Well... it was almost dead. That was good enough. Avarice bit the tail off a snake, one hoof resting on the snake's head as he chewed idly and surveyed his surroundings.
He was bored. That was never a good sign, not for him or for anyone else. Being bored meant he needed to get creative, and there wasn't a kin around upon whom he could unleash his growing ire. Perhaps he would have to find more snakes to stomp...

"Should I ask what that poor snake did to you?" Corrosive asked, slowly walking out of the shadows of the swamp she had claimed as her domain. "Or should I ask if it tastes better when not quiet dead?" She circled the buck, bemused and twitched her tail. The doe was splattered in dark fresh swamp mud which acted as a type of camouflage to subdue the near neon green coloration accenting her hide. She grinned, red eyes bright and focused on the snake. "Do you always force their heads into the muck?"

Now this... this could be good. This could be interesting. Avarice smirked and stepped off the snake, the nearly-dead thing wriggling feebly. "It was alive. It serves a better purpose as a meal. Shoving the head into the muck just keeps it from getting away. Who are you?"

Corrosive grinned, rubbing her shoulders chummy like against the buck and letting the mud transfer to his bright coat. "Me?" She questioned, blowing air over Avarice ear in a teasing manner. "Do you think you can find out? I'll tell you if you can catch me," she muttered and snapped up the abandoned snake, biting down hard enough to kill it and sprung for the swamp.

With a muttered curse, Avarice launched himself after the doe, uncaring of what he might trample along the way. If he killed anything else, well, it wasn't his fault they were in his path.

Corrosive knew the area well, hooves finding solid ground as she lead the buck into the mire and muck. She swished her tail, using her small lean body to wiggle her way through brambles as she nibbled on the snake. How determined was this buck? It wasn't fun if they gave up.

Very determined, apparently, for while Corrosive was wriggling through, Avarice was simply punching his way past everything, his thundering hoofbeats ringing through the swamp. Pushing himself even further, he started to gain on the doe, some part of him glorying in the feel of stretching his body's abilities.

Strong and bullheaded. Corrosive twisted and slipped into a grove of trees on higher less mucky land and waited, slowly chewing on the snake she pilfered from the buck. Sort of cute.

Avarice snarled as he thundered into the grove where Corrosive had hidden herself, his dark gaze fixed on the doe. "Your name," he pushed, glaring. "And then you can get me another snake to replace the one you took."

She grinned, dropping the snake and flashed all her teeth at Avarice. "Well then, you can keep up. And how about no, it wasn't like you were finishing this one." The doe tapped the snake with a cloven hoof, eyes bright red. "As for my name... I did promises, didn't I." She tossed back her head. "It is Corrosive, handsome. You can call me Corri for short. If you want."

Shaddaling Blasted thing never alerted me. Avarice glared at the doe furiously, his head dropped a bit and his body squared, as if he were contemplating charging the wretched creature. After a moment, it seemed he had decided against it -- she wasn't worth the trouble. And at least she was interesting. "Corrosive, then. I am Avarice."

"Avarice?" She muttered and looked back over the snake and then the buck. Corrosive hummed and snapped the snake in half and used a hoof to toss the head half of the snake to the buck. "I like it."

Avarice gave a wry snort, then downed his half of the snake in one go. "Whether you like it or not, I don't care. It's my name, not yours, after all." Another snake slithered up through the muck and wound around Avarice's horns, this one almost a mirror image of the buck's colors and markings, and hissed quietly at Corrosive.
"You don't get to eat this one," Avarice added. "He's mine. He's not food."

The doe gave a quite snicker and then cooed. "Awwww, you have color coded accessories. How pretty," she simpered and snick. "I think the little snack you provided will take the edge of." Corrosive turned back to the snake and bite down, slowly chewing.

Silently, Avarice considered going after Corrosive for the insult... then smirked, relaxing. "Eat up, that's fine. I'll just come tear a chunk off your leg next time I'm hungry."
