmage team. " Which, thinking about it, seemed like it could be LOT of fun with super powers.

Maia didn't need to look around to know someone was heading toward her. She noted a few moments after they were close enough for her to feel there presence and she waited. She always waited when she felt the light warm energy coming towards her because often they came to her. She smiled to herself, finding it funny how that worked.
She turned and looked up at voice, a senshi, standing atop the announces box. She smiled and have a small way. "Hello," she called out moving more toward the center of the field and grinning, "I suppose it is a bit late, but not really not for me. As for the rest, no I don't think we will do that."
She stood looking up, "will you come down or would you like for me to come up. Doesn't really matter either way, just like to have a bit less for conversation. We don't want to draw unwanted attention to ourselves."

"I'll come down, " He called back, and followed the proclamation with a few quick hops that navigated down to the seats, the front rail, and last the field itself. "You're like Athens..." Athene's precise and proper name mixed in with the rest of his classical art studies. She had wings clearly on her waist sash-bow thing. Not to mention music notes ALL over. On her leggings, on her sash, on her trim and choker, her earrings, even her tiara was a treble clef. Does she really go to war in a skirt like that ? And what were essentially ill-rumored height boots? Well don't mention about it, that's terribly rude. She didn't choose her uniform any more than any of the rest of us did. ballistic vests would do us all a load more good than all this ribbons and cinchers. Ten-to-one odds her magic had something to do with music the same way he had something to do with plants. Living flowers all over him not-withstanding comment. But hers was a really nice colour scheme- gentle, gold olive and pale chartreuse liquor. "I'm Sailor Thraen. It's a pleasure. " "Do you have much to worry about at your rank, stalking in the dark of the night?" The greater members of the court certainly didn't seem like they had nearly so much difficulty 'protecting the innocent' as it were. Leastwise not from Youma or Wraiths. Negaverse and blackened Senshi could be a different story, maybe.

Maia watched the other come down impressed by his surer footing than most. Leaping like they tended to could be rather unnerving. She saw it with a lot of other's but it didn't seem to be the case for him.
She blinked slightly confused not entirely sure what he meant, but he seemed to be looking at her uniform, so she assumed he was talking about another eternal. She was distracted from the thought by his lovely fuku though. It was so unique and he had flowers in his hair. She guessed he was one of the fauna senshi and gave a small smile.
"It's very nice to meet you Thraen. I'm Sailor Maia," she said before nodding, "I have to be careful just like everyone else. I have enemies on the other side, one of which is a higher rank than I am, another who is the same rank." She decided not to mention that they both wanted to kill her. She wasn't worried about youma and she'd not encountered a wraith before, but those sort of things she could handle.

"Like the Pleiades? Are a lot of us Roman and Greek influenced? The cat I talked to was named after Juventas- *********. Thraen....I don't think is anything. Not that I know of anyway. I hadn't thought to look it up...." Maybe he should. In the very least there wasn't any classical art covered in any of his classes covering anything or anyone with the name. "Well met, Maia." "There's......higher rank than general? General was the third, highest listed...like Eternal was the third listed, ...in the Primer." He made a wing motion with his hands, like making a butterfly by interlocking thumbs and fluttering the fingers/palms of his hands as he said the senshi rank. Oh, dear. Maybe the Primer isn't very comprehensive. Or maybe it figures by the time anything that dire comes up, you'll be less of a greenhorn than I am. I don't like leaving it up to chance, though. What a gut turner."So if you're not taking in a game, why wait about in a field? You don't have to answer, I guess it's nosy. I'm new to the court, so....I'm trying to get out to meet everyone." "Well...maybe everyone is a high goal. But as many as I can."

Maia nodded, "the Pleiades exactly actually. My star is apart of the seven. There are other Pleiades senshi as well," she said before giving a small grin," and yes I know *********. She was the cat who awakened me, several years ago now, she upgraded me as well, though she and my guardian did the last upgrade together."
Maia blinked and frowned slightly, she hadn't noticed that, but currently this was the second problem that had been brought to her about the primer and she would have to contact Kalli to possibly discuss an update to it. "I hadn't realized that, but I will contact the senshi that made it and see if I can get it updated ... but yes the dark mirror senshi have a princess Ares and the negaverse has general kings and Tanzanite, but I'm not sure to how to classify her and I've not see her or heard anything about her in a long time. You won't often encounter one of them though, but you will know when you do and I'd stir clear."
Maia smiled and gave a small laugh, "don't worry. I don't mind at all. It's good to hear you want to meet everyone. The more you patrol the more people you'll meet. As for me, youma prowl the campus, but mostly I try to get around so that I can meet new senshi and offer training and knowledge to them. I don't want to see anyone diving into this totally blind. I've seen enough of that and it doesn't work."

"I guess that would make for a ready connection if there are a group of you. Do you know the others?" What he really wanted to ask was if they were friends, but that seemed like prying. And really, just an awkward question in general. Hearing her say 'several years ago' made Thraen blink. This business had been going on for years already? How intimidating. "Have you been in many battles? Are there specific turfs? I know years ago with gang wars there were places you had to be careful what colour you wore, pending who claimed the land as theirs. Are there....Negaverse spots and White Moon spots? I heard from another senshi that there were patrols, but nothing determined by any...ruling power, so -to-speak....so it all seems....a disorganized sort of mess to have been lasting years already." I hope it doesn't stay that way. Its no way to win a war. But if we're all following cats, maybe its no wonder. Neil Gaiman may have expressed it best - "I would like to see anyone, prophet, king or God, convince a thousand cats to do the same thing at the same time." "I'll do my best to avoid any of that powerful sort then. " Hearing her general reasons for being out was a bit of a brighter point. Someone else on campus with some occasional regularity, then, keeping it safe from things that went bump in the night. "What sort of training, if you don't mind my asking?"

"I know of them," she said, which was really enough to answer the asked and the unasked question, but she continued it, "I've seen them and know who they are, but we aren't really associated." Being a part of a group of stars didn't always guarantee you teamed up with them. She hadn't even met them until she'd been awakened for quite some time. She hadn't ever really had the chance to learn much about them, nor they her.
Maia shook her head to the question of turfs, "no it doesn't really work like that. Though you find as time goes by you have a place you frequent, but that just human nature I suppose. I tend to patrol the park, but I also know and have for some time that its very active, but I branch out and go other places, like here, now."
"It is rather disorganized. We senshi and knight do not have a sort of leader so to speak. Many new senshi, I think, now are being more readily sought out by us with a higher rank in an attempt to ease them into this, but its taking time, as most things do."
Maia smiled, "ask what you like. In this knowledge is power. The more you know I think the harder it will be for you to fall victim to the negaverse or the dark moon senshi. As for the training session, they range from simple information trading, question and answer session, to hand to hand sparring as well as group sparring. I do not want to see other's corrupted or killed because they were ill prepared when I can help them avoid this."
She paused looking at him with a curious expression, "Have you ever participated in any sort of training? I can offer you a active demonstration if you like."

It was a second source, ominous as Athene's words, that said nothing promising of existing connections, friendships, alliances in the so called 'Court' of the Moon. He looked away, down the yards of the field into the dim, whispering to himself, "Its no court at all." His attention was brought back with her mentions of sparring and training, her question. "Oh...well, of a sort. Figuring out my magic was a bit that way with ...Argir. But really, when its the nitty gritty ? I don't really know a thing about how to fight. " "Not even as a kid. I was one of the weird kids no one talked to or messed with. Invisible." Still....mostly was. Excepting when he put himself forward, he just greyed as much as his clothes into the background. He hoped it hadn't been meant as some subconscious cosmic camouflage for self-preservation. If it was, he was blowing it with putting on his uniform at night. There was no missing any of them, even in the dark. "I'd love a demonstration. Anything you have time for....anything at all. "

Maia gave Thraen a sad smile and nodded, "you're right it's not. But hopefully that will change. I for one do not wish to continue on in this way." She was trying to change that in a way. Her group training session had certainly gone a long way toward at least helping other's meet and get to know one another as well as offer guidance.
Her frown turned into a slight smile, "sometimes invisible is good, maybe not for needing altercation, but for other things. As for fighting, I can teach you. I have time right now."
She moved back from him and took a firm stance before looking to him, "get into a stance. Try to make sure your weight it balanced. You don't want someone to be able to easily unbalance you."
She grinned a bit, "let's see what you've got first, shall we."Ivynian Sorry if it's a little wonky, explaining fighting stuff is not my forte, but I try lolz XDDD

Get into a stance? STANCE. Its from the Middle English staunce or from Middle French estance both meaning position or posture. She wants me to ...take a posture? A specific one? I don't know any stances for fighting. I just said I've never done anything at all before. Maybe she doesn't grasp that...literally never a fight of any kind, not physical in any way whether I was five or fifteen. But he couldn't just stand there like a lump either, because it was plain that just standing there wasn't what she meant by taking a specific position for fighting. So Thraen craned this way and that examining how she had changed how she was standing and tried to mirror it as best he could. "Is being unbalanced a big problem? What happens if you are?"

Maia watched him get into a 'stance' and frowned slightly before heading over and doing as Zia had done to her once upon at time, something her ballet teacher still often did, repositioning Thraen guiding him into a better position. "Well that simple, you'll be knocked on your feet or worse. They have deadly weapons, almost always once they upgrade, we don't always get deadly and even damaging magic."
She stood back, "feel comfortable? You shouldn't be to tense or anything, you want to be able to move around easily. You can reposition yourself if you like because I do not know which is your dominant side. I'm right, hence how you are now."
"Once you are comfortable I'll show you a punch, just basic pretty simple and kick, just to start off. Then you can try to hit me a few times and we can have a short two hit to win spar. How does that sound?"

Thraen gave a slight grimace, noting his mistake. It was generous of her to reposition him, even if it was embarrassing to have just how much he sucked be so painfully clear. "I guess it's better my pride hurt now instead of my face later?" "I'm lefthanded, but-" Saying he was a sculptor and used both enough to make it nearly a case of ambidexterity seemed too revealing and personal. "either will do I guess. " "For completest sake then, " and he considered how she'd posed him and mirrored it to favor his left. It took some doing shifting feet slightly so that his balance was centered- she was almost of an eye level with him in her heels, but he wasn't wearing heels to put him on toe-balance. How did anyone do it? "Alright...relatively comfortable." "That sounds like a good start." "Have you encountered a lot of enemies? Does anyone know how many there are? It seems a little like a math equation. Take how many there are and factor in how big the city is to see what the chances are of getting jumped. Better chances if we're asking for it by trying to protect people."

Maia nodded, "yes that is definitely the best thing. Im sure most of us was like to avoid battle wounds, especially ones to the face. Ive managed I think to avoid a black eye for now, but I'd rather those to what I've taken."
She watched as he shifted and got back to a comfortable stance and nodded when he looked to be ready to go. He looked pretty balanced to her and he be able to tell more once they started.
"I've met many over the last 4 years. There numbers are increasing just as ours are. Last count, well count an actually count, but last count I'd say definitely more than 100 that I've seen in one place at one time. There are a likely far more."
Maia took a stance, turned slightly to the sight, right leg back, right hand back. She waved her right hand, "For power use the hand thats back and step into the punch." She quickly demonstrated, once, twice, and a third time.
Then she waved her left hand, "for quicker punches. They dont seem to have a much behind them, but you miss less." She demonstrated once more, three times before nodding to Thraen. "Try both of those. One at a time, just um, get a feel for the motion and the feel."
